Also, countless studies show that p*dophilia cannot be cured or fixed. The only thing they can do is choose to not act on their urges, and those people will never make that choice.
An unfortunate consequence of the laws saying where offenders can live is that a lot of them end up homeless, which makes it impossible to keep track of them. We just had the most precious 5-year-old baby girl BRUTALLY assaulted and murdered because she and this monster were both living in the same homeless camp two blocks away from the elementary school I work at. It’s a big thing here because SO MUCH went wrong prior to the murder. I don’t think these predators should be allowed to have their own homes. I think they should have to live in highly supervised group homes and have some sort of intelligent gps monitors that make loud alarms if they get near schools, playgrounds, etc. So basically I’m saying they should just stay in jail.

@hadikoshyou say we have no problem with women pedos getting lighter sentences which isn’t even true, but in your second comment it seems like you think 12 years is justice for raping and almost killing an 8 year old girl? 99% of sexually motivated crimes are committed by men. 99% of rapists are men, 99% of pedophiles are men, and without acknowledging that we can’t tackle the problem accurately. Also stop creating conflicts in your head, no one is backing female pedos. You just want something to be mad about, more so you just want a reason to be able to insert yourself into the conversation of womens issues because you can’t stand womens issues being brought up without any attention being on you. Why is there always a man trying to insert mens issues into the conversation of womens issues? But they never bring it up unless they’re trying to silence women… which begs the question, do they really care about what they’re saying? Or do they just have to have a reason to insert themselves into the conversation any time it’s surrounding womens issues?

My sister became a special victim's unit detective after witnessing the hell I went through with the detectives & prosecutors after I was raped. She wanted the victims she worked with to know that she would do everything in her power to fight for them and with them because she hated watching what I went through - I gave up. It was too degrading & messed with me mentally, emotionally & physically! My case never made it to trial, hell, I'd be shocked if charges were ever brought against my attacker! But my experience drove her to become a police officer with the goal of SVU detective. She was in SVU for years (in the United States) & had to take a step back from SVU because most of her cases never made it to court. She felt defeated every time she'd do the work, promise victims that she'd help them get justice, then have the prosecutor say there wasn't enough for charges or a prosecutable case. She got to the point of consistently feeling beaten down by the prosecutors & she could no longer emotionally handle having to face the victims with such awful news & seeing the confusion and betrayal in each victim's eyes! Most of her cases never made it to standing charges or court! So now she's the defense tactics instructor for her agency, plus she volunteers at the women's shelter teaching self-defense classes. She doesn't say it, but I'm certain she keeps in contact with those victims she couldn't help get justice and some kind of a sense of security. I know it still kills her. It seems like victims have to prove the validity of the crimes perpetrated against them... they have to prove they're being honest, that these awful, awful things happened to them, while perpetrators can claim they're the "true victim", being targeted by their accuser for whatever reason, without any sort of proof & somehow are believed more than their victims! Heaven forbid they be seen as the manipulative monsters they truly are!
I wish justice truly was blind and that those victimized had some semblance of power in fighting for what's truly right for them, & finding power in fighting to protect others from the same fate! I wish there was actual balance!
Honestly, I wish people like these monsters didn't exist, didn't hurt, didn't like hurting others, & didn't take what isn't theirs to take!

@@wowwoahwee First of all, suggesting that the justice system should avoid harsher rulings for repeat offenders is like saying we should hand out gold stars to those who continuously break the law. How about we take a moment to consider some actual data and real-world examples?
In many countries, there are laws that mandate stricter sentences for repeat offenders. Take three-strikes laws in the United States, for instance. These laws impose harsher penalties on individuals convicted of three or more serious crimes. The idea is to deter habitual criminals and protect society from those who just can't seem to learn their lesson.
Now, let's talk about recidivism rates. Studies have shown that repeat offenders often return to a life of crime. So, instead of coddling them with lenient sentences, maybe a more robust approach is needed to break the cycle. Harsher penalties can act as a deterrent, making individuals think twice before committing another offense.
Your concern about unintended consequences is duly noted, but it's not about overcorrection; it's about finding a balanced and effective approach. The criminal justice system should be nuanced, but that doesn't mean we should tiptoe around repeat offenders. We're not handing out cookies; we're dealing with people who pose a threat to society.
So, before you suggest handing out severance checks to repeat offenders, maybe take a closer look at how the legal systems of various countries address the issue. It's not about lacking humility; it's about protecting the public and ensuring that justice is served.

Did he enjoy listening to what this poor little girl went through? I know the law states 'a person is innocent until proven guilty', but once their guilt is proven, it is not stated anywhere that they should be treated with dignity. For some criminals they should be treated like criminals were back in they days of colonisation. Being an Australian and living in a country that was partially settled as a penal colony, some modern day criminals need to suffer that kind punishment. Even some judges and lawyers who allow vermin, like this one, to get away without any punishment or to get out of prison should be treated as criminals. We are told, as human beings we have evolved. It is clear some humans haven't and never will.

I was wondering really hard in the beginning about this. And why it had to happen 4 times.
After careful consideration, and if we exclude vile reasons such as "this prosecutor is just a sadist" and similar reasons there is the mildest form: too old to work with electric gadgets, hence also so strict with her posture (I don't know his age at the time, this is just what I would like to believe in his "defence")
      Or
He made her repeat it on purpose to amp up his video recording. There is a possibility that "this recorder doesn't work" is a lie and that he knew the longer this little girl has to sit, the more she will look miserable on screen, making the whole case easier to win. This is still really really bad because it is torture on its own. But some people are so eager to win a case that they only see the victims as a tool, not as a client of theirs. 😢
Having that case must have boosted his credentials (at least he and maybe the judge thought like that)

This is one of the worst flaws in the law system in almost every country. The vast majority of drug charges of individuals didn't pose any danger to a person but the consenting "offenders" themselves. Rehab availability and a generally improved education on drugs is almost always the right way to deal with this topic, yet people get stolen years off of their lives being opput into a cell instead. Meanwhile the hypocrisy lives on with one of the, factually speaking, most dangerous drugs out there, Alcohol, still being socially accepted and even advertised. It's so backward and unfortunate to see e.g. CP offenders getting a slap on the wrist while (especially in east asian countries like japan and SK) getting caught with a tab of acid could possibly mean to face over a decade in prison. I'm just somewhat hopeful to see a change when looking at the drug policies of portugal or the netherlands, where in the latter legal drug testing has been established and drugs such as cannabis and psilocybin are legal with mainly positive results for the country's economical and social aspect

it's actually very on brand and even supportive of male domination/male supermacy to support violent men who target women and girls. It's built in protective system for male dominated institutions. Keeping the people you are subjucating or trying to exploit in fear and terror makes them easier to control. All men are not violent rapist, many have pure hatred for rapist or pedophiles and violence against women but all men do benefit from women and girls being afraid of them and "respecting" the potential danger they pose (even if men do not want this type of fear adn "respect" from women and girls they still will get it and will benefit from it wether they realise it or not). Keeping women and girls in fear and terror makes them more likely to obey any if not most men, they will do things to avoid angering or hurting men even if it comes to their own cost, They will be less likely to challenge male domination which is important for the patriarchy and why they even support, enable and protect violence against women and girls (or in general female presenting bodies, because men who are gay, or seem effeminate and trans women due to their asssociation with feminity get targeted as well)@@squizzyicetea This act of allowing women and girls to be stalked, harrassed, raped etc. is part of gender based terrroriz to keep women and girls in fear and under mens thumb to make women fear men and obey them and also need men (always say women need men to protect them, leaving out the fact the greatest danger to women and girls is men in the first place). and so women have to be subject and "submissive" to men for protection. Rape is also a means to torture people and show women their "place". Just like stephanie said the predator more then anything enjoyed the pain and chaos he created in her life and the families life. It's a means to show power and contorl. One of the many things they drill into boys head is to dominate to "prove" their manliness and worth and who and what are they expected to dominate? women and land as "resources" and also other men to put themselves above them. Pedophiles and predators are a side effect and consequence of the sick teachings of male supremacy. People dont understand what kind of sick minds you create when you teach peopel that they are superior beings to half the planet no matter who or what they are and that violence and specifially sexual-/violence against women and girls (who are not even presetned as living beings but lesser objects) is a means to show your power and exist to be be enjoyed and used because males are "superior". Yes patriarchy is not the only reasons for mentally twisted people exist who hurt others and yes there are female predators and male victims but there is trastically huge differnce in how many male to female predators exist for a reason. And before someone says i hate men or think this is who men are. I am even more angry and distrubed because I know this sick behaviour is NOT inherent in men or boys even though some people like to act like it is "boys will be boys" nonsense and "male urges" nonsense. This sick behaviour is taught and enabled by parents, , society and medial (kids learn from subteldy and unspoken rules as well).

    3) From watching all your channels she has learned of the custom of having to drink with your boss & co-workers even if you don't want to. They do not deserve any kindness especially when they laugh at the fact you’re coming to them for a simple apology. Even just an apology and admitting to it. But no i couldn’t get that. Some people i truly think are evil and don’t belong no matter how much they act like a “great” person.

To think of trying to speak up a second time after the way it went the first time in OP's experience is an extremely stressful thought to say the least. They could be afraid to lose the remaining support they have in their life.

The laws against perpetrators of crime against women and children are so laxed, in comparison with others. The main deterrence against crime is punishment, no matter what people say, and the law in South Korea have shown sex offenders that there is nothing to fear. It's hard enough even with longer sentences, and not saying that south Korea is in any way unique in its treatment of women, i am from London and for the past 3 years our police have been in the headlines for the way they treat women, but the laws in south Korea make no sense.

@@azkadeelia laziness. So many people are just working a 9-5 when they have more responsibilities to worry about. "We don't get paid enough to think." is something I heard a lot while doing training with the military. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the same excuses with the police.

Is there a way we can support Na-Young? I would personally pay for her and family to visit an amusement park anywhere in the world and cover all medical costs of whatever care she would need. I know I'm not alone in this, I will do whatever I can to help and protect her.

He's a ticking time bomb. He has learned from his last crime. He will make sure to kill his next victim and hide the body. Sounds like he's testing how soon the ankle bracelet sounds out the alarm, how far a distance triggers it, and studies the cops reaction (which confirms in his mind that they do not strictly, strongly enforce his parole infractions.)

Honestly, from listening to Stephanie talk about Korean cases, Korea's justice system and priorities is a joke. Someone who commits murder or the aforementioned crime will serve less of a sentence than someone who did drugs. What is wrong with Korea? The other case that Stephanie discussed that juveniles can murder and get off scot free because of their age just angers me! What a ridiculous country, and honestly, I am glad I am not a citizen of South Korea. Everything down to their education system is just so messed up. Criminals have more rights than victims, and women have no rights in Korea.

The US also has many screwed up cases. From the woman who murder her 2 kids and got ZERO time in prison. Drink drivers who killed entire families and barely get any prison time.
We need justice reforms in many countries.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. At the same time, I hope people who live in countries who do have their priorities straight would better appreciate their countries. Many tend to take that for granted and how it's a given, but they were actually desperately fought for by their ancestors. It's how people can protect that heritage.

I am currently engaged to a South Korean citizen and if anyone asks me why I would never want to raise my future children in Korea, I can just direct them to this video. Crime and violence does occur everywhere, but I, at least, want my kids to have a fighting chance in a case like this. Infuriating and unbelievable.

@tortureddummies1672 South Korea urbanized and westernized very quickly. Their government still has a lot of catching up to do. Their laws with breaking into someone's home are also a great example (in addition to this case) of some of the holes that their justice system has. They tend to protect the perpetrators even if it isn't the intention. If you think money and power does a lot in the States, South Korea is worse in not all but many ways. Connections can get you anywhere in Korea. I love Korea and enjoy visiting with my fiance. Their culture is awesome. If you watch other of Stephanie's videos on Korea like the Seowol (probably spelled wrong) Ferry or Itewon case, you will see the weakness of their government when it comes to getting justice for families. These cases are not old. South Korea will catch up in this area, I have no doubt. Just not in my future children's childhood.

There is something wrong in the world we live in, honestly. People like him get out every single day after a ridiculous amount of time in prison (ridiculous as in: DEFINITELY NOT ENOUGH TIME THERE, although I think they should spent the rest of their lives there tbh).
A LOT of them don't even make it to prison most of the time, which is even worse.
A couple of years ago some police officers r4ped a girl in my town. Do you think any of them made it to prison? Nope, it didn't even got to the news, they ruined her (already difficult) life and they didn't even got any type of punishment.
It happens everywhere, it's absolutely awful.
