love the mountain regions of Skyrim remember when I first started to play videogames and Skyrim was one of the first, I searched for reviews, one guy said how he going for hours trying to reach the most difficult areas was his favourite part and relaxed him very much during a depressive moment of his life. when I started the game I finally understood what he meant. beautiful views and great achievements. it's incredible how a game can help people!
Kel-Nar is a nice little hamlet with lovely visual appeal. The decor is simple and elegant. Having additional vendors is a plus. I must agree that not having a player home will cause me to pass on this at present. This would make a nice spot to start a quest mod, maybe earn the player home. Thanks for another lovely showing dear Feb
@@FebrithDarkstar LOL XD As a father and grandfather IRL I have a fairly high tolerance for kids, at least my own kids... Yet, I must agree with you here. Maybe the mod just needs a school to keep them out from under foot. IDK. But yes, too many kids there :)
@@FebrithDarkstar Was Helgen Reborn on my recommendation or had you already found it? I know I mentioned it to you a little while ago. But, that doesn't mean you hadn't already found it. Helgen Reborn has been out for a few years now. I love that mod too. I run those quests at some point in every play.
Yeah, I remember an early game I played with Keld-Nar; it was the first time I learned to sprint in my haste to escape the hordes of stunted demons. Some mods should come with warnings.
Some of these mods, I imagine myself coming home after an extended period Dragonborning, out of most potions and sick with Ataxia, Bonebreak Fever, etc etc. Then I look up that massive staircase to my home and all I can think of is saying, "Oh, heck with it" and throwing out a sleeping bag right there. Doesn't anybody live on the ground floor?
14:23 *FEB YOU GAVE ME AN IDEA.* I'm gonna make a town mod that's similar to Little Lamplight from Fallout 3, and it will be a makeshift settlement ran by runaway kids. I'm new to modding, so it will take a while.
I you have not already, then there is a cool mod called "Corners of Skyrim" that places small houses with followers (optional), across Skyrim. All are tiny cute places, all player homes, nothing fancy, just a place to stay kind of locations
I like the look of the not just installed stone in the castle but far to many stairs for me. Takes a full day to check the mail... and who stokes the fires and fetches water? Mod two..." Christmas Land". .. You must have shown up while Charlie Banks was away. Did you check teeth on any of those monsters?
Throne of the Jeralls has lovely views and a fabulous exterior yet feels unfinished inside. No cupboards in the kitchen, bland vanilla beds and lack of wall decor all add up to boring. The home has some decent features. It just looks unfinished. Needs a woman's touches and a few shields and weapons hanging in the throne room, IMHO.
Omg... telling the small humans to shut up... hilarious!!!!!!😂😂😂. I usually wait til the brats are sleep and go illegal shopping. Kicking me out of your home will cost you!
Good video as always Feb! I wanted to like the Throne of the Jeralls I really did. I always get my hopes up when I see Windhelm assets used as it's my favorite architecture next to Riften. Just like with Gnar's Bulwark, another Windhlem "palace" type home though "something" was missing. Sure I could place furniture like an oven with the solitude furniture mod or spawn in some greenery but from a design standpoint why put the master bedroom so far upstairs rather than make it another room off the main one? Why put the sauna on top of the bedroom? It's still a good player home don't get me wrong just not for me.
I know you don’t like the kids but did you notice the dark elf child. I’ve never seen one in elder scrolls. I agree the first house had a lot of empty space. Thanks for the video
Although I'd like to see a bit more oomph in decoration for a mod myself, I must say, I really do actually like the layout inside of the Throne of the Jeralls. It feels much more properly medieval than most. Something about it has a realistic touch, maybe the small windows and the way the sitting room is through the kitchen. People were much less fussed about layout back in those days just so long as you could get the privilege of being invited up to the sitting room (or even the private bedchambers) was much more important. It meant you were someone special, and the kitchen staff are just about nobodies, so who cares if you're parading through their work space? Certainly not the important people doing the parading, that's for sure. We didn't get the notion of hide the servants until much later, in the Victorian era. Although, I'd much rather see some rolled up bed rolls or something to at least imply the servants slept in the great hall as would be more customary, and have a gate house with guards where the servants quarter is. I'd also rather it were higher up on the mountain so I could pretend it was a proper defensive point, but I can't have it all, and it seems cutting into a mountain half way up is how they do it in Skyrim, so I'll pretend that's for lore reasons.
Hi Feb! Since you look for nice player homes... and I can´t find this one in your playlist... I recommend to you the "Guardians' Overlook" from plymster. Small on the outside with a great cellar - and a fantastic view. www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/97174 A shame that he only makes his mods for Oldrim - but I could port this one without problems to SE and it runs without problems. All features are working.
Hey Feb, I have to agree with you, it is a bit plain. I sure would have liked to see more art and not so much open wasted space. I would agree with the comment by phatbassanchor it looks very unfinished. I am thinking this may have been the mod author's first attempt at a large castle, which would be why things look so unfinished.
I always have Keld-Nar in my load order, I love new town mods and it’s in such a neat location. Plus I dig the lore tie-in with Oblivion.

Lol @ "hide the servants" - but I totally get all you're saying so eloquently:)
There were also cliffracers in Morrowind. I hated those creatures.
Keld-Nar isn't a place for me with all the kids. Those I hate, too. XD
By the way, "Keld" is a boy's name in Danish, and "nar" means "fool." What a name! XD
