36 Different Types Of Danio Fish - The Best Rare & Common Aquarium Danios

- 36 different types of Danios & Devario aquarium fish, rare & common. These are great little fish that are very hardy, can be kept at lower temperatures and would probably be good candidates for summer tubbing videos.
We did consider leaving out Glofish but decided to go with a few of them. However, the vast majority are non-Glofish Danios and Devarios we haven't seen mentioned in other videos that list all Danios species supposedly.
We also didn't cover Danio variants such as the longfin, albino or gold versions of the fish as they are mostly Zebra Danio Rerio variants. You can view most of these danios' complete profiles on our website here aquadiction.world/danios/

Oh I REALLY like that Emerald Dwarf Danio!! I want some in my tank!
Emerald Dwarf Danios are actually really underrated, in our experience more hardy than CPDS esp if you have harder water, you can cross them with CPDS, there is a hybrid of the two in that video in fact though personally I think both pure strains as nicer! Thanks. That was a cool list. Question - have you heard of the Danio sp. Lagalla? It is on the CARES preservation list, but I can’t find any info on it.
Thanks for the comment dude, no sadly never heard of that one but if we can ever find decent images of more danios we will redo a video! We did a video on 85 tetras but have 100 now so when we get to say 120 we will probably do a more complete list! Thanks for the heads up on this species we will def keep an eye out 👍👍

My favourites are celestial pearl Danio and the glow light Danio and red fin danio
Have to agree with your faves Mark, same as ours! Believe it or not there are around another 50 + types we couldn't cover because they are so rare, hopefully one day when we can get access to them :)

I"m new to gloFish and HOW are there Pink and Yellow Glow Danios?! Those two colors aren't on the GloFishwebsite. How did we get these two colors, Pink and Yellow. Did GloFish make colors that aren't released in the USA? Or how were they selectively bred to make those colors from the existing 5 on the website?
Thinking of getting giant danios for my 125.. how do you think they will do in a well planted tank with Aurulius Barbs?
I would expect them to go well together tbh, (I’ve never tried it though) but all danios are so super fast even if a problem would arise their speed negates any problems!
I wish most of these danios are available in my place. Most of the danios here are zebra, celestial pearl, and giant.
Have you tried online? Not sure where you are located but we have much more luck finding rare species online than in LFS. Hope that helps?!

I have found this one random danio mixed in with my Giant danios at my job and I am not sure what it is. It looks similar to the colors of the Rose Danio but has similar body size and shape to the Giant Danios
Interesting, could it be a large female laden with eggs?
@Aquadiction not quite sure. It doesn't have the deep belly like a giant danio. At least not yet. It's mouth is definitely like a giant danio but it lacks all pattern on its body and has turquoise colored scales on its sides
