This type of documentaries are 100 times better than the BBC, they are grounded and made at a relaxing pace.

An excellent and informative video, which does justice to the social, archaeological and natural history of the Isle of Bute.

Few years ago I did walk from Dunagoil fort to Scalpsie all the time along water and was quite challenge in places (coarse bushes and boulder beaches), last year I did walk from Scalpsie to Ettrick, again all the time next to water and this was even more difficult because saltmarsh behind Ninian point and some boggy places after. Most diffucult was walk in 2018 from Rhubodach ferry to Kilmichael, thick brackens, thorns and boulders makes its really difficult if you want keep close to water. I still have to walk from Kilchattan to Dunagoil to complete Bute west coast.

Occasionaly on paddle steamer Waverley the commentator mentions the dog which swam across the Kyle's to it's masters grave in the churchyard(13.00).

Are you allowed to walk on the beach?

Yes, but it can be difficult at times because of rocks, pebbles etc.
