I think the thing with Talk Talk is that they were an art band that the record company desperately wanted to market as a pop band-and Mark's obvious distaste for videos of the time shows in almost every setting-except live. Then its amazing. I wish we still had people around who wrote songs like this-Mark Hollis, Come back and Save US!
Absolutely incredible band, miles ahead of their time..!! Remember when I got into them in the early 80's and was gutted never got to see them live, and such a shame as the song goes about the lead singer, passed away well before his time RIP 🙏 will always be Remembered and never forgotten, I reckon they would be touring again if things hadn't turned out the way they did..CLASS THROUGH AND THROUGH 'Talk Talk'..😢
Every decade seems to give birth to it's own unique "sound." Talk Talk is one of the groups that nailed down the "sound" of the 1980's. It was a fantastic era for music.
Fabulous band, the best thing to come out of the '80s. Shame this recording doesn't do them credit. The 1986 Talk Talk live at Montreux dvd is great - both the band and the audience having a great time! :>)
This band grabbed my heat in '83 and I love them even more after meditating on their songs for years. They created a sound that was truly unique, beautiful and soul-stirring. May they live on!
TALK TALK were on Sky Arts the other night. I was an old fan in the 1980'. I am back on board again after watching their live performance. Iv'e never heard anything like it. They were awesome. Brilliant
+LastOfTheMaguas I can't even say anything about today's so called artists anymore .... they are as horrifyingly bland and ghostly as the liveleak videos. The word joy was lost after the 80's.
A motto to live by , life's what you make it ...they touched me at 14 and they touch me at 45. Thank you so much for sharing this, cheers from Canada ;)
An Extraordinary band in 86` but the next 4 years saw them move to another level on which none of their contemporaries could even see let alone follow. Comercially they hung themselves, spiritually and emotionally they were a revelation to the few who kept the faith.
@doraziof I'm 42 years old. Fantastic band - I think they are all still alive - It's up to them, but I think they still have so many Fans untill now. Mark Hollies - go on and call the boy's for more good music ! And look at all that covers around here on youtube
Sprit of Eden is one of my all time favs. I was just downloading my cd copy of Asides TALK TALK Besides and decided to look at some You tube videos. laughing stock is a listen as well.
I was a big fan of Talk Talk. Really inspired innovative sound... but looking around in this present day, can anyone explain what has happened to this kind of creativity?

What a star! what else can I say,Superb guy , superb track!Mark Hollis and Talk Talk are vastly underrated ,show me better today! if you can P.S.What about a comeback tour?
What a fantastic comment! They certainly did go on to scale new heights and 'Spirit of Eden' is without doubt one of THE most amazing albums ever made. All these years later there is little out there that can even come close to it. Thanks for commenting and take care, Tim
@chrisk61 Truly amazing band i was priviledged to see them in 84 whilst living in Germany and met the band after the gig--still THE best band ever to have graced us with their brilliance
Doesn't matter what live version, there all absolute quality, true craftsmanship ...

Superb song. The bass line still beats most songs today.
I was lucky enough to spend my teen years in the time this song came out. It's still as beautiful today as back then.
Pure class, a timeless classic!
For some reason this song has been in my mind for days! Love it. Inspired me to do demonstrate

People usually equate 80's synthpop with cheesiness, but Talk Talk are really freaking cool here.

I was a big fan of Talk Talk. Really inspired innovative sound... but looking around in this present day, can anyone explain what has happened to this kind of creativity?
Unfortunately went to shit. Sorry for the language. It's becoming rare to find musicians who brings heart and soul to their songs.
From Floyd to bands like Talk Talk in the 80's and maybe Oasis and The Verve in the 90's creative bands with instruments are a dying breed only person in this decade with creativity is a 20yr old Billie Eilish her headline set on Friday at Glastonbury was 1 of the most awesome inspiring performances I've ever seen, you forget at times how young she is, is going to be the biggest Super Star for years and years to come, she's a GENIUS
How shy he looked 😢

You're right that it's from Spanish TV. I got a bootleg dvd if it which this is taken from
agree completely.
Uhm, I have to agree with you. I grew up listening to their music in the 80's and they belong there.
