- The key points are to keep a steady throttle, ideally, 1k-1.5k RPM, 4LO, 1st or 2nd gear, keep the steering straight whenever possible, and let ATRAC do its thing.

Cleghorn CA. You don't always need a lock. ATRAC will get you pretty far.

Impressive driving and great vehicle! I have a 2005 4Runner similar to yours that I'm only modifying in a moderate way, 2 inch lift and slightly bigger tires, making it a super stocker. Wow, coming right off the showroom floor, Toyota 4x4s can wheel just about anywhere. Great job!

air down to 15to18PSI, 4HI and you're good. Airing down is KEY.

Sometimes 4lo is easier on the car. It really depends on how well you know your car.

Just curious, did you drop your tire pressure in this vid? It looked like it may have been high.
You should check it out! They have by-pass on all the hard stuff. I lowered it to 22-23PSI because I was too lazy to air back up later. I usually run 18-20PSI. It's been serving me just fine. But if I think I'll need more traction, then 15PSI is lowest I went.

its just a universal one I found on eBay. it was 100 bucks. I don't recommend it because it rusts really easily. I have now taken it off.

It is always on. It directs power left or right, and front and rear.

Sounds like you need some Doug Thorley Headers. Mine started the ticking at around 180K

Don’t get the JBA ones! Even though they are carb legal I wasted 20 hours installing and removing 2 leaky sets

It is aftermarket. They're 200 series "style" for the 100.
Is this the same system that the tundra has? Auto lsd and atrac?
No LSD on the LC. Not sure if it is the same system on the Tundra

DK_Adven all the UK 100 series come with the rear locker and most are 4.2td straight six diesel. Really impressive the way it just keeps going

2000 and newer came with ATRAC. LC & LX.
@@KraziAzn2 I gotcha. I'm actually looking at a 2000 LC with 200k miles. Seller says timing belt done at 150, had brakes and bearings done at 190k miles, now has fox 2.0 shocks, ome torsion bars, and a few other random things like arb bumper, warn winch, and dual battery setup. He also said the frame and undercarriage is clean. He's asking 7500.00. is there anything else I should look for/ask? And do you think this is a fair price?

I don't have a rear locker. As you can tell, with the help of ATRAC, a center lock is enough.

Yup. 4LO, kept it around 1.1k to1.5k RPM
Were you also in low gear. Or you left your gear in D mode.
Get that exhaust leak fixed.

Thanks! The ticking noise is a cracked header. Typical wear item on these rigs. But it does not affect the way it drives.
