I have cupra 280. It was actually 293bhp before mapping to stage 1 plus by NVM, now running 376bhp with 490nmt, DSG remap by dynomap. Has a larger TIP, with Ramair Inlet pipe, I’ve kept original air filter and box as there’s nothing better or any real gains on having anything else ! Proven when running it on rolling road with various air filters, Dog bone insert and PS4 tyres are essential on these to get any 0/40 traction, best 0-60 on a good dry Road was 4.25. But the fun comes after 40/50 all the way to the top !
It's so easily passed off these days, but 400hp is no fuckin' joke. That thing is gonna MAD quick for the UK roads, and you haven't even changed turbo yet. So insane what you can do on the MQB cars!

I've got a 70 plate cupra 290, these cars are so underrated. So much more fun than a golf r, s3 and dare I say it gti of any kind.
I drove all above, and the cupra put the biggest smile on my face. Plus saved me thousands power to pounds no brainer.

you have a spectacular car! I really like his lines! Here in my country there is no longer this three-door version! There are only five-door body and station wagon. And there is this «CUPRA» version in both car and station wagon but with DSG automatic transmission!
Jamie, you need some billet shifter bushings!!!! Bracket/cable ends. Check out the clip when the gears banging in the engine bay, you can see how sloppy the stock ones are. Very good upgrade.
Golf R's clutch slip at standard so I can imagine the Cupra could be prone to that too.
My younger brother had a monster Cupra these things are so underrated. He made 412bhp stage 2 before he sold it for an RS3 for traction as he said the Cupra ended up spinning with mitchellin ps4s.
My A45 was stock back then and I could never keep up with him unless it rained.

Highly recommend changing the gear linkages for solid ones when you’re adding a short shifter. Massive bang for your buck.

My brother has a mk1 cupra R its a beast 0to60 is 5 seconds its 17 years old and still pulls on most cars on the road
is it stage 2? stock i think they're about 7 secs to 60, but yeah loved my mk1 cupra and would have another any day
To be honest we are not sure what has been done to it my oldest brother bought it 9 years ago then sold it to my middle brother we are not sure but it gets underestimate by everyone and then you should see there face when a old seat smokes them

Gotta be more fun modified? Or do you mean liveable day to day? I modified a car too far with stripped interior, buckets and coilovers, became a literal pain in ass. But was definitely more fun than standard.

I was wondering about those turbo inlet pipes. They all claim to be bigger in diameter and allow more airflows, but the thing is they all come done to the same size right at the point where they hook onto the turbo. Meaning the air is forced to the smaller diameter once again. I doenst matter if it is forced right before the turbo or a longer time before that, diameter is diameter the turbo sucks the air in at a certain speed/power and is only capable to do more when the bar pressure is set higher. I believe these intake pipes are in essence a lot of bull. Or am I wrong?
Aup mate, got a 14 cupra with revo map stage 1 , 3’’ cobra cat back exhaust fromdeamon tweaks , revo lower torque mount , Revo transmission mount 334 bhp and 456nm. Bought it as it is, 30000 miles. (Semi auto with the paddle shafts) LOVE these cars mate and mine has some power can’t imagine what yours is gonna feel like! Loving the flames bro would love to compare sometime. Yours is sounding fireeee now 🔥

Seat cupras are just the best looking hot hatch I think it will be a classic in years it has that timeless look about it. The golf n rs3 look the part but just basic they don't look flamboyant eye catching like the Focus Rs but the seat won't break like the Ford. Best of all worlds 🤭
