    This should be more than fine for most modern Half-Tons even moderately equipped. 7k GVWR and 27' is usually my comfort limit for most half-tons.

      I have an F-150 rated at 9100 lbs towing and 1690 lbs in the vehicle. It has the Max Tow Package as well. Looking at travel trailers I've been looking to stay around 7000 GVWR as you are suggesting. Assuming 10% hitch weight that leaves me just under 1000 lbs in the truck. Based on that this looks very towable for my setup. Maybe I'm missing something?

    I really do like this model. It truly does look like a great couple’s unit with that solid door for separation and privacy.

    I am really impressed with the amount of storage for the size. Perfect size for me and my wife.

    i love it, i would lose the outdoor kitchen for a oven inside. i would raise the sink in the bathroom to fit a combo washer and dryer. i would add couple rollable shelves, replace the bedroom mattress for my California queen bamboo mattress and use the mattress for the living room for my kids or guests. i have couple electric power stations i would add to the solar setup. i love the price, it's more reasonable than most RVs during this time and prices isn't grab your ankles. it's perfect and i would full time in it.

    90 seconds in and what makes me like it is the double axles, and where they’re placed. That’s going to be one stable trailer! The convenient door placement putting so little intrusion on the interior living space, and the decent though out exterior placements. Yeah. This is nice. I only wish that the past 2 years hadn’t inflated the buy-in to way past what I was comfortable to buy. The only thing I never liked about R-Pods are the shin-knocker leveling jacks.

    Nice layout for a 7K 27' lg camper. A lot of good things. Yes better wheels. Yes most 1/2T trucks can tow this it is on the upper end. I had a 7.2K GVWR 28' long I put over 10K miles on it. One trip to FL in 2020 and back close to 3K miles on that trip. I did that with a 1996 F150 with a 4.6 L Triton V8 with no problems. You just got to know what you are doing and keep up with the maintenance on the vehicle and camper

    Great layout for a couple! I like the mid-trailer walk through bathroom. You can close off the bedroom if needed. Stay safe

    Very nice floor plan. I prefer a dinette but do like that the sofa has foot rests.

    • @controllerone

      Comes standard with a dinette. Couch is a extra cost option.

  • @criznitty
    @criznitty 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It would be cool to see an option to have a fold up/down bunk over the couch like we see in some of the mid bunk fifth wheels, just to grab some of the families with young kids entering the travel trailer market.

    This model would be perfect for me but I don’t have enough pickup to pull it around right now. I have to agree with you on the tires and would upgrade them as soon as I could.

  • @AlveysAngle

    Nice floor plan. Would kinda rather see the bathroom towards the back of the unit. Not a fan of the tires or the exposed disconnect, on account of it being too easy for kids to mess with or someone shutting it off.

  • @davidleaghty2943
    @davidleaghty2943 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I always like this comment. Like you said. A heavy half might do it. But I would need a 3/4 ton because of a 505 pound motorcycle. But then again I think a 1 t duelly looks cooler.

    Empty, I can tow it around with my 2015 Explorer for things like initial purchase or taking it in for service. Otherwise, I'll be towing it with my 2013 Expedition EL. My wife and I were looking at one of the RP18? models until our Edge got totalled. With the addition of the Expedition, we've settled on the 202. My wife loves the floor plan and that's the only thing that matters...

    The step up at the sofa would drive me crazy. I think getting the smallest of a mid-size line would be a better option for me than the largest of a small series. It's clear many of the small rv characteristics are carried into this model. Though for an azdel rv it's priced well.

  • @stevemeades

    I towed this last year with my 2019 Tahoe(8600 lbs rated), a little sketchy! Traded in for 2015 Ram 2500, perfect.

    Thanks for video on this R-Pod. The battery shut off switch should be inside one of the storage compartments and not in direct path of road crime and debris kicking up from rear tires. Not sure if I like the all black entrance door. I would go more into depth as to what you mean by More Robust, Better Significant and Better Reputation Overall regarding thos tires. What you mean to say is these are China Bomb tires and are likely to explode, damage your wheel wells and siding and ruin your family's camping trip. RV manufactures MUST STOP placing these tires on RVs. Too many horror stories on the web!!!

  • @Treeplanter73

    That couch should be standard in every camper. A couch with no place to put your feet sucks.

  • @pawsnazzy01
    @pawsnazzy01 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think by moving the axles back you eliminate the chances of loading to much weight on the rear of the trailer, and we have all seen what happens. I would rather have it a bit heavy on the back of my truck because you can order from ETRAILER the Timbren rear axle system.

    Interesting trailer and floor plan! I think towing this with a half ton is pushing the limits of what is comfortable. I agree that a 3/4 ton would be better, and more confidence inspiring.

    Is 30 gallon fresh water adequate? I went dry camping for 5 days recently with a class C and 40 gallon fresh water and had to cut way back on consumption to make it last. I assume the owner would dry camp a lot with this one vs. full hookups.

    I’m sooooo interested to hear your thoughts on the new Ford Lightning with the max tow package. I have one reserved and would like to know what you feel is a length limit when towing with the Lightning. I understand the range reduction thing because I tow a Rove Lite with my Tesla Model Y right now, and I suffer range loss. But I’d imagine the Lightning won’t be as bad towing my current 2,200 pound travel trailer.

    I was considering the R pod but now leaning on the Lance 1985, will tow with 1/2 ton any thoughts? My F150 has max tow package and payload of 1479. My initial thoughts the lance is better build trailer.

    • @thestooges333
      @thestooges333 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reviews I read they’re garbage

    • @RVingwithCory
      @RVingwithCory 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the reviews from owners on the forums come from a handful of bad apple dealers who don’t actually check the trailers out before they sell them. These things are built by humans and yes nothing built by humans is going to be 100% perfect all the time but we just don’t see that and we’ve been selling r-pods since 2010.
