Never grudge anyone for what they have because you never know how hard that man or woman has to work to achieve what they have nuff respect to you i watch this with my kids and me grow up using dutch pots never saw how they were made my mother still have dutch pots pass down from my grandparents so we need to support our locals businesses because we are getting quality these Chinese pots we now seeing that looks good but after awhile starts to rust you will never see a dutch pot rust but we want fancy and not quality and that's why our country is like this so big up to you i do pray she get an investor and her business flourish in Jesus name continue to highlight contents like this
It really isn’t going anywhere. They’re just a version of a Dutch oven that utilizes local materials. It allowed them to recycle aluminum and aluminum is mined on the island. Their operations is highly inefficient, there’s so much room for improvement. Failed castings could be avoided and poorly insulated smelting which relates to unnecessarily high fuel costs. Other than being lighter, the pots aren’t better for actual cooking than cast iron counterparts. Poor heat retention makes it hard to brown/sear foods. That being said, I’d love to own one. Traditionally produced products like this fascinate me. I’d bring them some fire bricks and ceramic wool
Its really hard to find one in the UK, and if your not 'cookin' on Gas' dont bother , they dont work! These are aluminium , the ones I remember from my childhood were cast Iron and steel!
I bought a Dutch Pot in Downtown Kingston in August 2024 when I was in Jamaica. The idea was to retire my old dutchie. When I returned to New York, I scoured the old dutchie with steel wool and it was renewed. Now I have two! Glad to see the process of how the pots are made. Thank you!!
I'm happy to see the process...I came to Jamaica recently and purchase mi DUTCH POT fi carry back. When Di man in the market said $5,500, I was thinking to myself, that's expensive. But seeing the process, It's worth it. BIG RESPECT to Ms. Pansi and her workers.
This is the reason why Jamaicans succeed in any part of the world that they live. Jamaican people are all creative and resourceful. Blessings be upon Jamaica!

This man been making pots the old fashioned way, without precise instruments so he doesn't need to know the actual temperature that the aluminum melts. I looked it up for anyone wondering. 660 degrees Celsius.
I knew about it I'm from Guyana 🇬🇾 and my grandfather use to work at the foundry they where responsible for making iron rods pots pans etc but it was amazing to see it done with my own eyes thank for this video brother I need a order to come to Brooklyn 🙏💯🦾
I appreciate this video. It’s a pity we don’t see more young people learning the trade because skills like these can take an individual beyond the shores of Jamaica and into other territories around the world.
Thank you so much for showing how the pots are made. I truly respect the gentleman and the lady. It is a big task but they do it with love. And the other young keep it . There are many young out there , but don't want to work. Thank God I are doing a good job. Bless up yourself everyone.
Love, Honor and Respect to all the People who Makes Dutch Pots. Honestly, the work is very tedious and the process is very long but its worth while because the skill set is incredible 1000%.
Yes I agree and they work in the heat without proper gears. They can get burn anytime. We should pay more because they last a life time. Brought a small one 30 years ago and it's now it looks and cooks good.
My first set of Dutch Pot was brought in the early 1980s from Jamaicans in England. And today dem still look good as new...Interesting video. Thanks for sharing...

Very informative video. My Dutch pot is my prize position and I've never taken any thought into how it's made. I appreciate it even more now. Thanks for the info
I think when the workers are rubbing off the inpouretys off the pots they should wear a mask 😷 to prevent the metal dust from getting in there nostrils and in there lungs 🫁 it will sick them they're not feeling it now but miss LOU would say is not the same day leaf go a water bottom it rotten it takes a long time to rotten so please advise them and it's true that when these men is gone and if they don't teach the younger generation the work will die out because this job it only take a dedicated individual to stick to it because it's hard so that person will have to be dedicated blessings continually
May God bless this man and woman, I would pay it to train a few of the youths. Did you know that you can make a trade into collecting the metals around the country that he need and sell to him. He will have more materials and more production, grow and provide jobs.

It’s not that, I just wish they’d wear more PPE…there’s no need for them to be sacrificing their health and lifespan for a pot.
I will never question the price of a Dutch pot again...that's hard work for the local man!
Please don’t let this die with you guys. Teach the younger generation ( the ones that want to learn)
