Your house is amazing!! The garden is everything! I love how there are different sections in your garden, each with its own magic. So gorgeous! Also, with all the respect...I must say, I love how Charlie is not afraid to get dirty. So many youtuber husbands turn into such divas, always nice and pretty like a boy doll. But Charlie is different, showing himself in the must genuine way.. always saying what he is really thinking and not what would make him seem “perfect” .... it is very refreshing! In some ways this lock down has been such a gift for you guys. You’ve had the opportunity to really feather your nest. Thank you, Josie! These past weeks I've been discovering how hard it can be to get treated for a serious non-virus health issue while under virus regulations. It's been so nice to know that at least I will have a lovely half hour or so each day in the idyllic English countryside.
Bless you Josie, do not feel bad about missing an upload, daily uploads are a lot of work, it is important to take a break as and when you feel you need to. Listening to our mind and body is important for our health looks like you broke a sweat yesterday cleaning out the water-based areas. With all the gardening, in general, you are both getting a good workout in as well lol

Josie, I had to smile when Charlie said about his mums Le Creuset being over 20 years old... I was gifted by a friend( when she downsized her house) her late mother in laws Le Crueset..its at least 50years old and still going strong..... its great for heating mulled wine and large pots of stew when I batch cook.... have fun!

I had an idea for your duck pond island. Instead of grass, you might consider a clover lawn or a low groundcover plant so you don't have to worry about watering frequently but also you won't have to mow the lawn that way. ❤

That house is alive and has a vast history. Everything you do changes it for eternity. Might I recommend any fixtures you remove be labeled and stored. The church bells are magic! Love the water features. Such a special home!

Use vinegar and dish soap to kill weeds - don’t use weed killers in that beautiful garden. There are all types of natural weed killers you can make.

I loved the shots of you pouring yourself water from the pitcher while the church bells rang in the background. How amazing that must be to experience every day! One day I want to live in such a beautiful country house as this, it's such good inspiration for me. It looks like paradise!

On the duck island maybe just use some fine gravel compacted down with a plastic weed barrier underneath. That won’t need any maintenance at all and then just one or two tall plants in pots that you can just remove if they don’t work/die back/ get eaten by the ducks. That would give the ducks a platform to sit on in the sun and if they want to rummage through the grass they will make their own way across the pond into the rest of the garden 💕
If you’re worried about weed killer, perhaps you can cover the little island with a plastic sheet and then cover that with gravel. There are so many types and color stones to choose from. Some are quite beautiful. Then you can add some plants, potted flowers, maybe an ivy, since they do well in shade. Maintenance should be easy (no grass) and no weed killer needed.

Josie - I LOVE the belfry bells on the hour - I grew up hearing church bells wafting across the valley and it was such a comforting sound. At six p.m., the Congregational Church in the village played vespers hymns. Thus, we never forgot the source of the abundant blessings our people enjoyed.

I live on a 10 acre farm with about an acre in flower gardens. My gardening attire consist of a long sleeve shirt, overalls and Lacrosse waterproof boots. You've accomplished so much in such a short time period. Such a lovely life you and Charlie are making in your new home.

LeCrueset Brasier (the off white one you have) and the dutch ovens. are almost the only thing you ever need. I feed a family that includes 3 teenagers using those two pieces almost exclusively. They are wonderful and worth every cent.
