    Few after market manufacturers will go through the thought process of using a countersunk bolt and building up the material to effectively countersink an Allen head bolt. Looks clean and and no hang ups. At the end of the day, you are still taking off only four fixings for service as you would with the factory item. Short but sweet Josh, looks the business and will certainly protect ya business

      Yeah man they really come out with some well designed gear. The bashy on my 500 is B&B as well, real simple unit but tough and easy as pie to fit and remove. What more do you need. Thanks for the comment Clint 🤟

      B&B are amazing, The supplied bolts for the 19 CRF450R radiator braces had hex bolt heads and would dig into your knees.
      Called the owner of B&B and we did RnD together and refined the bolts to a mushrooom head. No more cut up inside of knees.
      I believe they are the only aussie mob who can provide 5mm, 318 stainless braces and plates.
      Remember to blue loctite your bashplate bolts ^^

  • @diablos2878
    @diablos2878 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    4m 51s, That nut isnt a nylon lock nut. it requires 'serviceable thread lock', aka "blue loctite".
    Rule number one in the workshop. Thread lock EVERYTHING that isnt already a lock nut (castle nut, nylon nut, spring washer loaded nut, flanged nut, tabbed lock nut etc etc)
    The only exception is internal parts, some things cant be thread locked else they cant be torqued accuratley.
    my rule; if it aint an oily thread; chemical lock it.

    • @MVDBR
      @MVDBR  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I'm whipping it off shortly before it goes in for a service anyway. You're right it would be a good idea to loctite them although I never have with the 500s bashy and not had a problem, but it's a bit of a different setup

    • @diablos2878
      @diablos2878 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to giggle because you had your loctite sitting there under your bike but forgot to use it.
      Ive lost too many bolts over the years, even when they were FT...
      Loctite costs $5.00...
      Replacement shiny bolts cost a bit more...
      Just use the 'medium' strength, serviceable stuff...

    i want to add you didn't have the centerstand when you did this. a bit of advice for one that HAS the centerstand. only install one of the frame bolts one at a time. this does two things . it assures you your not crossthreading and it makes it a "TON" easier to line up the oem centerstand bolts on the left side which thread through EVERYTHING except the spacers for the centerstand!!!

    • @KLRmurdercycle
      @KLRmurdercycle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a sport engine tucked inside an offroad frame. Katy Ems have been at the forefront. All the other guy see the potential especially now the emissions bell tolls. If kawai ever remakes the klr I'm sure it will go this direction as well. In canada this T7 would be pushin $15k with registration, taxes, financing.
