That's a trip! I never knew Dave Irwin and Les Cheetham filled in for Mantas for the Studio 54 show! I read they did late night rehearsals so they can at least learn the main riffs. You can hear all the wrong notes being played here, but still not bad for being so last minute how they had to make his playing passable for this live show. I saw the Venom / Slayer / Exodus show at the Hollywood Paladium on 4/19/1985, of course Mantas was on guitar that night.
One of the most brutal recordings of Venom !!! I have to admit.... Guitars here are more melodious. Not weird. Mantas is not wher . Who was playing Venom metal at the time? But it is absolutely not bad! This is good!!!!

Explains why the footage never showed up on the video. Cronos claimed they chopped the video cables with a fire axe because the venue wasn't going to pay them. Yeah right, more likely they didn't want this terrible performance on video. Same as all the cuts and overdubs on the official Hammersmith 84 release
