I mounted a couple of work lights on the rear on the flag mounts. (don't need a flag, and hate whips) I know there are wires under the fender, but where do they go, and how do you connect them to a switch? I haven't torn mine down that far yet to try to trace where they go. Hoping maybe someone knows. Would be nice to just use the pre-wire that's already there for the rear lights.
So I have and they are just hot when key is on. Since most whips are ran off a remote or Bluetooth on your phone the wires work great for that. I tried to trace them and didn’t have any luck. I have a install vid coming out soon with everything I added to my KRX. I’ll be show casing some cool light bars that we sell on our website on that vid as well. -Garrett
@@DerangedOffRoad I was afraid of that, but thanks for confirming. Saved me a lot of aggravation trying to figure it out. Don't think anyone would like riding behind me if those lights were always on. LOL Just mounted a 12" light bar on the front bumper. Took a bit of custom bracket work since Kawasaki chose to slope the bumper bar down towards the ground. Not cool. Light bar mounts from the bottom and not enough angle adjustment to get the light bar leveled out. Just need to mount the switch and figure out what to do with the extra mile of wire that came with the wiring harness/relay/switch kit now. I will probably end up cutting them to a proper length to keep things tidy behind the dash.
In the next vid I will talk about that all that as well. Just cut all the wires and use heat shrink tubing to go over the connections. It will look really good and not come loose.
Heard there was a plastic tube running from the winch area to the battery for power cables. Not sure if this is true but a good idea for Kawasaki to implement.
I’m not sure, I like to zip tie mine up in the fender areas so I don’t have to drill anything. That way any changes I make no big deal. PM us on Facebook and I can show you some pictures. 👍 -Garrett
I have lighted whips, coms system, rock lights, lighted mirrors and small light bar on the bus bar. If it was me I would run the winch straight off the battery which they have a tube installed for that. -Garrett
I got a 2021 krx and i have pulled out everything on passenger side of consol and it has been a pain in the you know what ......why i got it out i am putting in heat mats sound proof mats running trun Singles kit and running rock crawler lights and running led 8" bars off the back bar on top and i have put on mirrors with lights and a light bar on top ......yea...i been trying to get all this run and done still in the works doing it ...
I had a com system, cube lights, lighted whips, turn signal and rock lights on mine. The main light bar I wired straight to the battery. I believe it’s around 20 amp to 25 amps. -Garrett
You can use the pre installed pipe for the winch wires or you can fish them through the top under the hood. Right above the shock mounts you will see a place where you can run them through. That’s were I did mine.
It’s probably because the bottom piece pushes down when trying to install. Use a long small flathead to try and hold the bottom piece before pushing in the plastic rivet. -Garrett
I have a coms setup, lighted whips, rock lights, side mirrors, front bumper 8” light bar, and chase bar without an issue. My 43” light bar needed to be ran straight to the battery with a relay. -Garrett
damn, that CanAm at the end of your video doesn't flex at all..... wheels coming off the ground over even the smallest climbs, probably great on the high speed stuff though...... great video! i'D like to see how the factory Warn winch install goes, got one on order for my KRX and other than the pre-ran conduit i haven't seen much other on that subject.
You skipped the whole part I needed to see lol. I’ve had the center dash out but never figured out how to remove the cup holders and complete tunnel to the back like you had
I just added the fender flares on my krx n I had to take that screw off They sell a small screwdriver that can go in there it will save your life is 15$
Pre wired? Yes it has AUX wires for the rear for one accessory like whips or whatever. Then it has a bus bar installed already to hookup all your other accessories. You still need to run those wires to the bus bar. 👍
Yep no problem, overall the machine has been really well laid out for easy wiring and accessory hook up. I am pretty impressed how well they planned it. Some minor things that I would have done differently, but it’s small stuff. -Garrett

Yes you will find that fuse in the box behind your driver’s seat. 👍

I can’t get the front 2 plastic screws to stay when I reinstall the dash. (The 2 on top by the windshield) Any suggestions?
It’s probably because the bottom piece pushes down when trying to install. Use a long small flathead to try and hold the bottom piece before pushing in the plastic rivet. -Garrett
Is the bus bar behind the dash keyed or hot all the time?
It’s keyed power and the fuse for it is behind the drivers seat. 👍 -Garrett
