    Matt, after you crossed out the logos on the Rawlings, you should have just drawn the Nike swish on it.

    I really like Nike basketballs. It’s the only type I’ll play with. The rubber cover outdoor one. Cause I play outside.

    I used Rawlings and W A2000 for infield. Its a feel thing IMO.

    I used a Wilson A221, "Chris Sabo" model. I still have it too! Although the thought of throwing a baseball now at 44 makes my shoulder fall off.

    I found a new glove at a thrift store was a Rawlings Heart Of Hide pro series. I couldn't find the exact model online but sold it online for $250 in 5 minutes. I think it was worth a good bit more.

    I feel ya. I used a Rawlings glove when I played, and I wouldn't use anything else if I didn't have to.

    I've got a Hutch first basemen mitt from the 1970s (My dad gave it to me when I was 10) and a Spalding 13" glove my mom gave me in the late 80s. My daughter (she's a pitcher) told me she wants to inherit them.
    The Spalding is so good, that I bought a second one for me and two for her. We both love them. Like father, like daughter, I guess.
    Do Spalding and Hutch even exist anymore?

    I used the same glove from 12 years old all the way through high school and college and still have it. It's got zip ties and duct tape keeping it together. No other glove has the same feel.

    For a short period about 10 years ago Nike was making a series of gloves in Japan called SHA|DO Elite J, MVP, Vapor. One series was available here in the states for like 5 mins lol.They were made by the Atoms company in Japan. They are awesome. I still have several. Sold one to a MLB player through ebay, oddly enough. Atoms stopped making the Nike gloves for the masses. They make their own label now. But all the NIke stuff you see any MLB players wearing, especially the pitchers, comes from Atoms.

    • @rumblehat4357
      @rumblehat4357 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I spent $250 on a Heart of the Hide for my daughter. She doesn't like it. She uses a late 80s Spalding which I bought as new old stock. A thirty something year old new glove. Still had the tag on it. Real, all leather. And a lot less money.

    That first glove looks like mine. Bought it but couldn't find anyone to play catch with. Took it to Spring training, as if I could catch any foul balls. People made fun of me, said my glove looked like it had never been used. Didn't have any gloves when we were kids playing ball in the street.

    I was a Rawlings Pro200 guy until I discovered a Wilson A2000 DP15 11.5”. It’s a more I use in my mens league at a young 47 years old.
    Would like to see your input on how a glove should be broken in/formed!

    • @rumblehat4357
      @rumblehat4357 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It breaks me when I see these kids pull a pancaked glove out of their bag. I always try to explain to them they need to keep a ball in it at all times when it's put away. If they have more than one glove, I tell them to put one inside the other and a ball in the top one. I've got a 35 year old Spalding with a perfect pocket because of proper storage. It's so Important. Squashed gloves make me cringe.

    Only 2 gloves from Rawlings? You have almost no collection of gloves for a former professional player. When Xavier Nady came to our baseball boo camp in year 2005 and he was a San Diego padres player. He told us Rawlings would give him so many gloves he had like 15 Rawlings gloves just sitting around at his place. And one time I asked a relief pitchers from the Pittsburgh pirates a questions about his glove contract with Wilson. He mentioned Wilson would give him 2 gloves per season and a 3rd glove only if he needed a custom for in case he needed it. Otherwise he got 2 gloves per season. Mind you this was a relief pitcher for the pirates and was a AAA to big leagues call ups non established pitcher. I'm shocked you have so little gloves just sitting around.
