Used to be more common of a position tbh. Older style of refereeing

Hes a clinical poacher
Bro that referee really is MVP of the game 💀
That refree to the opposing team be like : "i got you bro "
"And was subsequently murdered"
Worst feeling for the referee, when their mistake cost the team a title.
How was it a mistake by the ref? At the time there was no specific rule to disallow it and the ref is seen as an equal part of the field of play. He couldn’t disallow it in absence of an allowing rule and as part of the field of play he’s not seen as an outside agent therefore there is no potential argument to disallow it that way
Also that whole "they lost the title because of this" argument is absurdly dumb. That game wasn't the last one of the season, they had plenty of other games to make up for it (especially against Galatasaray, but they failed to beat them the 2 times they faced) so it's on them and no one else.

In Brazil we had a club's massagist clearing a goal at the 89th minute of a round of 16 match for our 4th division. We also had a game that ended 0.5 x 0, because the shot was so potent the ball opened. The goalkeeper defended a shot and held the ball, but the shot was so strong that the inner tube of air escaped from the leather lining (it was the 50's). The goalkeeper ended up holding only the lining, while the inner tube entered the goal. The referee then decided it was half a goal, so the game ended half to zero.
0.5 x 0? I'm curious on what game was that now 😅
😂😂😂😂lol
I would like to see a short on that as well
What? the rile is that the whole of the ball must cross the whole of the line. Clearly a part of the ball never did.

Yeah thats why i was confused i got it mixed with a pen for split second then i was confused
maybe due to all the passing in the box the ref came back post to have clear vision of hands which would result to pens, imo he should've just awarded a corner and not a goal but mistakes happen
Turkish league so I will say match fixing
@@crimson8864nah, you shouldn’t ever be back post as a ref. You stand on the 18 yard box on the opposite side your linesman is on, as the linesman has view of handballs from the other side. This ref is just an idiot

Similar thing happened in Mexico (LigaMX), but instead a ref deflected a goal bound shot and it wasn’t counted. The game was Cruz Azul vs Toluca in Guardianes 2021
The refs apart of the game of course it’s a goal 😂
How is it a goal dumdum

I suppose you have to think of the referee as a part of the pitch furniture. The ball can bounce off a corner flag, a goal post, or the referee.
Unfortune for the referee?? Bro was stationed like a striker 😅
Wow so they didn’t let the other team score straight after
most teams in the world don't care about fair play tho
Back in the days when the referee was counted as part of the pitch as opposed to a foreign body.

The Ref Has More Goals Than Anthony This Season😂
To football fans here, is this still (technically) possible? In hockey for example the rule is if the puck goes off the referee and directly into the net, the goal is disallowed. However, If the puck hits any player or their stick after it’s deflected off the ref, it’s a good goal. I feel this rule really should be applied if it isn’t already
No, its not. Now, if the ball touches the referee, the game stops and referee has to start the game again.
"So who is the man of the match?"
"The ref"
"Why is it, when something happens, it is always you three?"
Professor Minerva McGonagall : [to galatasaray, fenerbache, & besiktas]
why is no one talking about the fact that the map gave turkey extra lands from greece
Referee was MOTM😂
"the referee had no choice but to award the goal"
I can think of another choice he could've made 🤔
Referees were considered a part of the field of play up until very recently. It would have been improper for him to apply the rules differently to how they were written just because there was an unintended outcome that people find undesirable.
I'm glad they made the rule change, but there's nothing the ref could have done that fell within the laws of the game at the time.
Well than youre thinking wrong cuz the ref did the right thing even tho it was pretty awkward.
Nestor Pitana in 2021: Hold my assist
It happened also in Brazil - Palmeiras X São Paulo 1983, ref José de Assis Aragão!
During a 1983 game between Santos and Palmeiras in Brazil, this same situation happened too.
imaging someone would´ve bet on that the ref would score at that match
the payout would´ve been brutal
Anthony Taylor, Matheu Lahoz, Simon Hooper, Mike Dean, Ovrebo : "are challanges us to score?"
I was a referee and knew an older ref who scored a goal -- from outside the box (got in the way of a clearance). We speculated that, at lower levels where there are no assistants, you could potentially say you didn't see it go in.
They've changed the laws now, thankfully, so it shouldn't be possible. Then again referees failed to call off the beach-ball goal even when they should have, so maybe a mistake could still be made.
The old rule said play had to carry on as 'the ref is part of the pitch' like if it hit a goalpost or a lump of snow 😂
It's the same reason the infamous 'Liverpool beachball goal' had to stand (look it up, it's nuts)
“Enkağra kuçu”
“Besiktsas”
At this point I feel like it’s important for me to remind myself that it’s only a game.
"Fine, ill do it myself." ahh ref
That referee had more goal in 1986 than Antony in 2024💀
Still better than some of the refereeing in the Premier League this season..
Well better than losing a title like this tbo
I hope he didn't get killed cause you never know with those Turkish fans...
Besiktas president later called him on the phone and confronted him, saying that he belives it was a mistake an he shouldn't be ashamed. Besiktas fans were angry but since the president was a very respectable person ( even now he is considered best football team president) they didn't do anythink to the referee.
Video missing footage of the actual goal.
In 1983 in Brazil, a game between Palmeiras and Santos also had a goal "scored" by the ref...
Imagine a refree having more goals then Anthony
I wonder how many times he practiced saying
that 😂😂
They now have a rule that if the ball touched the referee it's a drop ball

I swear the weirdest referee things happen in turkey😂😂
These goals should be disallowed. I remember once seeing a game in the mexican league (i think it was pumas vs cruz azul) and the ball was 100% going in but it hit the back of the ref's foot and the goal was disallowed.
Yeah and they say besiktas is paying the ref these gala fans
That's the worst possible sequences that could happened 😂
As a Beşiktaş fan, this hurts
I want to know if Joe Gomez has more appearances than him 😂😂😂
Now this goal will not be convalidated, luckly.
I never played or watched soccer but how do you not score in an hour and a half 😭😭
Probably the points they dropped in other matches were the main problem.
He had no other choice but to reward a goal. He had many choices, he was just in on it 💰
My dad always talked about this and it is still the biggest robbwey of all time imo.
The way he drew the referee.
Its look like freddie mercury
Imagine being that ref...
Dodtum ben Türkiye'nin en büyük kulübü olan Beşiktaş'lı doğdum
No VAR to check if he (referee) was offside. Sad😢
"Forced to award the goal". Referees aren't actually forced to apply the rules by the book. The referee has every right to deny the goal. He could easily have used another rule (like the rule that states when a referee touches the ball the play stops??) to give a corner or something instead.
I can't find that rule in the 1986/87 rule book.
Law IX - Ball in and out of play.
The ball is out of play:
(a) When it has wholly crossed the gol-line or touch-line, whether on the ground or in the air.
(b) When the game has been stopped by the Referee.
The ball is in play at all other times from the start of the match to the finish including:
(a) If it rebounts from a goal-post, cross-bar or corner-flag post into the field of play.
(b) If it rebounds off either the Referee or Linesmen when they are in the field of play.
(c) In the event of a supposed infringement of the Laws, until a decision is given.
Never knew Freddie Mercury was a referee
the team is proballlbly feeling pretty embarased to lose to a referee
No one:
Liverpool this season:
I remember once in my youth team we were playing this team the goalkeeper had just made a save he passes to me as the lb I dribble for a bit play it to the cam but then when the cam tries to pass it down the wing for the counter it bounces off the refs foot right onto the feet of the striker and since were countering or were there is no one in the box the team scores and we are one nil down because of a refs assist
Sounds like FIFA refs for Argentina.
Imagine if he went SUIII 😂😂😂
Çok şükür bunuda kimseye kaptırmadık
As a ref… why tf is he standing at the back post??
He should have given a drop ball because that is what happens when the ref touches the ball when it is in play
That's not what was in the rule book at the time.
