Excellent soviet toy quality, that T-55 deserves a red star in the turret
Judging from the position of the fume extractor I would say it is a T-62.
I just learned that this week so I just had to show of my new found knowledge.
Also, I may be totally wrong 😁
T 55 CCCP !
T-62 turret on a T-55 hull.
I worked in the Polish army, this is the T 64 or T 72 tank, you can tell it from the gun.
Watch the Polish movie about tankers: "Czterej Pancerni i pies"
Back from the days when a toy could take your eye out. I miss em.
miss what, the days or your eyes? 🤙
Back in the days when children aren't stupid as today.
Ok boomer
@@kitsophrenik xD
Remember lawn darts?
I am very intrigued by the firing mechanism. I tried modeling a toy tank in my CADD class but I never could figure out how to have it fire projectiles. now I know, plus I also have better idea on how to better break it up into components like this particular item. all in all 10/10, great restoration work and interesting toy design.
Look for toy cannon (игрушечная пушка). Also metall. watch?v=g1-PRsTB9z4 (restoration, but without locking mechanism) watch?v=FIa8cFcne_0 (random guy, but fully functional gun)
@@oberguga The device was very simple. The spring-loaded pusher was cocked by a lever under the turret and fixed. He was held by a metal plate, this is a piece of iron on a tower in the form of a button. A shell was loaded into the mine. By pressing the button on the turret, you release the pusher, and it ejects the projectile.
One bit of advice: you really should use matt or at least satin paint. I think your tank would look better with that finish.
Military vehicles were (almost) always painted in matte varnish. Besides, nice restoration.
@Todd Minert Look on the bright side: I wrote the comment for you ;-)
Well, sandblaster and lathe would be a great Christmas gift for me too.
I was going to say the same thing, you know what they say great minds think.
Even a matt varnish to finish would have done the job
@Todd Minert It's just that you've never seen this tank in the store. Rows of shiny tanks in cardboard boxes and children who dream of it. It was one of the most expensive and desired Soviet toys. I had one.
ps
The number on the tower coincided with the year of issue.
They have always been glos. When it is more, the kongda is less, but it always glos.
I rather like the nature sounds. Well done!
Back in the days when Russian Children were loading sharp pencils in a tank as a projectile to play,
while in another part of the world me, "MOM My BurGer HaD lEss SauCE"...
John Wick?
I personally used to do it. Originally there was a set of rubber shells to load and shoot. When I lost all of them I just cut pencils in several short pieces and sharp them and load from the top as used to do it with the rubber munition. This was one of the best toys I've ever had.
@@armanabventure7753
i though the bullets would be solid steel or aluminum
@@armanabventure7753 So you deliberately made a toy more dangerous?
whoaa!!! it's that tank from tiananmen square in 1989!
Oh boy this is really really cool tank toy ever. sometime old toys is better than nowadays toys
Nice job toys like this were built to last so a rebuild can give another generation of kids something cool to play with
This tank has saw many actions in combat great to have it again restored to it's former glory
Mostly getting destroyed by better tanks.
The moment at around 3:35 where something flies off is the most realistic thing I've seen on one of these videos. Only way it could be more real is if it went under some furniture or a shelf.
Watch the Polish movie about tankers: "Czterej Pancerni i pies"
these are toys, will never be made like B4 this was a true bring back friend👍🏼😊
As someone who was a child in 1980s USSR I can confirm the pencil thing. I didn't have this awesome tank, but my friend had howitzer with a similar firing mechanism and we shot pens and pencils out of that thing a lot.
This must have been such a cool toy ... wish i had this as a child
I wish you a nice day ❤️❤️
👍😭😭🤔😩😟😍🥰🥰😁😲😖😘
enjoy your next 24 hours
thx
2to
Thank
Very nice job. I thought it was a coin bank at first. Wonderful restoration!
Excellent toy.. VERY well built. A great restoration.. That owl didn't let up at all calling for a mate. ..
👍👍A bloody master.
Nice! Such a cool toy! That would never get sold today - can't have little Johnny shooting his eye out.
Cars, motorcycles and planes are shining ! But a tank ...? I have never seen a shiny tank ! Please try again !
It resembles a T-55 tank..... nice toy. :)
@Fred Jones I know but the toy still resembles T-55 more.... In my opinion 😊
@Fred Jones I agree when it comes to fumes extractor. However, the arrangement of the wheels resembles that of a T-55. Actually, why are we arguing??? LoL 🤣 it's a toy tank and one that is very well made.
What amazing quality in a kid's toy!
Went from "Nyetsy" to "Etsy". Nicely restored!
...that sure was a good restoration job...at first glance I thought it was an M-48 US Army Tank...then I saw the road wheels with no support rollers...and I thought...that's a Russian T-34 Tank...but then it looked like a few Russian Tanks...LOL...I trained on the M-48 and served in Germany on an M-60A1...in 1966...THANK YOU FOR THE SPLENDID JOB...I'm going to try and build one of wood...keep up the good work...!!!
a very nice job! Toys we never get to old for toys.
That tank is really cute :3 (and btw i really want it😂)
Great . Very good restoration. I have a similar tank when I was 5 years old but mine didn't shoot projectiles. It was a pleasure to watch. Keep on keeping on.
after applying the paint remover cover in strips of newspaper and wrap in Saran Wrap. Let it sit for a day or 2.
Masterful refurbishment of a classic, Paul - fantastic !! 😀
17:53 reminds me of the siege tank in Dune II
A shiny tank? Either way, looks swell. Nicely done.
6:32 Watching these switches are ok makes me comfortable
When I was about 12 or so. I made a model tank that worked by remote control . When I say remote , I mean it had two wires coming out of the back that went to a handset control . This was years before we had radio control , and it was smaller then the one shown here . The family cat was terrified of it . And would hide behind a chair when ever I played with it . One day I left it on the floor . The cat ran out from her hiding place , and gave it one hell of a swipe with her paw, knocking the turret off . It was held on by a plastic rivet , it must have been one hell of a bang !
Good ASMR
I had the same T-55 in my 1980's childhood, but made out of plastic. This metal T-55 is clearly from 70's.
What a a great restoration! Thanks for sharing this.
Good job 👍 I like thanks so stay safe and stay home see you next time
the tank is a T-44 well done job, mate!!
Very beautiful congratulations
Very nice job .
Schöne Spielzeug, geiles Arbeit.
Bravo!
That is a beautiful restoration.
That’s really cool, I thought that the turret, when stripped down, looked like a surprised C3PO 😊
I can kinda see the resemblance but it’s missing the nose and stuff
Awesome restoration
That's beautiful work.
Tanks for the video! Nice job on the restoration of this thing.
I like this video watching this after seconds of uploading 👌
I always love restoration videos
Really nice just Needs a red star
Wow what a restoration. Good job.
Beautiful job
What size air compressor do you have.
wow what a rusty tank 😱👍
thats a real toy, in the future nothing to restore, everything now is cheap plastic junk. would love to have that tank. i am 44 year old but i would play with it.
Turned out very nice!
That's a fucking solid toy, nowadays you drop a toy and it crumbles to pieces
What toys are you dropping?
Dobra robota wygląda jak T-55 .Pozdrawiam 👍🇵🇱
The most tedious part I bet was cutting the numbers at the end. Lol
Loved the restoration. Wish you could restore my life. 😂
Dang this looks like a great toy!!!! I wish we had something like that in America when I was a kid. But no our lawyer controlled and pansy parent’s wouldn’t even let out Battlestar Galactica you’d shoot a tiny plastic bullet 2 feet.
I grew up in a post-eastern block country, but it was already after the fall of the Soviet Union. Stuff like this makes me really sad, that I didn't grow up in the commie era. They just don't make things like these anymore. (I should note that I'm not a commie, for the sake of this comment, but childhood back then seemed to be better.)
Very interesting, it’s amazing to see how the restoration was conducted and what’s it starting and finishing quality was like. Do you have any background knowledge on it; I.e. Who owned it, where it was from, how many was made etc?
Okay I'll build it myself, thanks for deconstructing it
It was Erie the way that turret looked from the top.
It looked like a skull!
Not a bad thing, just an an interesting coincidence.
WOW, Amazing job. Thanks for Sharing!
I'd love to have one of those but the gloss paint makes the veteran in me cry.
Just looked up your ETSY , seems you are about 50k from me , just across the border ))).
Nice restoration . From aesthetics viewpoint i prefer the T34 )))
Amazing
Nice work
FANTASTIC!!!!
Nice job
why cant toys be this cool anymore?
Cause violence!
violence is just an excuse, political correctness was the true cause.
I don't know where did you get it from but I had the same tank when I was a child 20 years ago. Originally it had white rubber munition that fit the holes on the back on both sides. I am not sure but these toy tanks were produced in Soviet Union. I still have it in my parents house.
Did those toy tanks have a name ot the company name on it?
@@tranques8075 don't know, but as you can see in the video there is a Russian text on undersurface. I think this is it.
@@armanabventure7753 that's the price, 9 rubles :) Because prices were declared by government, they usually were printed by manufacturer on the package or the thing itself.
Very nice model. Die cast models were in vogue now all plastic
WOW! She's a beauty. I wish I had a toy like that, back in those days. But I used to have Tonka toys back then. The thing I remembered was a jeep and a tractor . Which I still have up to now. But it's missing the front tires. I don't know where to get and buy those parts here in Manila. I've tried online but I haven't seen one just like it Anyway, VERY NICE resto work.

This bloke does restos on old Tonkas. Might be able to find some help over there?
Perfect job bro...very nice restoration 👍
wow thats cool
Look like it's a soviet tank. Great work !
Amazing job.....👍👍👍❤️
