Makes me sick to see a team that has clearly been coached to play dirty, but those refs were atrocious. Game could have been kept under control with just a few whistles.
I agree completely, the refs lost control early on. They should have stopped the game, sat both teams down and told them double technicals were going to be called on every cheap foul, including the coaching staffs. Tell them you're fine with three on three by games end if it comes to it. Then do it.
That’s exactly the way I saw it. Those refs were ALL looking at the ball the entire time. They need to work different areas of the game. Poor officiating. And shitty sportsmanship, of course; but the refs need to stop it early.
Agree the officials weren't good. Either coaches aren't teaching the kids how to play the game clean and also be aggressive. The truly good coaches sit youth players when the start losing composure. That being said, that was a good playground basketball game.
All of the officials that worked this game should be fired, and never allowed to referee another basketball game. They allowed both teams to get away with numerous cheap shots and unnecessary foul’s. This game was a disgrace.
riiighhtt... blame the refs... that makes sense. Agreed it is one of the primary jobs of the referee to not lose control of the game, but sometimes things brew up VERY quickly and throwing out a bunch of players and coach(s) can be the spark.
@@chug_norri9451 Actually if you are at the point of throwing out multiple players and coaches you should just call the game a forfeit and leave the court. Referees have been attacked repeatedly. Your own personal safety must be your paramount concern. Call the game. Leave the court. Suggest to the school, facility, etc. administration that calling the Police may be warranted. Then leave the facility.
I'm a basketball fan but that number 7 of FEU should't be playing in the league. He's a disgrace how the coach and referees tolerating his dirty plays. And I salute LaSalle's #6 for his patience is incredibly well.
This is the PROBLEM with Philippines basketball.......many games are played like this, breeds punk ass culture. Officials and Administration not doing their job......for many years its disgusting to watch. Clean the game up.........seriously it’s not that hard to figure out. Set some rules, massive fines life bans and most definitely referee performance reviews..........referees not blowing whistle let it go to this point. The refs have failed to set the physicality of the game......flagrant foul.
@Julius Turner Dumbest thing I read in awhile. So you want him to escalate things which will 99% of the time result into a fight by "sticking up for himself" and jeopardize his career. Instead of his coaches and the association whose job it is to protect the players...fail to do their job. In the NBA this rarely happens because there is oversight and there are media eyes everywhere...you get labeled as a dirty player and you either change or they force you out. Steve Kerr just recently yelled at Clay Thompson for putting his feet under a shooter. That is what is SUPPOSE to happen. Not players take it into their own hands.
@Julius Turner I said in awhile not ever, reading comp is fundamental. Bullies stop for two reasons, you punch them in the face or you make the act of bullying detrimental to the bully. Aka, fine them, suspend them, ban them, etc. Since punching the bully in the face could jeopardize the career of the MUCH better player...the organization should be keeping him safe and doing their job.
I am pretty sure the coach helped teach that garbage. Know it was a long time ago, but watching this video speaks volumes of how he is also coached. A good coach wouldn't tolerate that play. A dirty coach on the other hand like this one....
“The two-step, lead-with-your-foot closeout is not appropriate,” Popovich. This Dennison person can seriously hurt another player, a couple of times Ricci landed on his foot. While I agree the referee were not able to control the game, but this Dennison guy was committing aggressive unsportsmanlike conduct whenever the refs are nor looking. This guy is dangerous and dirty, #UAAP should put a check on this guy before he injures a player.
During a pickup game I had a guy do it to me. Tore 3 ligaments in my ankle. Surgery, boot for 6 months, on crutches with no weight bearing at all for 4 months. Ever since then, for the rest of my life I’ve had chronic ankle sprains. Turn around too fast? Limping for a week.
I'm a graduate of FEU long time ago, this is the first time I've seen Tamarraw basketball players behave badly and play dirty as well as dangerously. Disappointing, big time! No class at all. The blame should go first to the referees for not doing their job properly, call a technical foul and throw them out for unsportsmanlike behavior. Next to blame is the coaching staffs of the FEU team for tolerating dirty plays, if you don't say anything it means you are encouraging them to continue what they are doing. Getting into a players head is different from trying to hurt them. This game apparently just wasted everybody's time and enjoyment to watch a basketball game from teams coming from Manila. The UAAP committee can review all the video coverages from this and start throwing out suspensions and penalties (money) to teach everybody a lesson.
you're right, but me personally i am going to blame the coach, as a coach of under 12 and under 14 kids in uk. ayaw kong makita na masaktan ang mga players ko at ayaw ko din na makasakit sila. kung ako ang nagpapatakbo ng uaap, ban ko ang coach at players ng FEU ng mga nanakit, kung di papayag ang FEU... ban ko sila sa liga. just to teach everyone that such action is not tolerated and totally unacceptable.

I'm an FEU alumnus and an avid supporter of the Tamaraws basketball team for ages, but I’m done with this guys (Ron Dennison) on court transgression and dirty tactics. There’s a big difference between being absurdly competitive and being too aggressive and always going out looking to start a fight or hurt somebody in every game he’s in. Whatever the case may be there is no place in the game for these types of actions. I don’t respect players like this, too dirty for the game and they must kick him off this team.
The referees let the game get out of control. I know that the video was selectively edited to go after one player. However, there were multiple fouls on nearly every possession and on both teams.
FEU and its coaching staff and team management should discipline their players. Unless the instruction came from them...hmmm...historically knowing FEU...your guess is as good as mine 🤔
Dennison is an absolutely dirty player who should be banned from the UAAP and other leagues. He's also despised by other teams for his consistently dirty tactics through the years. He's better off in the UFC octagon or in MMA fights where he will feel much more comfortable getting hit and taken down.
the officiating allowed it to escalate and even put the young players in danger, i understand if the refs are letting them play physical but extra motions and the landing spot fouls are crucial calls to ensure the safety of all players, its disgusting to see a young player to play so dirty at this level, that Dennison kid has no right to be on court with those kind of antics, he trying to hurt the dude hes defending because hes being outplayed and getting hes ass handed to him.
Dennison is a dirty player, but on the 2:45 play, there is no punched swing and the challenged afterwards was good and not a landing spot foul because of how far Ricci landed... happens a lot on elevator plays like that...(and before people react, i hate people who do those landing spot fouls because i was a victim of that one and got injured for 2 weeks or so) and LOL at Tolentino commends Ebonia when we dont have an audio and we only see him give Ebonia a low five and a tap in the head... and finally, the referees are the most to blame here as they didnt do anything to stop things from escalating
There is so much with this I can't imagine what was going on with that group of referees. I think that game was above their referring level. Those guys missed and allowed so much that I can't see that group refereeing on that level for awhile. They allowed dirty play through out . Elections , technicals, were missed. It comes down to calling what you see and being confident doing it . When a Referee or group of Referees a game to move in this direction they bear alot of responsibility if someone gets seriously injured. Coaches should be held responsible as well as the players. They should have ejected players in this game. A kid kicks another kid is straight up ejection. Send that message and and get all that bull crap out of the game. I will tell players in pregame that unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. I'm not a hard nose but if you cross that line you just earned what you got. I just think those guys were above their heads. Players will adjust to how you call the game. I like to let them play but within the rules. Know what you are dealing with before time. Do these teams have a history of playing rough, what are their records (1st and 2nd place) are they physical or finesse or a mixture. The intimidating factor maybe involved. Look access and then adjust. Any foul( push after the whistle)is a technical. Call it to settle that crap down or get it out of the game.
It looks like a ballgame in a city park on black top court with a chain hoop. For the ones that don't know why it is a big deal the one kid keeps putting his foot in the landing spot it is a dirty move to try to get the one landing to roll or flat out break a ankle

In case of failed shots, even the best players in NBA could miss naman. Buti na lang di dinidibdib ni Ricci. Kung yabang naman ang pag-uusapan, he's one of the players na very warm sa fans kahit pagsabihan mo pa na magmadali kasi may ibang pupuntahan, sinisigurado niya na maentertain niya lahat ng fans. I hope, wish, and pray that dirty players like them get what they deserve. Especially Dennison, since Teng captainship pa yan. Hays, frustrating.
First and foremost I hold responsibility to the referees. They let this game get out of hand right away it was very chippy and a player who is shooting has the right to come down in the same space he took that shot and it is a foul anytime during that whole movement from going up shooting it and coming down at any time he's fouled he gets to shoot. Number 7 should have been thrown out of that game early on constantly was doing cheap shots on the opponent!
LOL, this is not UAAP sanctioned game. If it happened in UAAP then surely Dennison will be suspended and some of the players who are involved in the bench clearing.
wag isali ang wala. Yes ben wasnt there. Im pointing Feu played physical they get into the skin of dlsu. La salle is getting frustrated because their down.
I played football against a team that played dirty. First regular play I got a jab to my throat. I blew it off and the guy who did it instantly got scared. A few years later I watched my school play the same team. One of them decided, instead of tackling our player with the ball, he'd blatantly grab the facemask and aggressively bring him down just a few feet in front of the rest of my team. Thankfully cooler heads prevailed and they just let the refs kick the kid out, but my school has a reputation of finishing fights (not starting them) so I knew there was a good chance both teams could start brawling then and there.
First to blame ..Refs ...you have complete control of what goes on , and how you allow the teams to play. 2nd ...the coaching staff, the cheap street ball tactics used are definitely coached. The intent to injur is there , especially with the non chalant foot out on three point shots. That player is trying to roll the jump shooters ankle when he lands. ...disgrace !
It s the ref s fault for letting it get out of hand. Call a refs timeout and tell the kids if they even breath on each other I’m calling it. Control the game before someone gets hurt.
The referees are to blame but so the whole FEU Team. That is a systemic bullying on your opponents. Kasi kulelat, madumi maglaro. If I was in the La Salle Team, tulog iyan si Dennison.
A few year after and this dennison guy is even the pro league. Are we waiting for this guy to actually seriously hurt somebody before they teach him a lesson?
Honestly this play isnt bad, for street ball. there was clearly a skill difference, and it turned from trying hard, to trying too hard, to getting upset that you cant try enough to win.
I remember the coach for my HS'S Basketball team was getting tired of the team's inaffectiveness to do things he wanted them to do and he even threatened them to suspend the rest of the season to produce a better result in the games or he was going to suspend the rest of the season due to inaffective play.
Guaranty parents would cry now, and coach would be fired before that happened in this day and age. "My 5'4 baby is going to the League and this coach is ruining it for him..." type mentality now.
at 1:36... I see 2 notations of "Dennison 'punches' Ricci"... not seeing punches... also don't see an elbow... he did attempt 2 trips, one at each end... and the feet in the landing area is kind of a "bang bang" play that doesn't get called often at any level... so a minute and a half in, I'm starting to think this was pieced together by a biased party who only wants to point out what one side (green, and specifically Dennison) was doing. Possibly a parent of someone from 'white'? Note: as stated above... this comment was made after only watching 1 minute and 36 seconds... resuming now.

Ulul mas matino pa larong kanto dyan bulbol
Recorded horizontally:)
What do you expect of Dennison, larong squatter. 😫 A disgrace to FEU's team
Oo kupal Ung laro ni Dennison dyan hayop
If I’m hooper in white, I’m telling one of my boys to cut 7 face after the game
Where the hell is the melee? 8 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
Fr where is the melee
The title says "before"
Saan melee dun?
then search for the melee.. coz the title says before the melee...
It seems that reading comprehension is still as issue in the Philippines.
Thats 80"s basketball! Love it
Where's the melee?
Craig Nelson I said the same thing
"BEFORE" the melee... Omg..
The op is an obvious drama queen.
Exactly!! That is NOT melee.
They practice dirty and play dirty. It's part of their gameplan.
What happen coach Nash of FEU? Why are u tolerating ur players to ruin the sports of basketball? Disappointed basketball fan here. Tsk tsk
Dude most probably u are not from UAAP school.
so bad....don't they know that EVERYONE has cameras these day.
Players with no skill are the ones who play dirty. Blame goes to the coach and parent (s). Kid is a looser for life.
Soo... I seen a lot of "take my ball and go home" moments but was there a brawl or not?
The referees are to blame but so the whole FEU Team. That is a systemic bullying on your opponents. Kasi kulelat, madumi maglaro. If I was in the La Salle Team, tulog iyan si Dennison.
systemic bullying lol
That coach should been taken his license.
uaap should banned this kind of player. He put the lives of other players in danger.
The boys were taught how to play this way.
Melee? The bait continues. Tough fighting game refs suck.
Those referees allowed that game to get out of hand
I agree it was definitely dirty playing... but to call the last foul "life-threatening" is being a little melodramatic don't you think?
Have you ever played basketball before?
Dont comment if you are just an spectator
just a little dramatic.
This video is worth more than attention.
wala kang asensong player no. 7..
Why is there no audio on this video...?
mga asal squatter talaga tong FEU 🤣
what makes you different from saying that?
He just pointed out what was obvious, that doesn't make him "asal squatter" too.
yOu ShOt Up, yOu DoN't KnOw Wh4t Is ThE rEaL hApPeNeD
Christian's logic and Cindy's comment made my day. lol 🤣🤣🤣
bear hug its logical, players have their own mind on how to play the game and really cant blame them if the refs didn't see it :))
Ah, what melee? All I saw was number 7 playing dirty basketball.
Tangina bobo reff.may pinapanigan.
Green team looked like they were salty because they were getting handled.
dennison lufet mo hahaha ,d mo kc kaya c ricci yan nlng pde mo gawin dirty plays, kasalanan din yan ng referees mxdo maluwag tawag nila sa mga fouls.
Surprised it didn't happen sooner after watching this...
There seems to be a rash of misleading video titles lately. Is this what posters are resorting to now?
PAchulia 2.0 😁😁
A few year after and this dennison guy is even the pro league. Are we waiting for this guy to actually seriously hurt somebody before they teach him a lesson?
Honestly this play isnt bad, for street ball.
there was clearly a skill difference, and it turned from trying hard, to trying too hard, to getting upset that you cant try enough to win.
When you are a defender and the emotions for TAUNTERS are high. 😔
Feu squatters
You know the teams that play dirty every game suck, or they wouldn't have to play dirty.
no good players feu.. pinapakita nyo lang na no match kayo sa dlsu kaya nagdudumi kayo..
FEU was leading by a huge points before the melee, it's actually a won game for FEU already.
IF THEY ARE BLIND, THEY SHOULD NOT BE REFEREES. SO MANY FOULS, SO LITTLE DONE...THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF FAILURE TO DO YOUR JOB.
The coach from the Greek jersey knew what his boy was doing. So the coach is the worst human in this match
Bulag mga referee😵😵😵
What happened to the sound? And where's the melee?
dapat ma evict yang dennison sa uaaap
evict amputa bobo pa pumili ng term
How you play dirty then get mad because they're starting to retaliate
oh this is just 1980s nba styleni like it
I’d just walk off the court and go take a shower because screw this guy who is just trying to get me seriously injured.
That's the dirtiest game of basketball I've ever seen
Dennison does not think about his fellow players what if his cheap dirty tactics, will indeed cripple for life a fellow player?
I blame the coach for teaching or condoning that style of play.
The Referees should never work again.
WOW THAT WAS AN EXHIBITION OF HOW TO NOT PLAY !!! THE GUYS IN GREEN WERE CLEARLY TRAINED TO PLAY DIRTY !! # 41 BEING THE WORST !!!!!
Looks like it goes both ways to me at times.
"My 5'4 baby is going to the League and this coach is ruining it for him..." type mentality now.
the referees were incompetent. they failed to contain dennison's shenanigans early on.
Hard nosed basketball. I love it.
sound?
ok i waited 8 minutes for a melee, does it have it's own clip i can watch?.....
That court is niiice!!!
Did duke change their colors to green
Team in white flops more than a fish on deck.
Bad refs is sometimes the source of this
The fouls all looked rehearsed and calculated. Wasn't just one player but the whole team. The coach of the green team shoud be banned for life
Hey Dennison... life has a funny way of what goes around comes around and trust me son you will get yours
Dennison's favorite player..... Grayson Allen
Awesome breakdown bro
