Well someone was lucky that someone drove him to get the part he needed which in part was the reason he drove the car in the rain so which came first the chicken or the egg, remember Devin built Rose, not Jared and sold it to Jared. It’s not about blame good mates help each other, I am just pointing that out and Jared has had to go and tow Devin when his cars have broken down many times, just for reference.
And Devin is just as lucky to have Jared !

Devin u should get a pallet jack/trolley and some pallets next time when doing this stuff. itll make it easier to just move the engine around and is prolly safer than resting the engine on a few pieces of wood.

(For the future) I ran into this same exact issue my intake was low and sucked up a lake full of water. What I did was
1.pull the spark plugs out leaving the holes open
2. Disconnected fuel pump fuse
3. Crank the motor
When the motor cranks it shoots out all the water through the spark plug holes
Leaving the chamber clear of water
We all need a friend like Devin. Casually takes off engine like it’s easy lol

Hey Devin. I'm getting ready to pull my X engine. Needs a rebuild. looks like low comp in piston 1 and 4. Easier or make more sense to remove everything from the bottom or top? I don't have a lift but I have removed other engine on the K member before from underneath without much trouble.
Mine as well build the motor why you have it out. The evo master mechanic on the job!
trust me a good paint job on that hatch will be so worth it in the long run.

It looks like the engine sucked in some water, i would check the turbo as well just to make sure its not messed up. Im guessing as you said, a bent rod. Im surprised you didnt do a compression check before you took out the motor.

This happened to me years ago on a built 4G63, AEM makes an intake bypass that when the filter is submerged will draw in air through the bypass further up the intake tract.

Hey Devin, Idk if you can help but I’m having some issues with my FRS
I have a P0020 check engine light on for the cam sensor for bank 2 sensor A. I’ve tried replacing the sensor and checked all others, Cleared the codes and so on. Check engine light goes away and comes back on. What else could it be?
Possibly worth noting, the check engine light for this code did not come on until after we replaced the slave cylinder and clutch, is there anything we could have missed, unplugged, or etc that could be causing the issue?

I think it’s a bent rod usually when you try to compress a fluid it doesn’t work out so well.
At least 1 bent rod that has caused the piston to pull against the side of the cylinder wall and scored it causing the excessive smoke.
Would there be an issue with the oil cooler since water was flowing through that as well?
