Yes, I think that the high fracture is what you're looking for, it's more common in North America as stone. Maybe add a little mix color, you can combine those two methods.
You do such beautiful work, thank you for all of the tips and help. I only wish you could know how much you have helped me through out my recovery from cancer. I enjoy watching your videos so much and have learned a great deal.
I did do faux Larimar at one point, just no tutorial yet. You can see my first attempts on the blog. I didn't post anything yet on the final pieces. Look here kalyanadesign.blogspot.com/2017/05/ammonite-tutorial-and-more-larimar.html
Thank you so much! What a fantastic video and tutorial! I cannot wait to try this! I wonder if Pardo translucent or Cernit would be a good brand of translucent to use for this.?
Thank you! Absolutely about Pardo. Pardo is much better to use than Premo translucent anytime. I can't speak for Cernit translucent as I've never tried it.
Thank you! I have never seen Ludmila's aquamarines. I wasn't even aware she had a video about that. I've see her other imitation gemstones but not aquamarines.
Haha, thank you. You got me confused there, I know Ludmila makes a lot of gemstione imitation techniques, and I was wonderring if she did an aquamarine one and I just didn't see it. Thank you for the vote of confidence
A good teacher will also tell you that you should stop wanting to make complicated pieces without putting in the work. For simple things, go watch my tutorials for beginners.
you must be that kind of person that likes to wAnDeR around the WORLD WONDERING (like Tolkien said ; not all who wander, are lost ...), I like your videos ; they are informational( is that a word? ) and you have an insightfull kind of perception and humor ;-)
Thank you! Yes, I should have tested the ochre mix first before using it in a tutorial. I think it was the difference Premo/Pardo, usually it colors Premo more.
Shadow Bane Maybe you should show us how well your faux opal techniques work first before you start criticizing someone else's valuable work/effort that they are kind enough to share with us. You obviously have no clue how to do any of this or else you would have more appreciation for all of the work that goes into this. Kalyana, you did a fantastic job! No natural gemstones are ever perfect so yours don't have to be either. We thank you for sharing your wonderful technique with us.
Exactlu. Besides, I would be worried if I wouldn't get the thumbs down from them lol. It would mean that my videos aren't that good anymore to get them all frustrated. :)
yep. Even in a "yin-yang"-symbol there's always a small black dot in the white area; idem dito same philosophy 4 the black area ; thriving the perfect balance ; avoiding black/white perceptions :-)
I think I said in the description, change the speed the video plays at from that little gear. This was one of my first videos, at the time I did not have good equipment and I had a crappy internet connection, it would take me about 3 hours for each 5 minutes of video when uploading, so I was trying to cram as much information as possible. If my health will allow it, I fully intend to re-make all my first videos
btw... " Smudginess" IS a word ..haha. ..but I still don't understand the thumbs down... I would give you 5... but youtube doesn't allow that... I tried ! Don't give up In what you do, Kalyana !
❤️the last blue baked one- perfect!! Ooooooh goody now I get to have a go lol!! THANK YOU SO MUCH MUCH APPRECIATED!!👍🏾

I like the high frac too....I think your aquamarines are better than the ones that came out of the ground
Thank you! I have never seen Ludmila's aquamarines. I wasn't even aware she had a video about that. I've see her other imitation gemstones but not aquamarines.

You are right, that third stone didn't come up that good. The other ones are ok.

Exactly
looks beautiful but all the mixing and quick movements was not easy to follow. Too much going on
