    Live bait tip..... When useing minnows hook behind dorsal fin instead of the head keeps them alive longer and gives them more rang to move and attract more fish

    we all grew up using live bait while going fishing when we were young weather it was worms, crickets, or minnows that's how I started and I still love using live bait from time to time

      +WestCoastFishing Hell no! I live in Florida and I would still rather catch smallmouth back home in AZ than Peacocks, don't get me wrong I love catching em but smallmouth are the most aggressive and fight the hardest imo and I'm mostly a lmb angler.

    I find it very funny, that the majority of your videos are shot at the same puddle. Where there is not enough of a food source for the bass to consume.therefore you keep catching the same hungry ones over and over again take your skills to a lake or a flowing water source and see your luck there...however I find your videos very knowledgeable for the novice fisherman....
    ... but keep fishing 😀

      Always release bass unless it's a private pond and you are trying to weed out the small ones so the big ones have more food.

  • @jdogg661420
    @jdogg661420 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    nice vid, we can use live bait here but only if we dip net shad. so i never tried it yet. but im shorelife. though i heard of some sneaky ninjas here who used to dip net shad from shore. ive never tried it nor do i have a dip net. but i know if you can catch shad here almost every one on hook will score you a fish. i do use worms sometimes when i do more microfishing sunfish fingerlings of the bigger ones largies, striped, smallies and one night i got 3 bass here using only nightcrawler pieces, in this super pressured water. and that was the most bass i caught in one night at this place. two were dinks though but one wasnt so bad. cya

      Jan Gorum "recreational bass fishing and how it pertains to me." Write an essay on it. Some people want to catch big fish. Some people want to catch small fish. Some people want to catch fish without using bobbers. You could go forever on the infinite reason that people want to catch fish.

    Can you stop torquing their jaw when you hold the fish, trying to look cool? youre doing harm to their jaw after you release them, its far too common for bass fisherman to do this, trying to be all macho. Its poor fishing etiquette, please just hold them with a straight verticle grip on their jaw, its much safer for the fish.

    Live bait can permanently destroy the fishing in ponds

    • @Flatlander94
      @Flatlander94 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      how so?

    • @westcoastfishing2768
      @westcoastfishing2768 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Zac Nead because fish are caught over and over and over on something they can't resist by natural instinct. When the Same fish are caught so rapidly they have a much higher chance of dying from stress, disease and from being improperly handled. I've witnessed it before at a pond where there were dozens of kids using bluegill in the same spot every single day of summer, there were dead bass on the shoreline every day for and the following 2 years the bass fishing was absolutely horrible. Now the pond doesn't have this problem as bad anymore and 3 years later (today) the bass fishing has rebounded.

    • @Flatlander94
      @Flatlander94 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +WestCoastFishing that's pretty weird I guess I never thought of that here in arkansas we eat alot of what we catch and I only use live bait on something I intend to eat

    • @westcoastfishing2768
      @westcoastfishing2768 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Zac Nead that's perfect then. If you are fishing to catch a meal then it's a better choice to use live bait. I've never been to Arkansas but here in SoCal it is really over populated and all of our small reservoirs and ponds are ruined because of years of over fishing. Then people stop fishing those lakes and ponds, the bass population rises over the next year or 2 and everyone over fishes it again. It's a vicious cycle and as a fisherman I hate living here

    • @Flatlander94
