My goal with this video is to make the internet's most complete guide to what you should expect and what a day in the life of a Paramedic student is truly like.
Im an EMT right now. Put in some good work at an IFT company and they’re going to sign me up for state scholarships to go to medic school for free. Im planning on going to UCLA’s medic program next February. I do a lot of CCT’s with nurses and they’ve started coaching me up on ALS things. So I’m feeling confident for my medic school but again every medic has told me medic school is hell but. Nothing in life worth anything is easy.
Just wanted to give a shout out, thanks for your videos. They helped me get through EMT school last year. I just got hired as an ER tech at my local hospital. I plan on keeping my skills sharp there until I start Medic school this fall. Is working full time and going to Paramedic school simultaneously doable?
Hey Cody, thanks for reaching out here. Congrats and grab taking action! Yes, full-time and Paramedic school is DO-ABLE but not advised. Meaning of course if you can afford to work 24-30 hours versus 40-60 hours a week, you have less stress more time and more time to study. Do what you need to do of course but if you can get by with less take the extra time to your advanatage.
I want to go to EMT school then go to paramedic school. I’m starting at square 1. But I hope in 5-7 years, I’ll thank myself for even just thinking about chasing this goal. Thanks for the tips.
The math is fairly simple but you will run through biology, physiology, and pathophysiology because you need to understand how medications interact with the body at the cellular level
There is both math and science but the science focuses mostly on human biology (you’ll come across others but it all relates back to the person). Don’t let this discourage you though, just study hard and don’t be afraid to reach out for extra help!
