You all are doing great and I love seeing all that triple-and-quadruple checking! Better to do it now, than dig it up later! As Dory says…”Just keep swimming!” The progress you have made is so awesome!! ❤

I got my shirt! I ordered the dark blue one with the plain white design, and as someone who hates tags and scratchy material, this shirt has NO tag, and is SO SOFT AND COMFY!! 🥰❤️ Also, I hated those pipe balloons as well when I worked in construction, that same thing happened to us 4 times on one house!! 😩 I’m so glad that it worked out for you and yay for filling in!!! 🙌🏻😊❤️

Just a thought, but it may be possible to drive your truck along the trenches on the mounds and break up some of those clods of clay. Hose them down the night before and maybe throw a piece of plywood over the piles to distribute the weight and crush more of the chunks. Or toss the chunks to the outside of the trench/mounds and then drive over them if your truck can't climb up onto the piles. I know you'll get 'er done either way, so best of luck!

Things that will make your work lighter and safer; comfortable working boots and thick cotton socks, comfortable gloves, good back support, a piece of thick cotton cloth under your cap long enough to cover the back of your head and neck from the sun (even better: a Double Weaved Hard Shell Shade Hat Large Fit Wide Brim Straw Hat) long-sleeve cotton shirt, cover your eyes, face mask to avoid breathing dust, take frequent hydrating breaks with a home-made electrolyte, start as early as possible to avoid the high sun when it's hotter and stop working when the sun is hotter, don't carry or lift more than 20 pounds if you can split the load in smaller portions, use some means of leverage when lifting, pulling, pushing, when possible, play some nice, invigorating/stimulating music while working.

There's an explanation why they don't drill their own well. But rain catchment in the southwest is sure a gamble, season by season. Having more capacity in your cisterns helps to make up for some of the shortage when you do get a generous rainfall.
