Seeing ur mom get emotional hearing Tupac voice shows how much of an impact he’s made in his short time with us his impact will be forever !🫡

so glad im seeing someone else enjoy mortal man. the fact kendrick ended the album on that note was so powerful, meaningful, but mostly heartbreaking. i sit in silence for a long while after everytime i hear it

It’s such a powerful moment in hip hop that’s barely talked about I feel

@@tbkreact right??? moments like u and alright are certainly as iconic as they deserve but that chopped up interview is one of the most artful things ive heard from any genre. as much praise as kendrick gets he still manages to be overlooked lmao

I’m in my mid 40s, and I too grew up in the era of 80s & 90s hiphop, along w Tupac being larger than life in that era.
I hadn’t listen to very much hiphop after 2001/2002 as it just wasn’t interesting to me anymore.
Kendrick Lamar reignited my love for the music, and when this album dropped I was hyped and blown away.
But the very first time hearing Mortal Man, and when Tupac’s voice came on, my mouth dropped, eyes got watery. I was beyond thrilled and shocked at the same time because I didn’t know what was going on. It was like hearing the voice of an old friend or lost loved one again, kind of like a dream.
This album is a masterpiece. Kdot is a king. And RIP Tupac.

If she loved the joint with Rapsody, y'all need to listen to her album Eve.
There's a severe lack of Rapsody love in the reaction space and she is AMAZING.

fun fact, when kendrick says "loving you is complicated" on u., he was talking to himself, according to an interview i watched a little while ago on this song and a few others

I still don't understand how this album got so much hate when it came out. Kendrick never fails when it comes to delivering quality music.

@@Biden_Bluhit got hate because people wanted a good kid mad city 2. This album had to grow on a lot of people. Watch reviews from that time.

The first verse in U is about Kendrick not being able to protect his sister from becoming a teenage mom and he beating himself up because of it

I remember my first listen.. now I got spoiled by the ending but not really. I only knew Pac was on the last track. I didn't feel lost when hearing it for the first time. I think when you listen to music most people are just playing to listen, not for context. The why or how a song is made. Most of the songs were self explanatory especially the first three. Track one, Money... taxes... Wesley Snipes got it. Wesley went to jail for taxes but also black people aren't educated on how to utilize money. These Walls... "Sugarwalls" and "Prison Walls". Revenge on the killer of his best friend. U and I, songs about self-reflection. Songs I believe are about not lying to yourself. You Ain't Gotta Lie, being truthful at all times. Momma aka Africa. Complexion a song about self-hatred. Basically why does being White have value and being Yellow, Brown, or Black does not. The conclusion and still the problem in 2023 is White Supremacy/Racism. ✌🏿💯
