You have such an old school TH-cam enthusiasm, and I really love your energy. I used to collect a lot of card decks when I was a kid ( Mostly whole punched ones from old casinos) But it's really refreshing to see someone go At such a great length about something, they're passionate about. Keep it up my guy
Kems are amazing but can tend to bow. Store them upside down with a cut card on top. Also Bridge sized cards are what almost all card rooms use for poker.
You should compare Bicycles pre2018 vs post. The decks I have feel wildly different and I can’t tell whether I’m just thinking things or if there is an actual difference.
I can’t believe how expensive a deck of good (made in USA) playing cards is now. Bee was always my favorite and “go to” but I have several Bicycle decks too. Great channel here. I’m glad I found it.
Oh shoot I just sold my KEM plastic cards and kept the ace ones! they started chipping already lol. I always slept on the copags, they look really cool with the bright colors!
Thank you for a great tour through 100% plastic playing cards. Very informative, interesting and fun. The only thing I was hoping for but didn't get was the type of plastic used in each deck. Not all 100% plastic cards are PVC. KEM I know uses a composite (which does indeed chip). Not that this information is critical to know but as a retired Plastics Engineer I was curious.
Glad you enjoyed it! And regarding the plastic, you're right! There are different types of plastic being used. I don't know much about the plastics other than to avoid the cheap stuff. That tends to be the PVC hard stuff from China mostly. I'll look into it more for the next one! Thanks for the suggestion!
I have some copag texas Holdem poker deck, I have been playing with it for a couple days. I noticed that the letters and symbols are starting to erase. Am I the only one ?
Nah that happens with heavy use. Some chip, some warp, some fade, some clap out. Make sure they're real and not fake ones. I know some fake cards are out there!
Wish you had gone a little more in detail on why Faded Spade is only good for collection. Is it because it is more pricey than Copag while the quality is similar? I am thinking of gifting a friend who regularly hosts home poker a set of Faded Spade poker cards. I did some research and people claimed those are the best cards you can get.
I know Diggo mentioned the other WPT branded cards in the beginning, but as far as Faded Spade, they are as of right now the official brand that they use in their tournaments. I have even seen them being used at a few casinos and card rooms on various poker videos, blogs, and live streams. So I say if you want to gift your friend a deck, then by all means do it. If it's good enough for the WPT, it has to be good for his home game.
what is the best paper playing cards in your opinion? So far I have bicycle, theory 11 paper playing cards. What do you think of art of play playing cards? which high quality paper playing cards would you recommend?
It's kinda interesting, I bought the Bullets Playing Cards on Amazon and two decks for around 15€ was quite cheap. Maybe it's because I'm from Germany and they are from Germany. Anyway, I love Bullets.😁
Back in around 2005 or so, I bought a pack of clear bicycle plastic cards just like that hoyle pack. I hated them but they were a novelty item so I kept them. They've never even been shuffled but I just looked at them and 2 of the kings have white streaks from a manufacturing issue. For a collector, its pretty cool to have but to play with, they're garbage.
Hello, I’m new in the world of playing cards. I’m very confused about da Vinci cards and modiano are those the same brand ? Or Just a rebranding ? I also bought a few sets from Copag and Kem, not having a great experience with Copag breaking easily but having amazing back designs.
As far as cheap decks go. I like the Teskyers. You are right about the back design. Seems like I'm playing with wallpaper or curtains. Not my style but I'll play with them. Another cheap option is the Integear brand. Even cost less than the Teskyers but in my opinion a much better back design. They look like Persian rugs for the back design. My only gripe is the tuck flap. Kind of pain to reclose. I can't say much about the other brands except for Bikes Prestige and Copag Elite. In my opinion Copag or Copag Elite is a better deck over the Bikes Prestige. For me I just love handling the Copags over the Bikes. Our Cribbage Club uses Copag Elites. It's a work horse deck that doesn't hurt so much when you have to retire the deck. So for me Copag and Copag Elite is my favorite since it's the best bang for your buck, with good quality, and very accessible. Kems might be the Covette. Copags are the Honda Accord or Toyota RAV4. Playing games I want the balance of my decks. I believe that Copag is the winner in this category.
Great video review! Love the comparisons and tips. I’m in Australia and the Jacks are readily available for a reasonable price - slightly less than Copags and way less than Kems. What’s your thoughts on Jacks overall vs Kems and Copags?
I love the Jacks, I'd say they are highly comparible to Copags. They are not like KEMs. KEMs are their own thing, you'd have to feel em to understand. Jacks are great though!
I'm curious, is there a significance of back design for playing? you mentioned the ones with a brown back design would not be good, or would only be good for a family game, and I'm curious why.
It’s just because they’re so different that they can be distracting. Usually the back designs should be sporty or classical backs to keep the game feeling focused in my opinion. Just an opinion really.
tnks for your videos /could you please make a video of bicycle prestige after years of playing ? is the colors disappearing ? (the quality of cards and colors i mean after years )
I looove the video, soo in depth and interesting, i'm buying some copags the next month. Ive heard some amazing things a out them. Also, I would put plastic playing cards in the card control and cheating category too, a lot of people use them and practize with plastic decks.
You don't like bridge size? I think smaller cards are better. Besides, I play a lot of Bridge Hunt (2 decks - 14 cards in hand) and the standard size can tire my hand much quicker than the smaller and lighter bridge sized. I was looking for plastic cards like there used to be around 20 years ago, my brother ruined most of them by leaving them in the sun, that fool... Anyway, I'd pick pretty much any plastic cards over paper any day, preferably the bridge sized and normal index. I don't mind even if it's smooth plastic (i might even prefer it), the textured face just makes the cards slide more and requires a much firmer grip which hastens my hand getting tired. The biggest drawback in most cards (for me) is the fact that there's only 2 jokers. Piatnik cards should come with 3 jokers though. But they can be a bit too expensive sometimes (and most are paper), I'd rather pay around 5usd per deck (or less) than their 35usd price tag for 2 decks. What would you recommend for bridge sized cards, 52+3 jokers, regular size index?
O maaaaaaan..... thank you so much for this informative video and for saving my ass 😅, you really do because i was about to waste 10s of dollars so thank you so much for everything. Just one question please , is there any difference in the size of Bicycle - Prestige Rider Back & Bicycle standard once ?
I can't stand the new Hoyle Waterproof cards. I wish they still made the traditional red and blue "Shellback" decks - you know which ones. Those are my favorite.
I agree, Copag stink and I feel like they are going to give me some cancer as a special bonus. I literally just got the WSOP 2023 bridge size jumbo index. I am going to purchase a Faded spade set bridge size in red and blue to replace the WSOP set at my table. Hearing the faded spade kick the Copag in the family jewels, and of course my KEM bridge size jumbo index are my favorite. Diggo get out of my brain!!! Lol

I’ve also heard that placing a heavy book on them for a few days works too.

Out of the two, which would you recommend? The Modiano platinum cellulose acetates, or modern cellulose acetate Kem decks? Price isn't a factor.

I am thinking of gifting a friend who regularly hosts home poker a set of Faded Spade poker cards. I did some research and people claimed those are the best cards you can get.
They're hard to get sometimes because they sell out and that causes people to hoard them like jaggle beans.

Thin crushed USPCC or Bee stock is the best imo.

I like how the Ace cards have Pips that are in between standard index and jumbo index. The font on numbers are also different, and pleasing to my eye.
