That's why consulting various commentaries can not only help us understand the scripture better, but also to steer us away from having a faulty, incomplete or incorrect interpretation of the Bible. Also, be careful to exegete (get the meaning from a passage), not to eisegete a text (impose your understand onto the text).

Reading consistently and rightly dividing are so important. God made His Bible simple enough to understand in English. Plus, the Holy Spirit leads us in all truth. If we need help, we should always ask Him for help to study His scriptures. I wouldn't trust a pastor or teacher who was not doing the same.

This reminds me of when Jesus was calling out the Pharisees because they had added their own man made rules to the law. Instead of solely sticking to what the OT scriptures said, they made themselves a sect to share the Bible in an oral fashion and began adding their own input and man made laws to scripture. Now you have Christians today who are calling people who hold to scripture and sound doctrine, who love to study the word and keep to what it says, Pharisees, which is pretty ironic, because it was the Pharisees who were not keeping to what was written in scripture. Jesus rebuking the Pharisees was just that, Jesus calling them out for adding to the law. But this situation dose remind me of what is happening in the church today, unsound and unbiblical doctrine based on whims and feelings that the Holy Spirit is talking to them, then they will make something up, completely ignore what the Bible says, then add their new feeling to their teachings. There is a 100 percent way to be sure that the Holy Spirit is talking to you, read your Bible, study your Bible, love the word of God. Finding for yourselves Godly and Biblical teachers goes a long way also, teachers who have a solid grasp on sound biblical principles, and who are not afraid to be tested on what they say. God Bless.

I’m so glad I learned Greek and how to read and understand the Greek New Testament. It’s been so beneficial. I’ve heard so many people say since we have English translation the Greek and Hebrew text doesn’t matter. The KJV only people are the worst at saying the Greek and Hebrew texts doesn’t matter. I don’t need to have 5-6 English versions to make comparisons. I can go straight to the Greek text for comparison. Love your teaching brother Corey.

Everyone says "rightly divide", but very few agree how and yet they all think they're right. We all can't be right. So how about a little series (time devoted to describing/teaching hermeneutics)? If you already have a video out, can you point me to it? Thanks.

Former Pentecostal here…the average sermon may usually include a scripture reading, followed by an interpretation of what that means to them experientially today. Rarely is the intention or original context even discussed. It’s is assumed…which is not how congregations learn to truly understand the author’s actual message.

How is the Bible to be interpreted ? After Joseph had been in prison for some six years, and two other men that served Pharaoh ("officers of Pharaoh", Gen 40:7) were also thrown into prison with him for ' sinning against their lord ' (Gen 40:1), and they each had dreams, they told Joseph, who had asked why they looked so gloomy, that "we had a dream, but there is no interpreter ("interpreter", Hebrew pathar, meaning "to open up, i.e. interpret (a dream)") with us".
The chief of the cupbearers was the first to relate his dream to Joseph, who then told the chief of the cupbearers: "Do not interpretations ("interpretations", Hebrew pithrown, meaning "interpretation (of a dream)") belong to God ? Relate it to me, please."(Gen 40:8)
So, since God caused the chief of the cupbearers and chief of the bakers to each have a dream, then he would be the ONLY one that could accurately interpret them, using ONLY his servants, in this case Joseph. And what is God's name ? Jehovah (see Ex 6:3; Ps 83:18; Isa 12:2; 26:4, KJV), that is found almost 7,000 times in the Hebrew Scriptures, commonly referred to as "the Old Testament".
The apostle Paul wrote: "All Scripture (the 66 "books" from Genesis to Revelation, and NOT the Apocrypha) is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."(2 Tim 3:16)
At Amos 3:7, it states: "For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to HIS servants the prophets". So, only Jehovah's loyal servants are able to unlock the "mysteries" of the Bible, while Christendom is lost.
Jesus told his disciples: "To you (and NO one else) it is granted to understand the sacred secrets of the Kingdom of the heavens, but to them it is not granted. For whoever has (accurate knowledge of the Bible), more will be given him, and he will be made to abound; but whoever does not have, even what he has (or "imagines", Greek dokeo, meaning "to be of opinion, think, suppose", Luke 8:18) will be taken from him."
"That is why I speak to them by the use of illustrations; for looking, they look in vain, and hearing, they hear in vain, nor do they get the sense of it ("get the sense of it", Greek syniemi, meaning "to mentally put the pieces together", as in solving a difficult puzzle or riddle).
For example, the first prophecy in the Bible is at Genesis 3:14, 15 (and given immediately upon the rebellion in the garden of Eden, Gen 3:1-6), whereby it says: "Because you ("the serpent") have done this, you (or "the serpent" that caused a rebellion against Jehovah) are the cursed one out of all the domestic animals and out of all the wild animals of the field."
"On your belly you will go, and you will eat dust all the days of your life (or become "the lowest of the low"). And I will put enmity (or hatred) between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring. He will crush your head, and you will strike him in the heel".
The "woman" and her "offspring" are seen again at Isaiah 49, 54, 60-62, Galatians 4, Revelation 12 and Jesus said of this "woman's sons" that "it is written in the Prophets (at Isa 54:13): ‘They will all be taught by Jehovah.’ Everyone who has listened to the Father and has learned comes to me."(John 6:45) So, since this "woman" and her "offspring" is the theme of the Bible, what is its accurate interpretation ?

The Holy Spirit will teach a true follower of Jesus what is necessary to know. And will lead you to correct scripture that supports what He is telling you. He is the Light of the world. Put your trust in no man. For all have fallen short of the glory of God. Doesn't really matter what language was used. Men are flawed, even Greek men. Since the Holy Spirit led those He chose to take dictation, it would stand to reason that He is able to keep His Word pure. He actually speaks to my spirit more when I open up the channel and listen than when I get bogged down in word for word linguistical studies that are persued mainly just to prove an arguing point. If one wants to have clarity on something that seems out of context, then sure, look for meaning of the word's origin that maybe you are interpreting incorrectly. We do this when reading books or articles every time. Someone uses a word you don't understand, you pull up a dictionary and no one except the woke want to have the entire long- trusted dictionary and history changed to reflect the modern mind and culture's views that has been so corrupted from milleniums of cyclic evil passed down mentally, spiritually and genetically that the Holy Spirit is great at cutting through all that nonsense, without exegesis, hermaneutics or every religious book ever written on what someone else was led to believe about a topic of Jewish or Christian theology. I don't agree with everything MacArthur says or any pastor that's mentored me through the years. They are a conduit to study the word yourself to see what the Spirit has to say to you! Alexander was born to conquer the ME area to force everyone to speak Greek. This allowed the gospel message to spread by word of mouth by the very roads he also constructed that made travel easier. The Spirit actually has the power to speak through you if you don't try to plan ahead what you are going to say and just trust Him to use you to speak the words He gives you to speak. Isn't that what the Scripture says? All this learning makes the mind and body weary, King Solomon wrote. His conclusion after studying all the ancient texts (that were mostly burned up in the fire of Alexandria,) that the final thing he wanted us to know was "there's nothing new. It's all been done before. Vanity upon vanity. Chasing after the wind. Fear God and obey his commands for we all must stand before Him and give account of our deeds good or bad. ECCL. 3 AND 12
If it's not affecting the blood that covers all our sins and leads to faith in Jesus and his Salvation, it's probably not worth arguing about. If it is, the Spirit will use your mouth to correct anything he wants corrected. ...if you will allow it.

Allow me to prove that below statement is utterly WRONG
    Deceptive John McAuthour statement :
Salvation does not need work but it will RESULT in good work……..😵‍💫
If the above statement is true then we see a person who reached in heaven without any works and yet he was saved …..
    Proof text 1 Corinthians 3:15
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire
Here we clearly see this man has only one work and that too was also burned up yet he was saved
So in context all his work was burned up and he was yet saved…….
This verse is direct contradiction with John McAuthor salvation statement ( Lordship salvation) doctrine ….
And Calvinist has no answer for the same unfortunately
That is why we need to base our doctrine from Pauline gospel

In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "Jesus Christ, 'The Faithful Witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew, an Israelite, to whose nation the words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: "'You are my witnesses, ' is the utterance of Jehovah, 'even my servant whom I have chosen.'" Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine disciples today must be the same kind of witnesses, Jehovah's.

You do realise that the Church existed 1,600 years without the KJV right? Are you saying that they didn't have the true Word of God in their possession for that whole time? Let's see if the King James translators themselves would agree with your assessment that their translation is the only true Word of God:
"...we do not deny, nay we affirm and avow, that the very meanest (i.e. mediocre) translation of the Bible in English, set forth by men of our profession, containeth the word of God, nay, is the word of God. No cause therefore why the word translated should be denied to be the word, or forbidden to be current, notwithstanding that some imperfections and blemishes may be noted in the setting forth of it." - The Translators to the Reader preface (1611 KJV)
Clearly, they didn't believe that a translation had to be perfect in order to be considered the Word of God.
