The part I don't understand is which ones can go in a cabinet (built-in or freestanding). If the ventilation is at the bottom on the front, would it matter which one?

Liebherr for instance rates the capacity in Bordeaux bottles. From a storage perspective this format is more handy to store bottles compared to the more “rounded” Burgundy type bottles.

Yes you will be fine with any drinks in there as long as they are sealed.
