Someone commented on a forum that this model is a mini stick. I just Googled literally an hour after posting the video, found it online and found a thread on RC groups 20 years ago which described exactly the problems I had with it! And one suggestion there was the one which I came up with!
Yes, I think I may have mentioned that when I showed my Lidl mini builds in the video which have servo on top. Or I may have edited it out as the video was already 25 mins long!
Now you have struggled with a kit that looks to have left alot to be desired and would have put lesser men off why not try a kit that is easy to build. Have a look at an Angelwing designs kit, they are a joy to build and if you have any concerns the guy that designs them is on hand to answer any questions. Oh and they are reasonably priced too 👍😁 Keep up the hard work Bob, enjoying the balsa build for a change
Thanks, it was disappointing. I've heard of Angelwings, I follow a guy in N Devon on TH-cam who often reviews them. I might check them out. I must say it was nice to be working with wood instead of carving up foam with a hot wire!
Im guessing you like small, lightweight models and the best quality small lightweight midels have to be microaces models, they are superb quality, gun to buold and great flyers
I've seen them, yes great kits. I'll check them out. And yes, re small models, I'm running out of space at home for bigger models! That's partly why I bought a small one. The balsa kit itself is good value, but trying to get CG right isn't easy!
Re small prop savers, Bob. " Aliexpress FOCPOT RC MODEL Store Brushless Motor Prop Saver 3D RC Plane Aircraft Propeller Protector Installation for 3D RC Plane Drone 1104 1106 2208 2212 2826" throws up the smaller sizes. "Haoye RC Store" also for grab bags.
Thanks cobber. Already ordered and on the way from Ali Express! 😉. In fact after I ordered I found I'd already got a 2mm dia one on another model anyway.
@@bobflyman 😁 Join the Club, young fellah!!! 😜 The only way I ever find stuff that I need from amongst the junk in the shed is when I'm looking for something completely different! 😱🙄
@@bobflyman Now, Now, You're only as old as you feel! (That's me done for!) 😭 Off topic but I've got to go for my yearly driving licence Short Arm Inspection again in a few days. (Starts at 75 here.) What are the regs there in the UK?
@theoztreecrasher2647 I had to check that, no age limit. There was somebody mentioned the other day that had just stopped at over 90 😳. Good luck with your test mate!

Seems as though it was a bit of a trial , but you must have learnt a lot. 👍
I certainly did!
Another option would be to install the aileron servo sticking out the top of the wing, not as pretty but functional 👍

Loads of plans for these are online and it could do with a redesign? Why don't you do it and make some on your laser cutting machine!
@@bobflymanToo busy enjoying myself Bob 🤔

Guess you are referring to Nick Chitty (in Ilfracombe I think) as the guy in Devon 👍
Looking forward to the next vid , loving the balsa bashing Bob
@kodibox2501 yup, that's the one!
min 9 on the video: Bob you really like the suffering
Yea, not much!
