Great mod! Quick tip from a DIYer: The bit you were using to drill the hole is a Forstner bit. They are only intended to be used in a drill press. That would be why it was hard to get through and it smoked a lot. You need a good amount of continuous pressure with those. Try a spade drill bit next time. Ok, that's my tip. Happy modding!

what's that thing on the top left of the Jpanel? I noticed it had special wiring on it but I was thinking instead of drilling a hole I can just use that as the Coin/Select button for player one and extra wifi live button as the player 2 coin/select button. Or would that not work?
@@MysticDojo you can just use the “live” button if you don’t want to drill. Put player-1 coin in there and you can hide player-2 coin inside. Refer to the more recent video we did on a street fighter deluxe.

I modded a MK2 deluxe with a Pi 5, but I didn't keep it for even a year. The machine is just too small and cheap feeling for me so I went with a DIY kit from Gameroomsolutions. To drill plexi - get putty, even Play Doh, roll it out like you're making a pretzel (maybe about size and thickness of a thick highlighter marker) Now "pool it" around the plexi where you're about to drill, so that if you pour water, it wont leak.... then pour water, then drill, sloooooooowly- bit stays cool, plexi stays cool, hole gets drilled.
