How to Paint Wraiths | Mansions of Madness Ep. 1 | Painting

- I paint the wraiths from Mansion of Madness: Sanctum of Twilight. This unfortunately, was one of the my least favorite models to actually paint. It lacks a lot of detail and there are some annoying choices with the model's sculpt.
Nonetheless, this tutorial will show you two ways to paint the model. If you want a simpler method, you can check out my zombicide painting tutorial for the spectral zombies: • Zombicide Painting Tut... . Pretty simple, but effective method for ghostly type figures.
In this painting guide, I do show you how to do translucent clothing (a technique I have no fully mastered, but this is better than I've ever done previously). While I don't necessarily love the final results, they are growing on me. I looked at the models right before posting this, and they aren't half bad.
I personally like the 2nd way of doing translucent clothing. It does take a long time, but you can get a pretty good effect at the end.
Yes, I labeled this episode 1 (technically it's not) but, I'm relabeling the series to more reflect where I actually talk about techniques and ease people into techniques.

This turned out to not be my favorite mini to paint, but they came out okay. What's everyone one's favorite mansions of madness miniature to paint so far? I think it was the star vampire for me.
Cardboard N' Plastic I really enjoyed the skeletons and then the hired guns!
Nice! Yea, those were nice pretty clean and simple ones. I like trying to make these as cool as possible when I can.
What painting handle is that by the way?
www.kickstarter.com/projects/2066522358/miniature-holders-and-grips-for-painting-and-sculp It's from that kickstarter. It's pretty comfortable, but it does have some downsides for some of the minis I tend to paint.
@@Paint_to_play Thanks, I'll take a look. Cheapest around are the Citadel ones it seems. Have you tried those?
@@TheOneGreenMan Personally no, but I've heard pretty good things about them. They seem a bit bulky to me, but if you have bases, they do look to grip them really well.
