I'm just gonna say this, with how much effort they put into this battle, it makes you wonder if being with Rooster Teeth and by extension Warner Bros. held them back a bit.
i think mostly warner bros, since they were apparently more active in the demands... and i'm not sure if the whole wile e movie thing is going to prevent them from ever doing tom vs the coyote
I don't think that they were holding them back in that sense. The top WB brass didn't even know Death Battle existed except as one small part of a loosely connected entity not making them any money with the real masses, and Rooster Teeth was just barely holding on for the last few years, with Death Battle being widely considered to be the only good part of Rooster Teeth left. If you mean that Rooster Teeth was holding Death Battle back in the sense that, creatively, it needed Death Battle more than Death Battle needed it, then yes, that's definitely true, but money-wise, Death Battle still needed their funding to produce as much stuff as they did in 2023. Every Death Battle episode to come out in 2024, and likely several of the 2025 episodes that are still secrets and weren't revealed during the Kickstarter (each reveal meant that they reached the funding goals to START working on the revealed episode) was already in some stage of early-to-medium production for what would have been "Season 11" of the show when Rooster Teeth's shutdown was announced, and their crews were barred from working on them from March to July of 2024 until Ben and Chad bought Death Battle from what was left of Rooster Teeth. The production hiccups naturally resulting from this and different needs of different episodes in different animation styles were why Omni-Man vs. Bardock was the first new episode to come out, even though Joker vs. Giorno was meant as the Season 11 premiere, why Omni-Man vs. Bardock and Bowser vs. Eggman could be teased back in July but Joker vs. Giorno and Among Us vs. Fall Guys couldn't, and why Bowser vs. Eggman could be teased back despite being the third 2024 episode (fully hand-drawn animated episodes take the longest to make of all of the Death Battle episodes, but they're also easier to show their different stages of progress in than with sprite animations due to having more traditional storyboards and animatics). So Death Battle needed (past tense) Rooster Teeth's money, and Rooster Teeth needed Death Battle's seal of quality. And despite what is so easy to think with the Wily Coyote movie, WB is not trying to bury any evidence that Wily Coyote ever existed. They wouldn't do that to any Looney Tune, whatever their personal feelings on the current ability of Looney Tunes characters to make them money are. David Zaslav just really thought that the Coyote vs. Acme movie was going to bomb, despite positive test screenings, and thought it would be worth more money as a tax write-off than as either a movie they distribute or give to another streamer to distribute. Wily Coyote vs. Tom Cat is taking as long as it is because of the things that make fully hand-drawn animated Death Battle episodes the longest to produce being taken up to eleven by trying to recreate the wackiness of classic WB cartoons, which had a lot of moving parts to them, figuratively and literally, and this is obviously not helped by Rooster Teeth's shutdown. Wily Coyote vs. Tom Cat probably won't come out until May/June 2025 at the very earliest, and that's only if Death Battle is very lucky with its production. August/September 2025 is more likely, and that's only because it won the Tournament of Champions. If it was a Kickstarter-announced matchup, then it definitely wouldn't be coming out until 2026. Not being owned by WB probably makes it easier for that episode to make a few jokes about Coyote vs. Acme's writeoff, but they'd probably be allowed to make a few subtle ones if they were still owned by WB, because Zaslav just doesn't watch anything that's not part of a giant tentpole franchise. Rick and Morty still makes fun of WB (Rick saying that an emotional defense shell is good for when Summer asks you your opinions on Wonder Woman 1984; Rick saying that a planet where all of its TV is bad reality shows "looks like it was bought by the Discovery Channel," Rick and Morty mercy-killing the versions of themselves that cameoed in Space Jam 2, etc.), so making fun of WB wouldn't be as hard if they were still owned by them as it might look, although it would still be easier when they're not owned by WB.
@@ConcernedAlien while you make a number of good points, my response was based on a number of poor recent decisions by warner bros, such as demanding overtime or specific formats from it's animators and then abandoning them to face consequences. and i'm hoping that with the new format they won't have to face poor management like that. speaking as an animator, being low on the totem pole isn't nessicarily a good defence against the higher ups. rick and morty gets away with jabs because it IS one of the golden children.
Like I say, one of the best episodes in the series. So much love and passion from start to finish. Especially the animation and graphics even in the backgrounds. Awesome reaction, and man this was my favorite fight of the year hands down.
Don’t worry Death Battle doesn’t dictate what an actual result would be. Half of bowser’s magic is up to interpretation.. King Boo not being affected by the Phantom Ruby and Bowser being able to such up the metal virus is all up to their interpretation
@@troyami BTW they ommited the massive speed adventage of Eggman. Also, it is not fair to give Bowser all his things because "they are natural" and Eggman only 2 mechs, pretending that he would not have them prepared from the beginning. I can understand it from its bases and even things like the Time Eater bot come on, having Egg Salamander you go for a way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay weaker egg mech like Death Robot Egg. Also, consistently downballed Eggman mechs Egg dragoon is alone able to hit and damage Super Sonic, who is able to defeat Phantom King, a dimensional threat as an inferior Eggman´s machine. But the higher end was star level AP. I mean, still think Bowser can outhax Eggman but come on, the way of how Metal Sonic and Infinite were defeated was super idiotic and never showed the speed adventage.
@@carrot708while I don't hate the match up, I'm curious about how that would be, personally I think Sylvester vs Tom might be a better fight, we have seen Tom die
In your repeated viewings... there's a theme baked in that I absolutely ADORE. Bowser is ALWAYS advancing, while Robotnik is always retreating, even when on the offensive. The Dragoon was flying backwards as he shot at Bowser. The Kaiju moment, you can see the Death Egg Robot on the back foot while Fury Bowser advances. Firing the Death Egg, Robotnik and all of his minions ran away while Bowser leapt forward to protect everyone by trying to raw-dog tank the beam. It might be ridiculous to say, but there's AMAZING storytelling in this fight. Little moments and looks that communicate so much. This is damn-near a masterclass in film-making.
@@danielwilson8604The Gravity worked out great, until the ghost decides to just drop an already heavy object onto him. Also apparently a while ago someone else made a fight animation of this combo had Kamek do the exact same thing to him, dropping a Thwomp on Infinite
I love how throughout the battle Bowser was not only fighting but also protecting his army at the same time like with Infinite even though his attacks were only perception based Bowser’s first move is to protect his army over himself, getting revenge when Junior was badly injured, and jumping in front of the blast of the Death Egg to protect his army from it line of sight all hail our Goat the Koopa King.
I have a question how can kid friendly characters like Bill Cipher, Discord, Scooby, Courage, Bowser, and Eggman have HARDCORE animated fights and BANGER vocal tracks?
Because the animators behind them are gods among men. It's incredibly obvious that Bill vs Discord, Scooby vs Courage, and Bowser vs Eggman were works of passion, and that really shows by how much character those episodes just ooze. As for the tracks that go along with them, you can't have a god tier animation without proper music to back it up.
I'd guess because they get tons of crazy weapons and abilities, but rarely get to use them to their fullest potential because they're supposed to be kid-friendly, meaning there's tons of potential for animators to tap into.
Man this Fight is Beyond Awesome 👍 My fav part is when Bowser lose it when he see Junior got hurt before blasting Metal. "How dare you! Keep your hands off... MY... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!"
You were taking over when they explained that Kamek can counter Metal Sonic's copy ability. They didnt mention Bowser Jr's Deny ability. Which is a soft version of GER
@@kirbylover2.038 the first unlocked captain command in minion's quest. it doesn't block basic attacks, but it does let junior turn off any and all special abilities.
As sad as the Sonic fanboy in me is to see Eggman lose, I can't say I'm not happy to see Bowser win. But honestly at this point, I've waited for this fight for so long I didn't even care who won; I'd easily be fine with either outcome. Seriously though, this episode, my most wanted MU for years, has officially become my favorite fight ever! Everything about this episode, from the analysis to the animation, was absolutely perfect! I'm just so happy my dream MU came true; now I can rest easy and watch this fight over and over again for the rest of my life!
I’ve never played a Mario or Sonic game growing up as I mostly had Lego games, Elder scrolls or monster hunter. But this is by far one of (if not) a new favourite episode of mine. The animation, characters, and fight itself was phenomenal. I can’t imagine how happy some people are who actually know a understand these characters
Wiz talking about Eggman reminded me that the first (and before this one, the only) Eggman battle was the last time Ben Singer ever animated a Death Battle xD
While I disagree with some parts of the post-analysis, I cannot sing this episode's praises enough. One of my most wanted as a hand drawn army fight that doesn't feel like it should've had more. A year ago, something like this seemed impossible yet here it is. Absolutely amazing. My only problem is I cannot like it twice.
I feel like for me it's always dope to see two armies face off and duke it out, even if it was an active warzone, this fight felt more lively than any other and was genuinely just the best I've seen, one of the reasons why I love the Eggman vs Wiley fight so much, but this fight BLEW that one out of the water by a mile!
Issues with the verdict aside I love this episode so much, easily my favorite from the revival era and I genuinely don’t know how they’ll top it for awhile. Peak music, peak visuals, peak action, decent pre analysis, and some good character moments with Jr., Metal, Sage and Bowser. 9/10 for sure.
This is definitely going in the Top 10 best Death Battles that ScrewAttack's ever done. I am so hyped for Among Us vs Fall Guys, Wile E. Coyate vs Tom Cat, and Hulk vs Godzilla
I'm glad they brought up how busted Kamek is. He can legit just make Bowser giant and invincible whenever he wants. And he can alter reality as well. It's no wonder he's the #3 of the Koopa Clan only being Bowser and Bowser Jr. themselves (and the one that most likely taught Bowser his black magic powers as well)
I, can't see it. Eggman being friends with Bowser just doesn't sit right. Dude can't befriend himself. How's he going to befriend the technologically challenged jock turtle king? Bowser's line before destroying the gun arm sums up how I feel about that pairing well. "Shut, up, nerd!"
I love this episode so much. Its probably my favorite episode of Death Battle now. I love how they could have easily killed one or both of the children, but they didn't! Both kids survived, and I can rest easy, thank God!
To answer your question about the Wonder Flower, while normally it is unpredictable, Castle Bowser mysteriously had full control over its abilities. His main plan in that game was to use Wonder to "Hypnotize the Universe" with a giant musical number.
Man they knocked it out of the park with this one How would I wish to see a remake/remaster of Eggman vs Wily now with what they showed in this army vs army fight
This is when DB *PERFECTED* their craft 🤩 when Metal Sonic brought down Bowser Jr. I seriously thought it was the end for Jr. and it brought me to tears 😭 I had to pause a couple min to recollect myself and from then on it became emotionally charged for me. As Bowser unleashed his vengeance upon Metal that's when DB for the first time evolved into something more for me and I've seen every Death Battle for years. Honestly I don't know if they can ever top this episode, I find it *that* good 😁
Every time I watch this I see new details, like all of eggman’s fleet deserting during the Death Egg, while Bowser’s forces stay, meaning he was left alone at the worst time, or that the only members of Bowser’s army that deserted were the generals from Bowser’s Inside Story who are the only major forces to betray him, The fact that Jr is the one who blasted the Death Egg, and you can see his spell pass Eggman before it hits the Death Egg. Bowser Taking the blast to protect his troops, the fact jr disappears after he uses the black paint, because his paint allows him to teleport. Bowser Saying “So Long Doctor” in reference to “So long Eh(gay) Bowser”. Bruce getting referenced. The return of post fight animations. Favorite episode of the year, and the first one to match Season 10.
As an all-time fan of both the Mario and Sonic franchises, I can say that this has officially become my favorite DB episode of all time! Next time is pretty sus, but I can't wait to see what they pull off with it.
I want to thank DJTiki for editing and writing, MORØ for animating this cinematic masterpiece of a hand drawn army fight, Arthur Romeo for voicing Eggman, Zack Watkins for stealing the show as Bowser, and of course, Brandon Yates, Tyler Anderson, and Victor “Bury The Light” Borba for the vocal track, Game Over.
I loved this fight so much but damn Bowser’s team’s magic was basically unbeatable😂😂😂 No Metal Virus No Phantom Ruby powers (RIP Infinite💀) No METAL SONIC SCALING No Time Eater Bower literally not dying and turning into Dry Bowser😂
Just a reminder that Bowser, Mario, and Peach can last a 5-vs-5 against Culex 3D (with his new power to "consume all of time and space") and his similarly-potent 3D Crystals - and invincibility power-ups are completely optional.
Alright everyone. What was your favorite part of the episode? For me, this is a hard choice. So many amazing ones from both sides. But I think the Chance Time bit was just the best. Bowser doing what he does best f*cking over everyone just for s*its and giggles. 12/10 episode. NOt sure if it tops Scooby vs Courage, but it does top Bill vs Discord so it is top 2 at least. So just about everyone in Eggman's army was wiped out aside from Sage........as well as Orbot and Cubot. Like, Metal gets killed, but these two actually managed to survive the carnage...... honestly I really shouldn't be that surprised given it's these two. Next time, I am really let down. I mean how is that going to top this episode? THIS felt like a finale for sure. Plus, the connections are pretty bare bones. Personally I think Imposter vs Thing (from the John Carpanter movie not the rock guy from the Fantastic 4) is far more interesting. I have to say, even with the dubious use of the Sun Disk in Omni-Man vs Bardock, this batch has been amazing! Omni-Man vs Bardock was a fun preview of what was to come. Joker vs Giorno was a fun opening act, and Bowser vs Eggman was certainly the main event, and it shows. Now for the wrap party. Will Among Us vs Fall Guys be a sweet desert? Or is it going to end things with a wimper? We will see.
I'd say it was Bowser blasting Super Metal Sonic alongside Eggman's armada to atoms for hurting Junior. Don't mess with the child, else face the wrath of the parent.
The irony is that, bowser was pretty much able to reverse engineer eggmans strategies, when eggman was pretty much the master in engineering literally on this fight
This is 2nd death battle in a row where the power of friendship was a major winning factor. (Both times they were kinda nothing factors imo. GER would just reduce Jokers willpower to zero instantly after he recharges, why would you need loyalty to your army when you can just have a perfectly functioning hive mind) great fight tho. Since Among us VS fall guys is next I hope Sans Vs judge comes next as it was shown in Bill vs Discord. 9.5/10 episode
They actually talked about metal sonic bio data and they said kamak could basically stop the bio data because they showed and talked about how kamak stopped Mario Luigi and paper Mario from doing attacks and change items for a win so they basically said kamak could stop metal sonic with his magic
even without that, bowser is canonically hard to clone. the dark star tried and got indigestion for it's troubles for a long time. then bowser beat the result up anyway.
I still think the intelligence of Sage and Dr. Eggman coupled with the power of their own "trump cards" would have made them beat Bowser more often than not, but I really can't be upset about how cool this episode was! Plus, Metal Sonic looked amazing throughout the entire fight, and he's my favorite! 10/10 peak DEATH BATTLE!
I feel like Eggman arrived with a broken leg. The Death Egg Robot is a downgrade coming from Dragoon, they omitted the speed advantage that Eggman had and both Infinite and Metal Sonic lost in ridiculous ways. Other than that I think the result is correct and the battle was great.
11:16 - 11:18 I mean, that's just it. Ever since Maria's death, That's all they ever talk about, And that really broke Eggman(metaphorically.). Or at least, I Think that's what they meant or something. 25:33 - 25:36 Are you feeling it, Mr. Bowser? 26:51 - 27:17 Well Ig it looks like Bowser and his army just put Eggman between a block and a hard place.

Easily my new favorite episode of all time. Killer track, great analysis/ conclusion, the best animation in the shows history. Just perfect.
For years Sabrewulf vs Jon Talbain was my favourite episode, then this came around and topped it in every conceivable way. Absolute peak.
SUCH a PEAK EPISODE. This is easily 10 out of 10 episode. Great reaction dude and it feels GREAT to get an episode I wanted FOR SO LONG!
The fact they had extra scenes in the post analysis is mind blowing to me. I really thought eggman had this.
Don’t worry Death Battle doesn’t dictate what an actual result would be. Half of bowser’s magic is up to interpretation..
King Boo not being affected by the Phantom Ruby and Bowser being able to such up the metal virus is all up to their interpretation
@troyami he could still just wish the metal virus away with the star rod if it came down to it
@@troyaminot to mention Infinite being taken out by a damn thwamp 💀
@@megamagner618 i know it’s dumb because Sage could have definitely remotely controlled his mechs. She could have done way more
We're only three episodes in, but I think we already have the best episode of the "Kickstarter season"
Definitely going to take a lot to surpass this episode.
Only thing that could top this for me is if Wile E. vs Tom is every bit the fight I want it to be.
@@carrot708while I don't hate the match up, I'm curious about how that would be, personally I think Sylvester vs Tom might be a better fight, we have seen Tom die
A peak fight from a peak reactor? Say no more.
So true
Agree
Oh absolutely.
YESSSSS! Ok, I was waiting for ur reaction ever since I saw the OG episode
I liked the other two fights that came before this one but I think this one kinda brought back some of the thrill death battle has.
Bowsers killing blow looks like he landed a black flash
Seeing Infinite getting packed up so easily by King Boo is something I can’t get enough of
Biblically accurate Infinite
and it's his own fault too, both for using his admittedly effective gravity tactic and for trying to use illusions against the TRUE master.
@@danielwilson8604The Gravity worked out great, until the ghost decides to just drop an already heavy object onto him. Also apparently a while ago someone else made a fight animation of this combo had Kamek do the exact same thing to him, dropping a Thwomp on Infinite
Apparently the animator said Infinite didnt even die from the Thwomp, he just was contemplating his life choices afterwards.
They definitely cooked much harder for this than they did for Episode 100.
In 14:28 🤣 THATS WHAT YOU SAID AND GUESS WHAT..... BOOMSTICK SAID IT!
@@thecursed_1lordofcats738 And Brandon Yates delivers every time.
I'd guess because they get tons of crazy weapons and abilities, but rarely get to use them to their fullest potential because they're supposed to be kid-friendly, meaning there's tons of potential for animators to tap into.
Man this Fight is Beyond Awesome 👍
My fav part is when Bowser lose it when he see Junior got hurt before blasting Metal.
"How dare you! Keep your hands off... MY... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!"
You were taking over when they explained that Kamek can counter Metal Sonic's copy ability.
They didnt mention Bowser Jr's Deny ability. Which is a soft version of GER
wait what
@@kirbylover2.038 the first unlocked captain command in minion's quest. it doesn't block basic attacks, but it does let junior turn off any and all special abilities.
Two death battles in a row where the power of friendship mattered 😅
Please continue making these videos. I always look forward to watching your reactions! 🔥🔥👍
20:16 There’s NO WAY you predicted that EXACTLY LMAO (Best episode of the show btw)
Bowser vs Eggman is my 5th most wanted and it’s finally here. It’s so AWESOME, it’s my 5th favorite Death Battle.
Literally might be the best episode ever
Just so peak
nobody noticed bowser landing a black flash at the very end
Gotta get those Smash Bros crit lightning. Makes it look nice
Hands down the best animation in death battle and soundtrack of death battle! Also best reaction Rapter! 😆😄
Awesome reaction and this fight was awesome. Excited for the hilarity that is Among Us vs. Fall Guys.
Issues with the verdict aside I love this episode so much, easily my favorite from the revival era and I genuinely don’t know how they’ll top it for awhile. Peak music, peak visuals, peak action, decent pre analysis, and some good character moments with Jr., Metal, Sage and Bowser. 9/10 for sure.
this is my favorite death battle ep of the show i just love animation so much i can't not stop watching it over and over just love it
Watching your reaction to Fall Guys vs Among Us was pure bliss
This is definitely going in the Top 10 best Death Battles that ScrewAttack's ever done. I am so hyped for Among Us vs Fall Guys, Wile E. Coyate vs Tom Cat, and Hulk vs Godzilla
I'm glad they brought up how busted Kamek is. He can legit just make Bowser giant and invincible whenever he wants. And he can alter reality as well. It's no wonder he's the #3 of the Koopa Clan only being Bowser and Bowser Jr. themselves (and the one that most likely taught Bowser his black magic powers as well)
Personally I think if these two meet each other in an official crossover, not like the Olympics or Smash Bros, they would be really best friends.
I think they would annoy the hell out of each other. Two big egos don’t typically mesh, especially the size of Eggmans.
Man this fight was not disappointing, so much fun to watch
Their friendship really fell off after the Olympic Games cancellation
You saying, “Look at this,” just as Eggman says, “Get a load of this,” is extremely funny to me
I love this episode so much.
His main plan in that game was to use Wonder to "Hypnotize the Universe" with a giant musical number.
not the only time he's tried this, either.
Man they knocked it out of the park with this one
How would I wish to see a remake/remaster of Eggman vs Wily now with what they showed in this army vs army fight
This may not be one of my top 10 favorite MU's, but in all honesty, this is so far the best fight Death Battle ever bring💞
Shout out to Bowser Jr surviving a hit from Super Neo Metal Sonic😅😅😅 how did he actually do that
Hé did survive the Universe getting destroy with Bowser
Suprise hé didnt die
extra lives.
Honestly I don't know if they can ever top this episode, I find it *that* good 😁
By far and large, the absolute best Death Battle ever.
My bad the generals didn’t desert. Eggmans forces were signing up for Bowser’s army
another cool detail, the battle started with a cardboard fakeout, and that's all junior left eggman with in the end.
I loved this fight so much but damn Bowser’s team’s magic was basically unbeatable😂😂😂
No Metal Virus
No Phantom Ruby powers (RIP Infinite💀)
No METAL SONIC SCALING
No Time Eater
Bower literally not dying and turning into Dry Bowser😂
This dethroned billcord as my favorite death battle. Moro deserves some type of award for this animation.
Just a reminder that Bowser, Mario, and Peach can last a 5-vs-5 against Culex 3D (with his new power to "consume all of time and space") and his similarly-potent 3D Crystals - and invincibility power-ups are completely optional.
27:06 Also Eggman death almost look like final smash in future Smash bro game
My favorite moment is when Bowser protects his army before eggman fires the death egg
I'd say it was Bowser blasting Super Metal Sonic alongside Eggman's armada to atoms for hurting Junior. Don't mess with the child, else face the wrath of the parent.
SHOWTIME is the best moment. The arrival of Fury Bowser into the punch just goes so hard.
This makes Three Sonic characters that died from an massive explosion
Reminder that for the soundtrack they got Victor Borba himself, aka the guy who sung BURY THE LIGHT.
animation was awesome. great episodes for sure!
27:07 JACK BLACK FLASH!!!
Looks Like Bowser is having Eggs for his Victory Feast.
This was so Hype Lovely job this makes me WISH that Nintendo and Sega made an actual collab for mario and sonic and not a Olimpic game
Statistically, Eggman probably got enough coins form the Death Egg Block to get a one up
Ehh, he has survived worse
In 27:05 and Cool Easter Egg... where Dry Bowser about to hit Dr. Eggman final Blow. You can spot 8 Bit Version of themselves
Note: Classic Nintendo Bowser and Classic Sega Dr. Eggman
This was the best Death Battle episode in the shows history
They cooked so much with this one. Probably my #2 episode after billcord. And i could see it passing billcord
Another classic case of Magic vs. Science
This was a Good One
“Could be epic”
Me: searches up who owns Fall Guys.
I see what you did there Rappter
Change my mind, this is the best mario vs sonic episode of all time. Moro did an excelent work :,)
they were saying it's unclear if Infinite counts as a friend/ally, not whether he should be included
Yeah!!!!! Death Battle is back, Baby!!!!!!
11:16 - 11:18
I mean, that's just it.
Ever since Maria's death,
That's all they ever talk about,
And that really broke Eggman(metaphorically.).
Or at least, I Think that's what they meant or something.
25:33 - 25:36
Are you feeling it, Mr. Bowser?
26:51 - 27:17
Well Ig it looks like Bowser and his army just put Eggman between a block and a hard place.
23:05 anyone notice the TIE Fighter?
This was a good reaction.
i feel like the phantom ruby shouldn’t have been taken like that but it is what it is. 20:35
Jack black vs Jim carrey looks fire
Let’s be honest. This fight in reality would end with Eggman to lose then run and escape in his Egg Mobile😂😂
I cried when i saw the k.o im so happy!!!!
My most wanted ended the way i wanted
