Just went through customs at terminal 5 yesterday it was terrible after getting bag. Global Entry was seconds, then you get back in line with no queue and hundreds of people waiting and hundreds cutting in line. After traveling to other countries this is an embarrassment for people visiting here. Build proper queues and do your job or don’t have a line at all, looks like a power play with incompetent workers. I wish WGN would investigate this for the good of Chicago and our country.
I had a seamless experience when returning from Bolivia in August 2021. I was amazed at how quick the process really was. A $100 fee for the pass, which includes TSA pre-check (which, alone costs $85) is worth every penny to get through the lines for 5 years. I'll glady pay another $100 when this card expires.
Don’t know about O’Hara but returned through Dulles 9 Oct 2022 and it took around 5 seconds to clear. Looked like there were around 500 in line going through regular customs and immigration.
One can only wish the immigration agents are as friendly as the ones in this clip. Nearly all of them are robotic and couldn’t care less. There should be a line just for Americans with US passports, even without Global Entry.
Yesterday Sunday 26 Aug, we were 2 hours in the CITIZENS line. My wife had just been told our cat had died and and she cried and screamed for 2 HOURS shuffling in the line. When I FINALLY got to the parking garage I was so tired I smashed my car on the wall ... Heathrow London was a doddle ..flash the passport and walk in... US is 3rd world...

NEXUS is an even better value. It includes precheck, global entry and expedited entry to Canada all for $50

Just waited in ORD for 40 minutes in the global entry line. The regular line was FASTER than global entry
What they don't' say is theres a fee of 100 dollars to apply.

I've tried 3 times to get my global entry approved it was shut due to no staff waste of 150 as you only have so long to get sorted

I work at ohare, this program is not helping at all. Longest customs line I’ve seen here is 5 hours.
Is terminal 5 domestic still a mess?
