This song was one of those in the movie “Saturday Night Fever”. In fact, if I remember correctly, the song was in the very beginning of the movie when John Travolta was walking down the street. A lot of The Bee Gees songs were in that movie.

Barry Gibb "I'm a woman's man" and back then I was one of the many millions of women that wished he was this woman's man. I saw the Bee Gees on their very first tour in 1968 (yup, I'm that old) and Barry was gorgeous then - but nothing like as fabulous as in he became in the Saturday Night Fever day. It must have been hard for Robin and Maurice to have such a tall, dark, handsome older brother (and younger brother Andy was a close second in the looks department)

Most airplayed song around the globus - every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world and for sure it is the most iconic song of the 70´s decade. It’s an indelible cultural hallmark. None of that happens if that opening scene, is set to any song other than “Stayin’ Alive.
I can’t imagine one single production tweak that could make “Stayin’ Alive” work better. Everything is exactly where it should be. “Stayin’ Alive” is one of those songs that sounds like it’s always existed. It’s crazy to think that human beings had to make it up out of nothing.
It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history

The Beegees weren't just a normal band, they were child prodigies whose father taught and promoted them much like Mozart's father did or Michael Jackson's father did. They were just lucky to come out of it more well rounded then the others. Of course their younger brother didn't. The only thing that could make their music better is to hear it live. They were one of the few performers who sounded just as good or even better live. They were also ingenious composers who wrote tons of hits throughout the 80s and 90s for other musicians.

Yep this song was originally set for the Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta. That's actually where the white suit comes from, you can tell if you see the picture of the movie. In the beginning of the movie John Travolta is strutting down the street with a can of paint. It also came in the sequel to Saturday Night Fever which the movie was called Stayin' Alive. It's when Tony (John Travolta's character) auditions and lands the lead to a Broadway show. At the end of the movie this song was played as well after Tony finishes the debut show and struts out down Time Square to this song. I love The Bees Gees. May Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb rest in peace.

Great song, great to skate too. Fun fact the Bee Gees spent some time in Australia, Redcliffe, Queensland and began their career here in Australia. The song was from a movie starring John Travolta “Saturday Night Fever”.

Some of the best BeeGees music was their songs they performed in the 60s such as How Do You Mend a Broken Heart, Words or Run to me. Their favorite song they like to perform was Massachusetts.

I just love The Bee Gees. Every decade .. from 1960s - forward...they created fantastic music.

In the mid to late 70's, disco ruled and this was a big song during that era.

They used this song in CPR class to help teach us chest compressions! You know it’s a good song when it helps to save a life!😁😁

The Bee Gees wrote TEN songs for the movie Saturday Night Fever, from which this song derived; the final cut of the movie includes EIGHT original songs composed by the Bee Gees and of those eight they performed SIX. The perfect harmonies of the brothers and (in the black t-shirt) Barry's phenomenal falsetto voice helped propel this LP to becoming one of the best selling records of all time (the album, not just a song but the ENTIRE album, stayed on the Billboard charts for 120 WEEKS)! Tragically, the world has lost three of the four Gibb brothers now. The twins: Maurice (pronounced Morris--in the long sleeve shirt) died in 2003 and Robin (in the vest) died in 2012. The youngest Gibb brother, Andy, (twelve years Barry's junior) had his own successful solo music career and although he occasionally joined his brothers on stage during concerts he was never a member of the Bee Gees.

This song was actually first used in Saturday Night Fever, along with several other hits. John Travolta starred in the movie, which premiered in December 1977. Several bee gees hits made debut in that movie. In the beginning of the movie, John Travolta is struttin' through the streets of NY while Stayin' Alive is playing.

All Bee Gees is great. Gotta show the love for their pre and post disco era too though. Even their solo work is really good, especially Robin Gibb's.

"Staying Alive" is the speed you do CPR chest compressions.
Compression needs to be at least 100 compressions a minute.
This song is about 104 beats a minute.
