This gives me hope. My dad's daily when he was younger was a 1980 k20 and has been sitting in our backyard for 13+ years. I've decided, being the 17 I am, to take the responsibility and use this as a project truck. (P.S. I've never seriously worked on a vehicle.)

Awesome man! take you time on it and don't get frustrated. There's a ton of resources out there and you can find good affordable parts. The best advice I got is this. It's your truck. Do what you want. Don't pay attention to all these guys that are like "Oh no you gotta do this this and this to make it sweet" etc. If you want it to run and drive, work on that. If you want it to be a show truck that you're taking to competitions, that's cool too. It's whatever you want. I just want a beater I can drive to and from work and have a little fun with!

@Jason Dannelly out of curiosity, do you remember how much it cost to restore?

@@brantanderson6121 Rough numbers. . .I spent about $1000 on the wiring harness, $1000 on the Dakota Digital set up. Replaced the starter ($75), water pump(like $55?), thermostat (Minimal), fuel pump ($65) and got a new heater core. I can't remember what I paid for the core but it was minimal. New gas tank was like $125. Honestly, I got a lot of stuff from LMCTruck or at least looked at their site to figure out what I needed before going to a local parts store.

@Jason Dannelly Thanks man, it helps to know the round about cost. Just so I can get an idea of what's what.

Can't show myself doing work cause I don't know what I'm doing. Plus I hardly work.
