I have a shit memory so before my mocks I would cram everything in one day and I still got a A*. History isn't that hard when you know the information because the essays becomes easier to write. So just learn the key details like catholic plots and stuff and dont stress.

There was. Cholera isn’t only from the broad street water pump. Cholera is a disease that comes from contaminated water, it has always been in history, it’s just that it was common during John snow’s life.
I understand the structure of how I need to write my answers but have a huge problem with content. I barely remember anything and have my mocks soon. anybody got advice?
It's really a matter of what works for you! For me, mnemonics works, and then for others it's colourful mind-maps and flashcards. Have you tried different things? One thing's for sure: simply reading notes won't help; you need to be practical with them. You could even get someone testing you instead. Revision can be quite a lonely place, so having someone with you could help!
@@Biggleton1 I can’t actually remember to be hiensst … I recommend you learn all the battles and know the fine details about SML (eg she had 41 servants ) because it’s small things like that that show your understanding better and you end up remembering them as well

I am sorry to say that history is not just learning dates ,etc. My son did his GCSEs history last year in a one year course and got a 6. His dad is s history teacher and he would disagree with what you're doing on this channel in regards to his subject. A science teacher cannot teach a humanity subject as the objective is very different. Learning dates and facts in it self isn't enough to pass the exam . It's applying those facts in the correct manner and good essay writing.
Hi Edna. I'm one of the people who works with Primrose Kitten on humanities subjects and the associated videos. I entirely agree that History, especially at GCSE, is not about rote learning dates and names. However as is stated by PK at the very start of the video, this is not at intented to be a completely exclusive guide. We produce more detailed videos, together with essay writing tips and guides as well as exam technique, in our workbooks and other material. This is intended to be a catch up and fact revision video. I'm sorry to hear you don't find it helpful - I would suggest keeping an eye out for the more in depth single topic videos that will accompany this and are currently in production. 😊
