@@sistersofbulgaria9396 ☺️And you are so lucky to live in the wonderful country of Bulgaria that I'm coming soon to visit ! So happy to discover ! I Begin to learn your alphabet and some words to be able to talk a little with people
Oh wow! Welcome! If you have any questions while you are here feel free to message me anytime! I would be more than happy to help out as much as I can 😊 P.S. It is VERY impressive you are studying the language and alphabet. Bulgarian is not an easy language at all so don’t worry if it’s taking some time 😃. Good thing is many people here speak English (especially in the big cities) so you won’t have any problems 😊
@@sistersofbulgaria9396 thanks a lot. I may ask you for some tourism advices when in Bulgaria. The alphabet is difficult, sure, and I'm slow ! But for me it's a matter of respect for bulgarian people to be able to say some words in Bulgarian. So I work each evening ! I may look for few lessons when arrived. Keep making nice videos on Bulgaria please !

Hi Inge!! I cannot tell you how happy and excited you just made me by saying you added this video to your favorites! It just feels SO GOOD 😁 Hearing you think I am a good story teller also boosted my confidence because as someone who is pretty new to this it’s a little intimidating speaking and knowing many people will see it - so thank you very much for that! 😃😊 You should definitely take a trip next year for the festival- I think it will leave you with memories you will cherish your whole life 😊 If you need help planning please reach out to me! I am truly more than happy to help you with anything I can! 😊 🌹 Haha “Strauss” - isn’t that the funniest word!?
Oh well this year it is happening June 3rd - June 5th! Timing while traveling can be very tricky (trust me, I know lol) but next time you plan to come June if you are able to make it early June you will be right on time! For now I hope you were able to feel you joined us through the video- I know it’s not the same thing, but hey, it’s a start! 😊🌹
I really want to go see this . Didn't know that rose water could be drank. I think that you was moving the phone/camera a little to quickly for my slow eyes !.....lol
Yes! You can drink rose water BUT make sure it is 100% pure. It should say “ok for consumption” on the bottle (this is how you know it is pure). People actually love it so much that I started selling a few Bulgarian rose goodies on my Etsy. It’s a tiny shop but I have to say people seem to love Bulgarian rose 🌹 I’m sorry for the quick sway of the camera. This was one of my first videos and I still didn’t realize that I needed to slow the camera down a bit. I still move a bit too fast at times but have been working on it 😃
The plant that stings and makes your skin super itchy is called nettle. İts considered a super food. My mother in law makes a kind of soup with it. 😊🇨🇦🇹🇷✌️
Yes!! That’s the word! I was completely blanking on what it was called in English and google translate let me down this time 😅 Thank you for the correction 😊 It is considered a super food in Bulgaria as well! We make exactly the same- either a type of soup or a thicker type porridge consistency where we add eggs and a bit of Bulgarian cheese to it. Both super healthy and super delicious! 🤤 Always nice to hear from you neighbor from two countries! 😃❤️ 🇧🇬 🇺🇸
I wasn't aware of this, so it's interesting to see, you're a good storyteller. If it's more valuable than gold, I'm wondering why the whole agriculture sector isn't devoted to it ? Is it factory farmed ? Do the big perfumiers own rose farms in Bulgaria ? The history of the people sounds interesting. I recall being exposed to European population flows and morphing in Patrick Leigh Fermor's books about his travels and, as a Brit, with a history of less population movement, find it mind boggling.
Growing a rose Damascena is a very successful business, but it is not an easy job. The plants need special soil, a special temperature, a certain number of hours of sunshine, and it turns out that the valley between the two mountains Balkan and Sredna Gora is the perfect place for this. That is why there are the largest rose fields in Bulgaria.
Hi Daytona! I got so excited to see a comment from you 😊 I hope you are doing well and thank you so much for the supportive words. From what I learned asking around it is pretty difficult to break into the business for a number of reasons. Kremena is correct- it is an extremely tedious and time consuming industry. All of the roses need to be picked by hand at exactly a certain time of the day at exactly the right season. They also require a very special climate, soil etc. What is happening is there are numerous small private farmers who own land, grow & pick the roses but do not have the ability to work them… so they sell them to a handful of large companies for a fraction of their worth. Same thing is happening on my farm with tobacco leaves, walnuts, mushrooms etc 😕 I don’t know of any large international perfumeries who own rose farms in Bulgaria as of right now, but I need to do more digging on it. I’m very happy you found the history of Bulgaria interesting. To be honest, I was a bit unsure whether people would find it interesting but I feel it is always exciting to learn about the history of different cultures 😊
I’m planning to make a video on how to make traditional Bulgarian yogurt but I have to do some more research on the origins etc 😃. Once I learn everything I will share it with you guys. My grandpa used to make THE BEST Bulgarian yogurt in the world ❤️

You really make good videos, I enjoy them! How far is this City from your Village? It seems if you want to get a little City life you can always go there for a coffee, beer or a meal ... Greetings again from Naples, Florida :)
Thank you so much Randall!! I’m trying to learn and improve as I go so what you just said made me really happy 😊. This city is about a 3.5 hour drive but there is a smaller “city” 30 mins away by car. I’m putting “city” in quotation marks because it is so small I’m not sure I can call it a city haha 😆 Actually, I think my farm is more lively than the “city” 😄 It’s ok though, Bulgaria is so small that you can just hop in the car and getaway for the day. 🍻 Greetings! I absolutely LOVE Florida. We used to go there a few times a year when I was living in NYC. It’s so beautiful and relaxing ☀️😊
When I lived in Romania for a time as a volunteer, I was once given a jar of rose jam from Moldova. I might could get use to it. Explaining the history of Bulgaria is just crazy. We are so old, you forgot to mention that we had 2 empires, creators of the Glagolitic (now Cyrillic), yes we originally came from Asia but so did the Magyars and many other tribes in Europe centuries ago. You also forgot to mention that we are officially the only country in Europe that has NEVER changed its name since its creation in 681. The rose, the Cyrillic alphabet, our sour milk and not yoghurt, the lion (lev just like our currency) are the many symbols of the country. I would say we also have one of the most beautiful hymns in the world, a Women Choir and a great culture. We have not survived for centuries by chance even occupied by Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans who were most barbaric, Soviets and would say EU. Because it is not focused on its citizens anymore and became too political. Finally, would say we are proud of our flag and display it in many places. I have 2 in my small balcony. And what about our banging music? The Bulgarian music videos have millions and millions of views. Are those all not good reasons to feel proud? What about the tolerance and serenity we have compared to ex Yugoslavia, financial crisis in Greece and now weak Turkish economy? We had 5 elections in 2 years surpassing even Israel but still managed to survive. ДА ЖИВЕЕ БЪЛГАРИЯ!
I agree 100% with everything you said and even saved some information you wrote so I can read more about it later- thank you! Както винаги много интересно и хубаво, но не ви съветвам да разказвате историята на произхода ни, защото е много спорна, пък за азиатския ни произход специално е и доказано че не е вярна, въпреки че битува най-много сред населението.
