I am 50, my wife is almost 50 as well... we just discovered The Beaches this year. We have listened to their entire back catalog as well as the new album. I haven't see live music in almost 15 years but we are going to go see them in 2024 in Minnesota!
@@heathergallant2469 Great band that, like Ghost, is keeping classic rock alive. Pity they don't get the attention bands much less interesting (at least to me) do.
Almost 50 yrs old here and LOVE this whole record! Never heard of them before this but bought in pre-sale n constantly playing the album. Discovered on tiktok and can’t wait for the show in WINNNIPEG 🎉
Blame Brett is a wonderfully well written song that sheds a little new light on the breakup formula, that is so used by so many other songwriters. Not easy to give a new take on a well-worn subject.
I know that Tom and the girls are young. But one of the greatest albums ever written and produced, Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, was powered by the breakups that were taking place within the band in 1976. Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham split, as did John and Christine McVie. Nearly every song at that album was addressed to a member of the band. Stevie wrote about Lindsay. Lindsay wrote about Stevie. Christine did the same with John. That album was raw with hurt. And, if you watch the early 1977 live performances, you can see Stevie looking right in Lindsay's direction as she sings Dreams, with real and raw emotion. Blame Brett has that same, similar emotion.
Canadian music is the best music. Way to go Beaches. May you join the music hall of fame some day. They write and play with your hearts. I hope they never lose that passion.
I am hooked and WILL be a fan for life!!! ❤ I saw The Beaches at The Warfield in San Francisco on 6/02/2024 and they were on fire. Much love to these ladies and I wish them ALL THE SUCCESS in the world ❤.
Found you on my instagram reels lol- the video of you all wearing wigs and singing "Blame Brett" Just like Kylie said, Ive been diving back into the older discography and I'm so into it 💕 I love The Beaches!!!
I'm in love with Jordan and I've never met her, so you really can't blame the guy who said he loved her after 3 dates. But them listening to the The Cure a lot partly explains my Beaches obsession--I had just seen The Cure (amazing) a few days before I first heard, and was blown away by, The Beaches.
Wow, you all flow so well! Listening to your music takes me back to my college days; cure, rem, b52, smiths, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. You girls rock!! Keep doing what you love, and stay you (p.s. My kids always sing the chorus to Edge of the Earth, they absolutely love it!). Be easy
The Beaches are opening for Greta at our state fair this year. I had never heard of them, so I took a deep dive and I'm obsessed! Our entire family adores them now. We're in our 50's, kiddos are in their 20's. I can't wait to see them live.
The Beaches are my favorite new band. The lyrical content is fantastic and very identifiable for me personally.(Though I am old enough to be these lady's mother). I feel like their music invokes the Go-Go's and Verucas Salt. I'm hoping that they make it to Wisconsin soon to see them play.
Have you all really been just leading this guy along for 10 years and you’ve hidden all this and you haven’t told him anything? Seem like the kind of girls that tell guy they love them and only weeks later. Be packing your bags to move away.

I'm 55 and just discovered them in time to see them live. You will have a blast! The crowd was all ages and bopping!

51 here and I just get such Blondie and punk vibes from them - love it!
Hi 👋. I'm 68 years, and am going to see them THIS Saturday, here in Portland Oregon! 🎵🎸. Cheers
I'm 55 and kids that grew up in the 80's seem young at heart, and I also love their music starting with Blame Brett.
These 4 young Canadians have some serious musical talent. See them live if you can! I have and am seeing them again shortly!
"I'm not ready for therapy, to take accountability" says all the meaning of this song. This is an amazing song and I love it
For people not ready to settle down.
AGREED
My fave song

Same
Yeah blame Brett, I wonder if the mean Brett Hart?
Honesty, this is how to conduct an interview! Great insight, just come across the band, so impressed by the music and their character...

Music hall of fame sounds like the most Canadian thing ever.
12:05 Total sibling moment! Great record, great band. Saw them live in Moncton, they are the real deal
Im a DJ and I been dropping Beaches into many of my sets. They are pure vibe.
I am hooked and WILL be a fan for life!!! ❤ I saw The Beaches at The Warfield in San Francisco on 6/02/2024 and they were on fire. Much love to these ladies and I wish them ALL THE SUCCESS in the world ❤.

Tom, you always have great interviews. Much appreciated. Thanks for interviewing this band.
What a great interview. Three clearly really intelligent people connecting and being vulnerable together.
This is a great interview. Great questions, no talking over the interviewees. Love it.
Prince: "When I left Warner Brothers, I sold half as many albums and made twice as much money."
Kyli called me out for finding them on tiktok and then going all the way through the discography 😅💯
Same 😂

Fantastic interview and band. Thank you.
Tom Power is a great interviewer.
More The Beaches interviews from here on out please
I'm a sixty year old guy and I love this record. Concert is very soon.
I found you through a friend who found you on Tik Tok, and I'm a new, BIG fan!! ❤
At 53, I never thought I would be searching for more information about an all-girl band.
Love them.

First time I heard blame Brett I was I my car saying take some damn accountability then I listened again and I heard the the whole song for what it is
I LOVE THEM
Love them!!
Funny thing Rush also said that when they Made 2112 they had nothing to lose and made 2112 as music they would listen to ….and history was made
I want to share a moment for deep divers, and those attitudes of patience, altruistic~disdain~bish. A+
Also, deep divers need monster~kicker~
Tesla Fact Maker
This song came out during the worst time in my 10 year marriage. My name is Brett.
VIVA CANADA BANDS
EVERYONE that were in relationships feel your pain.
Who would drop The Beaches ?!
And next week: SOLD OUT Shows: In Europe :)
What about "Max" though? It sounds already like a short version of "my ex" :D
Feels strange seeing rock bands of this genre these days not completely writing their own material
Great song!
Alex would have worked though 😂
Who plays the bass since I don’t see anyone in the band playing it even live.
The singer does. But lately they've often been using a track when playing live, so the singer has more freedom to be a frontwoman.
Hehehe, Kylie has a lithp. I love it cuz she play a rocking guitar
As a dude I just say blame Britt' in my head.
So much Cure influence, Breeders and Go Go's
Catchy song. I just don’t understand how celebrating a toxic mentality is empowering.
I blame Tom for everything
Blame Blair
Double alliteration, actually.
Blame brian!
Have you all really been just leading this guy along for 10 years and you’ve hidden all this and you haven’t told him anything? Seem like the kind of girls that tell guy they love them and only weeks later. Be packing your bags to move away.
Umm eurotrip….
they're both really cute but they don't look like sisters am i alone here?
They have the same noses.
Kind of lol
It’s cause Kylie is naturally brown I think but she dyes her hair blonde.
wow they are both very cute id love to date 1 of them
