I love Elbow. They’re so good, so creative. Lovely creative lyrics, and they’re not all done-up. They’re just normal people who let the music speak for itself.
Seems to be written for my grand-daughter who lost her mother at age 2 1/2, being raised by my son as a single dad. I know it wasn't, but it strikes me so. To light her mother's cigarette. Her mother smoked, too. A world that doesn't even know how much it needs this little girl... We all need her. And she will make it be Magnificent!
This song helped me through a really dark period of my life. Now, revisiting it a couple years later whilst I am in a much better place, it still hits me really hard. Very thankful to have stumbled across this wonderful band.
Damnation...I can't listen to this song without totally *losing* it. Utterly and completely BRILLIANT...the guitar, the bass line, the drums, strings..and those lyrics...absolute PERFECTION. Why this can't be played on mainstream radio is mystifying. I keep listening to it over and over and all it does is make me want to queue it up again and again. Bravo gentlemen...BRAVO.
Just listen to these words - from the heart! You have to have a daughter and a granddaughter to just know what he means! brings tears to my eyes every time I hear this
First saw Elbow on CBSN...I love Elbow... this man looks so kind and nice. Of course, him and his band are all extremely talented folks who make amazing music.
he opened for coldplay in the south back in 2005. The steward let me record him, he said, he is like Elvis. Nothing better from a white southerm man, he was reached by Guy. I went home singing his songs.
Incroyable, quel talent! Le clip est aussi beau que ce morceau, que ces paroles! Cela devrait être ce qui marche le plus auprès du grand public et pourtant...
I am in your heart Your heart is in my dreams My dreams fly in the wind The wind to make you fly Across the time Across the sky To my heart I close my eyes and cry
@@TreavorUnion yeah, its won awards. I love Tower Crane driver and Some Riot. I have a part of the Stops tattooed on my leg. They're amazing. Definitely watch the Seldom Seen Kids videos with the BBC orchestra.
Why can't this kind of music be on radios rather than this popular shit. This is miles better. Suppose music is judged more about the appearance of the group than their actual music nowadays... And it's sad
I know what you're saying, but I like it this way. They are successful and having a great career. They're not 22 year old model kids. It makes them more authentic and precious. Those bands on the radio are controlled by record labels.
Magnificent Elbow Lyrics This is where This is where the bottle lands Where all the biggest questions meet With little feet stood in the sand And this is where The echoes swell to nothing on the tide And where a tiny pair of hands Finds a sea-worn piece of glass And sets it as a sapphire in her mind And there she stands Throwing both her arms around the world The world that doesn't even know How much it needs this little girl It's all gonna be magnificent, she says It's all gonna be magnificent This is where it all began To light your mother's cigarette And to go to touch her hand And my heart There defrosting in a gaze Wasn't built to be that way Suddenly I understand There on the sand Throwing both her arms around the world The world that doesn't even know How much it needs this little girl It's all gonna be magnificent, she says It's all gonna be magnificent She says It's all gonna be magnificent She says, it's all gonna be magnificent The echoes slow The bottle lands The echoes slow And there she stands

Sigfrido Maina His name is Alex Reeves. He is a session drummer, who has worked with many artists. He also played on Guy Garvey's solo album. Great drummer.
Some Music express feelings that can not be say by words. This is one.
I love Elbow. They’re so good, so creative. Lovely creative lyrics, and they’re not all done-up. They’re just normal people who let the music speak for itself.
Guy Garvey is for me the epitome of talent. This man isn't phoning it in.

gjh No I don’t, it looks like a really small intimate gig. I’d loved to of been there.
@@doobyschoo I mean what country? The venue is awesome. They're not singing along like Americans do. Looks German.
gjh yeah your right, it does look like it may be in Germany. A bit reserved aren’t they!
I just discovered this band. I love this song and this is a really strong performance.
One Day Like This is another great tune

canoemandan listen to bbc radio 6 guy garvey (lead singer) has a radio show on sundays. Defo the best station if your into this type of music.
I wish i knew of all the radio stations they play at like this. What do you think of the new driver. Not subtle enough for me. Great guy though

Elbow
Lyrics
This is where
This is where the bottle lands
Where all the biggest questions meet
With little feet stood in the sand
And this is where
The echoes swell to nothing on the tide
And where a tiny pair of hands
Finds a sea-worn piece of glass
And sets it as a sapphire in her mind
And there she stands
Throwing both her arms around the world
The world that doesn't even know
How much it needs this little girl
It's all gonna be magnificent, she says
It's all gonna be magnificent
This is where it all began
To light your mother's cigarette
And to go to touch her hand
And my heart
There defrosting in a gaze
Wasn't built to be that way
Suddenly I understand
There on the sand
Throwing both her arms around the world
The world that doesn't even know
How much it needs this little girl
It's all gonna be magnificent, she says
It's all gonna be magnificent
She says
It's all gonna be magnificent
She says, it's all gonna be magnificent
The echoes slow
The bottle lands
The echoes slow
And there she stands
I was there. Great show from a great band
how thrilling to see them in such a small venue
Magnificent. Can't wait to see them in DC this November.

Dead right. I never knew Mancunian could sound so melodic.
