I agree with everything said. I adapt everywhere but don't get along with toxic, close minded, carbon copy, "alpha" males. I only seek my own approval. Power struggles and leadership has no interest to me as I want to grow by learning. I turn off my emotions especially in stressful situations, unless it's to crack an unruly joke at everyone's bewilderment. I'm not afraid of being hated for sticking to my morals in a sick society that naturally hates people with integrity. I don't compare myself to others as I only compete with myself at the dismay of many. I don't seek anyone's approval because I choose my integrity over social enslavement. I can keep a secret because of high integrity. No I'm not perfect but that's another chapter...

The journey of the sigma male is often wrought with surprises and hidden talent. Don't ever discount your ability to lead, even though you may never have led, and it repulses you. You see, you adapt, and so you don't lead like alpha's, and it works magnificently. I ought to know, as I did it my first job, working with older teenagers. I discovered my hidden talent of being able to lead, only, I was young enough at the time, when I was done there, I didn't consider it a talent really, and due to the rules I impose on myself, any leadership anywhere else, would require some time, and though I did get a number of shots at leadership again, I turned them down due to circumstances. Lamely enough, I ended up in charge anyway, but without a position of leadership strictly speaking.
For those that can manage it being in charge for say a night shift, is killer, because you practically have no boss at all, since the overall boss worked day shift only. Man, I'd almost pay to have that sort of job again, and it really paid off later in my work career, because I kicked ass when many are sitting on their ass moaning about not being paid enough. I saw reputation for future employers and killed it. No matter how badly I mangled my future job interviews, I was told to report to work the next business day they talked to me, even for jobs I knew nothing about. That sigma vibe and that first job success, must've really carried me. The choice was simple at that first job, endure some really crappy leaders, mostly high school kids as well, or become the boss with almost no boss. And perhaps best of all, I was making some decent bread, because I was working some pretty long hours. I probably could've worked seven days a week if I were a dumbass, but somehow sanity prevailed. Hmmm, maybe that wasn't so bad an idea now that I think of it, because I never closed with my GF and if I worked Saturday night, we might've closed together🧠. I don't know, because I bet she was one of them that just worked rush hours, but boy, just being around her five more seconds every day, if that's the only way I could manage it, would've been super. It wasn't work when she was around, as we were more or less dating on the job.
If you ever doubt you carry an serious vibe with you, consider the following. I had one job interview, where the manager wanted to hire me, and I thought they liked me, but at the very end he asked me if I "were a partier", because he said you have to be a partier to work there. You see what I mean? He could tell I wasn't one of them, and I said I wasn't, so I left. He also damaged my chances agreeing, when he told me they were "the 16th largest check making company in America". Seriously, when he told me that I almost got down on the floor and started convulsing. There's very few times I can hold back absolute break free laughter, but I managed it then, and he was all so serious about that brag too. So imagine, he tells me that, and then the line about being a partier, and I'm quite serious, I got to my car, rolled up the windows, and just burst out laughing to the top of my lungs some five minutes straight. Seriously, I was concerned I would never stop, and what would happen if I didn't.

Pretty close to perfection. A huge Sigma trait yet to be mentioned, in case I missed it, is the ability to make an adjustment or adjustments on the fly. Enormous ability to adapt into whatever is necessary. Stern in position and views yes. As well, a chameleon of incredible accuracy, if necessary?

All of my life I've lost "friends" and jobs by never compromising. I wouldn't change any of it.
I don't get comfortable with society, I make society uncomfortable. Lol.
Not bending to others ways however, does not mean lacking compassion and empathy for (nearly) everyone. Most of us are fighting a personal battle that hardly anyone else knows about. I do my best to practice kindness when I actually go out.
Secrets. I could write 1000 pages of secrets people have confessed to me. I never would though. Some things are sacred and deserve respect through silence. Those words weren't meant for the ears of others.
    Stay strong Sigmas!

The fact that men here in the comments are saying; “I’m a sigma” actually proves they’re not.
A real sigma would never do that.

Again I think I match 90% with some nuances. I am now 42 and haven't been this much of a match to this all my life. Some features became sharper over time and through hardship mostly. These videos tell us all the time we are apart. I can't fit myself or others 100% of the time into these descriptions, but mostly I can. I would very much enjoy videos that explore the grey zones, those approximately 10%-25 of times we don't rise to the description. I have had my downtime too when I didn't achieve my goals but I held through. I am sure many others have had their down time too.

Thank you! What I feel like sharing. I adapt. Success and results depend on my ability to do whatever it takes. My vision flabbergasts even my closest friends and provoke immense skepticism. Asking for approval is like asking a fish permission to climb a tree. I am an attentive listener. What is said and unsaid. Many mean what they say. Most do not say what they mean. I am after the highest truth not hearsay. The only way is to experiment and discover for myself. 😁

Great video. This sounds like the foreign policy of the United kingdom. You always have time for friends like the United States , and you stay true to your own values at the same time. For example, unconventional actions like trading more Dollars than the USA do, thus reinforcing their primary reserve status, and whilst also being their largest foreign direct investor which is intended to be win-win.

The leadership portion is precisely accurate. Looking back, I was extremely lucky to work in leadership positions for people who saw that I would benefit them, the organization and everyone around me by allowing me to be curious and suggest/develop/implement/design operations systems, etc. I was able to get experience in management, corporate projects, finance, high level operations, marketing and the satisfaction of seeing the returns for everyone, including myself. Now, I refuse to accept any leadership position where I would be expected to be just in a specific role and not allowed to do anything else. I've turned down various positions over the last decade and chose exactly what the video says - focusing on myself. I did well enough early on to be able to just work a job I'm insanely overqualified for - so it's zero stress - with great benefits and punch a clock and not concern myself with it whatsoever. They had, and still don't, have any idea what I did before. Hiding in plain sight and loving it. It's peaceful and I can just study, relax, work on whatever projects I want and enjoy hobbies in my spare time.

One more thing where I am going to be my contrarian self.. True we don't look for validation or approval (most of the time,). But to be honest before I saw these videos I was not conscious that what set me apart from groups and crowds really were strengths to be cultivated. I had a bit of self-doubt (never so much to sway my course especially if rubbed the wrong way), and in particular with women. These videos have still come along as (fortifying) validation that those features need to be cultivated and it was not my innate wisdom that they should.

I'm beginning to think the sigma male message is mirroring the female MCS (main character syndrome) message. As in... Your unique, your smart, you cut bad people out of your life, you don't fashion you style, your a deep thinker, injustice bothers you, your in control of your emotions, you weigh all sides carefully... ect... I don't know, it seems a bit like telling the audience what they want to hear.

There is no such thing as a ‘Sigma’. People fall into three broad categories that are defined by their susceptibility to suggestion. The majority are suggestible to varying degrees. These are who advertising is aimed at. The people who care about fashion, trends, love crowds, and fitting in. Then there is the Anti-Suggestible. These people knee jerk in reaction against any suggestion or attempted influence. These are the folks who are just a predictable as the followers in their opposition to being led. The folks reverse psychology works on. And then there is the Non-Suggestible. The people who are unaffected by the opinions of others, and either ignore, or are oblivious to suggestion. They cannot be hypnotized even if they want to be. These are what you folks think of as ‘sigmas’. However, the thing is, you Can NOT learn to be one. Suggestibility is an inborn trait that you cannot alter. It’s not an accomplishment. It’s how your brain is wired. So do not bother even trying.
