Great kits!! I believe all kits should be built. Because of the age and scarcity of the kit, I would build it out of the box and add plug/fuel lines and maybe some other small details that would not distract from or replace the original kit components. The white residue on the tires is probably a result of the tire material gassing out.
I think I would consider building this one box stock with spark plugs, fuel line, and maybe running lines to the brakes. Nice history lesson on this kit and its relatives. Thanks for sharing.
I vote (as if I have one 😅) for some detailing, but no other changes. It is a classic kit and deserves to be built as a classic wheel stander. Sorta out there is the possibility of building it as a barn find or as a behind the barn find that has seen some weather.
Very cool Jeep collection! Models are made to be built. You just made the other Models more valuable. LOL. I would build it with a detailed motor and put a racing seat in it. With today's technology you can still make it old school nice.
I am of the belief that all kits should be built. To sit in a box is a travesty to people that made it. Their work deserves to be seen and appreciated. BUILD, BUILD, BUILD!!!
Cool kits Jason I'm not a Jeep guy but I do have the Daisy's Jeep '99 amt ertal. Haven't decided how going to build maybe big block with '19 in rallies ...ouch!!! lol...
Those are some cool old kits! I'm like you, I'm not a collector, so I'd build them too. Have fun with those and I'll be watching to see how they turn out.
Definitely build 'em! I'm primarily a box stock guy, so that's the way I would vote. I have many old original issues in my stash to build as well. I'm a builder also. I didn't buy them to collect and resell later, I bought them with every intention to build. That's what they're for. I've built a few old one-time issued models, and many more to come. The collectors are going to cringe if I ever figure out how to show some of them. Maybe one day I'll figure out how to give this TH-cam thing a try. I would have no clue right now how to even go about it. These are no different than building a newer kit, and have just as many joys and frustrations. Looking forward to seeing them.
Very cool Jeep kits. Have fun with them. You noticed that the hood has a scribed area for a cut out. MPC also had a line of Jeepster kits. Also starting out in 1968. One of the options on the Jeepster kit was a drag version thet had a hilborn injector intake set up. If you check out the MPC Jeepster history on scalemates you will see that the Jeepster kits had some really cool optional parts. One of the options was a snow plow. I think this was the 1st 1;25 scale snow plow ever produced. Have a great Sunday.
Very cool kits I say build it box stock nostalgic build just the way they had to in 1968 They had no aftermarket parts Had to use what was in the box Just my thoughts Happy building
You have committed to a lot of special group builds for 2025 already. I'd save yourself some time and go box stock. The finished motor you showed looked pretty good, if it fits the frame you want to use.
If it were me, I would build it as the wheelstander. I would go as box stock as could, parts wise. I would add details like wiring and hoses. I would also get some of the newer reissues of that kit and use them to build some of the other versions using up the extra parts. Just my opinion, just my way of thinking. I think that it will turn out pretty good no matter which way you go with it.
Value and worth are two different things. Those kits might be worth something to the right Jeep collector or vintage kit guy. But value-wise it's $2 worth of plastic in a 30 cent box. MPC was making toys for kids in 1970, nobody thought people might save some and have them be "worth" big money 50 years later. Especially given that speciality parts aside the base kit is still floating around out there and was just reissued last year. That's also good for you should any of the regular parts be missing in any of those 3 boxings, there's plenty of spares floating around. Not like some of those old AMT annuals that got turned into AWB drag cars or modified asphalt race cars and there really arent any old stock parts out there. Build 'em all.
That white stuff on the tyres, is from some kind of evaporation. Chemical process. Those tyres are trash now. You should throw them out. That chemical process might affect the rest of the kit.
Don't forget the part on the floor. 🤣Very cool Jason. I would build it stock. 👍
Sweet Jeep's. I really like that little tow truck. Thanx for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

Those are some cool and interesting kits. And I can't wait to see how this turns out. 👍🏻
I think I would consider building this one box stock with spark plugs, fuel line, and maybe running lines to the brakes.

Very cool Those look like great kits. The wheel stander looks like fun.
Personally I'd build the old kit with the half cab and put it a small diorama pushing a sprintcar. Then use the Bushwacker kit to build bottoms up.
My first finished build of 2024 was that Golden Hawk Jeep, I never knew of those early iterations. Thanks for the history lesson.
You’re welcome my friend!
Nice kits.... wasn't into 4 wheel drive back then 😎 😁
Awesome kits, Jason. I'm a bone stock guy when it comes to vintage, and most kits. I like the Sunoco version.
Cool kits ! You can never have enough Jeep models LOL I wish that half cab / tow truck version would be reissued for sure.
I am of the belief that all kits should be built. To sit in a box is a travesty to people that made it. Their work deserves to be seen and appreciated. BUILD, BUILD, BUILD!!!
Gotta build them,my vote is stock CJ,and that tow jeep.
That is a great kit for the time it was created. That will be a cool build.
It’s definitely going to be a fun one to build!
Cool kits Jason I'm not a Jeep guy but I do have the Daisy's Jeep '99 amt ertal. Haven't decided how going to build maybe big block with '19 in rallies ...ouch!!! lol...
I think you should detail the engine that would bring a lot to the build when you display it 👍👍
You’re right I think that would be really cool!
AMAZING AMAZING KITS😮
I'd build the crap out of them lol
I would do box stock but either way they be very COOL 😮😮😮
Cool! Box stock. Maybe some details on the engine. Original color and decals. Get the new decals made that you were talking about.
I agree, models are made to be built. 😊
Absolutely, build those kits!!!
Those are some cool old kits! I'm like you, I'm not a collector, so I'd build them too. Have fun with those and I'll be watching to see how they turn out.
Thanks
Value Schmalue, models are meant to be built. Just as 1/1 cars are meant to be driven.

Just detail it. They are awesome kits.

Wow! That’s really cool, thanks for the info.
@@blueoxmodelshop3405 The old 60's/70's Jeepster kits are getting hard to find & are pricey. They had such cool optional parts.
Very cool kits
I say build it box stock nostalgic build just the way they had to in 1968
They had no aftermarket parts
Had to use what was in the box
Just my thoughts
Happy building
Stock nostalgia gets my vote as well
You're gonna build the Bottoms Up Jeep!?!?!? Oh heck yeah!!! Build it! Build it! Soon, please!!!!!
As collectable as it is I would build box stock but add as much as you can without changing parts like wires hoses metal lines linkages.
That sounds like a great approach for this kit!
Box stock with extra details
I have the Daisy Jeep! (Wasn't Cheap!) Great Video!
Thank you!!
Great video! We gotta do a jeep buddy build!
Those are some cool kits. I don't think I've ever seen either of the originals.
I actually just discovered the dune buggy kit comes with a plow! Pretty neat stuff.
I would paint it.
Metal cast red

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely keep that in mind!!
Go box stock Jaason, thanks for sharing.
You bet
It would be cool to keep the original parts and add detail to the build, like plug wires and lines.

Thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate the feedback!

Great wheelstander! Maybe graft a blown Hemi instead of the Cammer? Hopefully some day Round 2 will repop that kit. Very nice stash adds!
No !!!! Jay keep it stock
It doesn't matter, but box stock with some detail would be nice.
That white stuff on the tyres, is from some kind of evaporation. Chemical process. Those tyres are trash now. You should throw them out. That chemical process might affect the rest of the kit.
have you ever seen leathal weapon it was a stretched frame drag race jeep
I have 3 motor cycles.2 Harley's & 1 chips motorcycle.and a 1 /8 scale Pontiac transam.ther all older kits but I'm not gonna build them.
