  • Matteo Ricci was the first European to be allowed into China's Forbidden City. Trained in geometry and algebra, a young Italian Jesuit priest would soon discover that cosmology and the art of measuring time were at the very center of Chinese civilization and imperial authority, the Emperor’s Mandate of Heaven.

Really wish they would dub these videos so I can listen to them in the background.

I know right, I don't know how to read so subtitles make it difficult.

The visuals, costumes, scenary and the settings makes it come to life from far back in time, so is just FABULOUS!
...BUT isn't easy to understand bcuz the English language is a written script that's hard to read as it scrolls by far too fast so one must either put on pause so I can read the entire sentence OR continually rewind back to continue reading the last part of the entire sentence....
part way into this there were a few narrators....I'm very interested in learning all I can regarding Christianity being part of this Dynasty but I'll need to do some deep searches. ..maybe I'm not smart enough, I'm 70, but educated,

I think that you should deeper your knowledge. I was the Portuguese Jesuits the first to establish relations with China. It is also important the contribution of the Portuguese Jesuits that were expelled from Japan in China, who had a much deeper and sound knowledge about the Han characters meaning (Kanji in Chinese)

Manchurian just like those barbarians who destroyed Rome Empire. Real China (the great Ming) was ruined by those barbarians, Han Chinese call them Skin of Wild Tunguska Pigs.
