My Worst 4C Hair Mistakes.

- Hey Fam! In today's video I'm sharing my 3 biggest mistakes of my natural hair journey and how I plan to correct them moving forward. It's a journey and we're always learning!
What are some of your biggest hair regrets?
My hair was natural until High School when I thought my friends knew more than my mom. My parents didn't stop me from getting a relaxer but warned me that once I did the only way to get my natural hair back was to allow it to grow and cut off the relaxed hair as it grew or to simply cut off all the relaxed hair and start over. They also wouldn't allow me or my friends to apply the relaxer but insisted it be professionally done. A week after the relaxer was done when it was time to shampoo, I knew that I had messed up and would be cutting my waist-length hair off because I hated how the relaxed hair felt and acted. Six months later I cut off the relaxed hair and never thought about relaxing again. My friends thought I was crazy but I loved my natural hair even in its short state because I understood it and knew how to care for it. I had fun styling my short hair because I had not had that experience before. My mom was great at helping me with styles for it so I enjoyed growing it back.

Thank you! 😊
Whew so glad I decided to microloc my hair back in April 2020, I have about 300 locs. I do not miss detangling my 4c hair one bit. My hair is thriving, and longer than ever before, I’m locked for life!
Sounds beautiful!
Recently started implementing long term protective styling with my own hair and I swore off extensions. I agree there’s something about wearing my natural hair that feels me with pride and confidence that I have never felt when I have extensions
Yes! It's invigorating! Thanks for watching !
When I first started getting twist, I was always in rush and caused alot of breakage. After I learned to take my time i finally saw length retention.
absolutely!

Moisture I’m just learning how to care for my natural hair so learning and implementing moisture into my hair is my focus and caring for my ends and scalp health
I hear ya! Moisture is a big one for many people!
Rest in Peace to NappQueen 🥺
I'm so glad she's not forgotten 🥹🥹
Moisturizing is a game changer. I didn't know how to moisturize or that I had to. My hair is so soft. Glycerin has been a game changer.
I’ll try glycerin
My mistake is switching up too much. I have done just about everything (except w&g) Currently trying to figure out which type of natural style works for me for length retention
That makes sense, it can be tempting to change things constantly. Thanks for sharing!

One of my regrets was not paying attending to my protein intake and treatments cos it made me loose a lot of hair and was also part of my setbacks
