You know, with the subtitles, turning the sound higher just makes the sound... louder. Not more intelligible, just... louder
Important thing to note! Language processing Disorders and Processing issues in general are VERY common amongst autistics and other ND folks, so it might be worth it if you can to get auditory processing testing.
I had to get hearing aids to hear words better and process them, mine was so baaaad.
I'm an autistic female and i'm very lucky to have been diagnosed at the age of 13 (I live in the Netherlands and not in the US I don't know if that makes it any diffrence), i do really feel blessed with my parents 💙who noticed very quickly how diffrent i'am. We still have a long way to go but I hope in the future more parents will be aware of there kids beeing neurodivergent and are getting them an early Autism and/or ADHD assement if they can effort it no matter there gender because i know how much it really helped me 🙂.
I can relate hard to soo many of these experiences, especially the speadsheet thing @14:54
Except for me its a niche of Nissan Economy & Family cars.
(Last weekend was a 'Highway Star' rabbit-hole, I spent eventually 5hrs finding basic info of 40 cars under that moniker over 33yrs.)
Also I dunno if I was diagnosed with Autism or ADHD as a child, but I guess I needa go to find out asap, so I can start doing something about it. 😩😩
Any other AuDHD (or ADHD or Autism alone) buddies also working through finding themselves after escaping the mandatory school?
Discovered I was autistic at 48yo!
I was misdiagnosed/treated for Bipolar Disorder for over 20 years...
*I can't roll my eyes hard enough!*
The funny thing is that this video set me on a side quest because I had a voice mail from a few days ago from an autism diagnosis place that I remembered and there was an application for that that I needed to fill out so I praised the video and spent like an hour doing that before resuming the video
But you remembered to come back to the video I’m actually impressed 😂 but congrats on finishing the (important) side quest
WHY ARE YOU PLAYING STARDEW VALLEY T_T The absolute callout I just felt lol
I feel called out by most of the autism tiktoks... (I have ADHD)
haha, same. I was going to say that i feel way too called out for someone who doesn't consider themselves to be autistic. And i have to say, a fuzzy bath mat would be an absolute horror. Not only are too soft fabrics disturbing to touch, but also water in sth like that does indeed seem quite sus
@@Desimere yeah or touching the shower curtain...
Yeah there's a lot of overlap between autism and ADHD, especially with things like sensory issues and executive dysfunction.. plus there's a significant chunk of people who turn out to have both 😅
I hate both headphones and in ear earbuds. I wear the other kind of earbuds which are perfect. Otherwise the fabrics, 100%, nah 2000%, just looking at them, just thinking about them, it gives me the bad kinda shivers and goosebumps. It's funny how completely different some individuals with autism/adhd/both act from eachothers. Some of them i completely relate, some of them i don't relate at all, and some of them i completely see my mom in them but not myself at all. My sensory issues aren't as extreme as some autistic people, and being easily distracted is one of the few symptoms i don't really struggle with in ADHD.
as someone with what was previously called asperger's, i wasn't aware of the problematic history of the name; i'll be sure to stop calling it that.
Yeah I feel like a lot of people maybe haven’t heard or found out. But gladly we can always learn more
