- Starting your own Formula 1 team does sound like it would be quite fun, but it's quite the opposite. You need serious dollar in the bank, hundreds of employees and much much more. So for those interested in giving it a go, I'm going to break down step by step how you can start your own Formula 1 team, and believe me you might feel differently at the end...

Looking at this video, now im impressed that Haas and Williams are still on the grid, struggling but you get the picture.....
It's also why the fia and liberty media try to help struggling teams out by finding them new sponsors are even a new owner.

It's an edge they had over teams like HRT, Manor, and Caterham, which were all started from scratch.

This whole "owning sports teams" thing sounds really cool. It's unfortunate that access to it is restricted to people who happen to be insanely wealthy, because I'd love to try my hand at it.

When I was young I used to think drivers were the only important careers in Formula1, but later I learned that there's a whole bunch of super successful people who work in F1 they just might not be as famous as the drivers.
Absolutely, Formula 1 employs around 50,000 people!

The new concorde agreement makes it all but impossible for anyone baring manufacturers to enter F1. As when you look at Team lotus (collin Chapman's),March, Simtek, Jordan, Manor, Campos/HRT and EuroBrun to list a few former teams who all started out in lower categories such as F3, F3000, F2, sports cars , endurance racing and or suppliers/contractors to existing F1 team/projects. Where are the new teams going to come from?
Or heaven forbid replace one that pulls out or fails

to battle in the midfield. they had a solid plan but the rich energy drama and ferrari engine issues messed them up.

They did have a very strong season though, but things have really unravelled since.
I think Mazepin is gonna be their biggest problem in the next years. Even if they manage to get a good car, they have an unfirable driver that doesn’t seem to be close to the level of his competitors.
Add to that that the kid is the biggest pr disaster in f1 history, and your prospects are really limited.
Realistically, you nwed about half a billion dollars to start and do two full seasons.

Given the gargantuan cost and task of starting a Formula 1 Team it's no wonder the Privateers end up in bankruptcy as the odds are against you from the very onset. I guess those privateers crazy enough to do it , do it out of love for the "Sport" and the Glamour and certainly not to make money because more likely than not : you will lose money and lots of it. The manufacturers do it for the publicity cum advertising value though the qualitative benefits as such are arguable. That said: Formula 1 is really not worth doing unless you're a "crazed billionaire" at the very least.

@@TheRacingPilot Hi, teams are not paing the shipping of cars, part, motorhomes and etc. So, This cost is not part of budget. Only the fly tickets and the accomodation of the personal. ✌️
