True answer? If you're starting over, you already have experience and you don't need cheapies as a gateway. So you might just get one, maybe two. Why get five fragrances with an average price of 25-35 bucks when you could get one really solid fragrance, maybe two? If I was personally starting over from absolute scratch and I only had $150? Ralph Lauren Purple Label and if I have the extra twenty, Nautica Voyage. And maybe not even Nautica Voyage, maybe CK One. I might swap Purple Label with a big bottle of Azzaro Wanted By Night. One of those two. Both are discontinued, both are 10/10 modern masterpieces for me. Now, that's 100% not what everyone would go for, Purple Label means more to me than I think it does to most, and that's fine, but I would honestly hate to not have it. Same with Wanted By Night, I've bought bottles of that as a gift for friends five times. Absolutely love it. Point is though, instead of having the most, you might be better off getting a signature scent and building from there.
The 10 I'd go right back out and pick up (Excluding DIor Homme Parfum based on your criteria): Xerjoff: Naxos, Amouage: Jubilation XXV, Dior: Homme Intense, Xerjoff: Nio, Chanel: BDC Parfum, Vertus: Vanilla Oud, Chanel: Edition Blanche, Tom Ford: Oud Wood, PDM: Layton, Guerlain: L'Homme Ideal Extreme.
I had Gucci Envy as a gift in 2000. Really love it so much until it replaced my Cool Water was my signature at that time. So I sprayed it every day until the bottle was empty. And then I realized that was my first and last Gucci Envy I ever had..
@@GrowingDownUnder my only issue is performance if this lasted more than 3-4 hrs on my skin it would be a great 10. It’s too expensive to be reapplying 2-3x a day. Probably the biggest reason why I don’t care for Spring/summer scents most of them perform like crap.
I remember when I first started watching your videos in March 2020, you sold me on The One EDP by featuring it in a few videos but the Covid restrictions that were just implemented made it impossible for me to go out and smell it, so I blind bought the huge 150ml bottle from Fragrancebuy. Got it in and at first, it didn't do it for me but after trying it several times, it grew on me and now it's in my top 5 favorite designer fragrances. I would for sure buy it again if I needed to start over.
It’s been 3yrs, about how full is your bottle today ? Around that same time I was going to make the same purchase but before I did I picked up a decant of Side Effect by Initio and I was so glad I waited because at that moment I knew if I had both I’d never wear The One as long as I had Side Effect. Same scenario happened with Cedrat Bois. Now I ONLY buy decants
@@persephonesdad5792 There's a FB group that I'm in where I can buy decants of almost anything but at the time, I was new to the hobby and had no idea. I like Side Effect but if I had to pick between it and The One EDP, The One would win every time. I don't have to pick, though. I can get free samples of any Initio I want at my favorite niche fragrance boutique in my city. I still have around 80ml in my 150ml bottle of the One EDP. Since I bought it, I've added over 100 other bottles both designer and niche, so that 80ml will last me the rest of my life. IF I had to start over though, it would be top of the list for me to get another bottle.
You mention so often that you have a lot of backup bottles (for certain fragrances). Is this because you plan on selling them in the future (e.g., after they are discontinued) or you really do think you'll use up all those bottles? You probably have enough parfums for 10 lifetimes! Especially if taking into account that taste changes over time, all those backup bottles kinda seem a bit over the top. Anyway, just wondering about your thought here.

Could you do a video like: starting over on a budget of 100-150 USD?
And like 5 fragrances limit
I would say try stretch the budget and tiny bit and get acqua di gio profumo/parfum and stronger with you absolutely
Versace Dylan Blue, Guess Seductive Blue, Guess 1981 Los Angeles, CK One Shock, Missoni Wave, Burberry Touch & Afnan 9PM. 😎
@@abboed.4076 lots of freshies I guess. I could swap one with Bentley for men intense or something like that

lmao
I'd go with Percival, Allure Homme Sport, Aventus Cologne, Profondo. Versatile 10/10.
Aventus cologne is criminally underrated
only if it had better performance then it will be a 10/10, but its still one of my favorite @@Fmdk99
Aventus Cologne and Profondo tho 10/10
@@Fmdk99definitely! Best Creed IMO.
Got Dua version on Aventus cologne, wondering if I need the real thing..
aye man that’s a crazy sweatshirt respect I see the Ralphie wave
Great video with some great choices in there and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
Dior sauvage elixir??
I just got Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme and I love it. Perfect for Florida.
I really like that one. I got a sample of it a few weeks ago
It's still my least favourite flanker from the entire allure homme line though...
@@GrowingDownUnder that’s the only one I’ve tried in the line. I’ll have to check them out

Thanks for this brother.
Why everyone, but absolutely everyone goes for Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme but never recommend the original Homme Sport?

Wanted by night uis definitely not discontinued
How close did Spice Bomb Extreme to making this list?
Its a superb scent if you get an earlier bottle as the newer batches apparently do not perform.
Be awesome to see you hunt down Versace black jeans. Very rare and very nice
Ysl Y edp is beast mode freshie
When does the vid start?
If I could start again I would be wayyy more picky. There are so many designer frags that smell good but your nose gets more discerning quickly.
Out of curiosity, I would like to see this video, if you can only buy clone fragrances.
What up guys sotd Brioni esclat I try new De Marley for fall 👍🔥
You’re my favorite fragrance critic
Yeah, I'm a guy starting from scratch, and my first thought would be, let's spend 1000£ on amouage, Kilian and pdm..
smh
Tell you what I wouldn’t get: any suggestions coming from TH-camrs (no offence).
Get decants instead and start from there, trusting my own taste.
