@antagonist42 It's all done with harmonics.. when you overblow many wind instruments you get a series of notes called harmonics.. the begin with large intervals.. an octave then a fifth then a fourth and get smaller.. higher up the harmonic series there are many notes quite close together.. On this flute he is opening and closing the bottom hole to produce two seperte starting notes (fundamentals) and then overblowing on ech to give 2 different harmonic series..
Thank you for this video. I heard this tune played by Fomp folk-band. I like it. It is really nice. I make and play willow-flutes. But I know just two traditional tunes for this instrument. Can you help me to get more?
@psyxenon I may be able to help you. I bought one from a girl I studied with some years ago. She knew this guy who made em. I paied 200kr for it. Bout 27 american dollars. If you answer to this post I may be able to come in contact with her and buy you one and ship it.

Ja, vi i Fomp ;) använder mest flöjter som är gjorda av plaströr (PVC). 16 mm och uppåt...
