Awesome content, been subscribed. Was wondering, when you get a chance can you please make a 40 gallon fish ideas vid like the other size tanks you did?
Man my panther crabs both have gotten massive. Each are like 4" wide. Can't get them to stop unnecessarily trimming my plants. And the big honcho seems to have claimed the territory behind my dual phase sponge filter on the wall of my aquarium. I got them both at the size of a 50 cent piece like 2 months ago.. they've each already molted twice. Housed in a 55gallon planted community tank with a couple electric blue acaras and 3 angelfish, with 4 yoyo loaches and some kuhlis
I have one named "M". Not super imaginative, since he has a big M on his back. He is orange(ish). Dude is EVERYWHERE. You look away, and he is somewhere completely different. Very active. I'm trying to find out how to keep him happy. Can you put out a step by step for Crab keeping? What type of stuff does he need to molt? We have a hard glass tank. No sand or rocks, but a lot of ships, barrels, logs etc.
Yes, yours behave just like mine. I want to get 1 or 2 more to see how they coexist together and once I see that I'll be ready to make a full informative video
@@dwsdarius "I want to get 1 or 2 more to see how they coexist together and once I see that I'll be ready to make a full informative video" I would hold off on that, before doing some research. From what I understand of Panthers, they will kill the competitor. You need 6 or more, and you have a community with a pecking order. The abuse gets spread around. If you only have 2-3, the larger one will just kill off the others. This is what I read. yet.. no one talks about basic upkeep. My dude will back his way up into ceiling corners like a giant spider, and sleep or ... lurk. So when I can't find him, I need to look in, and up, and just look for a claw hanging down from a shadow. He stands up when the catfish get close to his food, so they no w back off. So I got basic feeding and lots of hiding spaces for him, but the molting I know nothing about. Do they bury themselves, or just need a cave?
@@ZimCrusher Mine would dig under a rock to molt, mainly because all of the other fish couldn't reach him there. I think as long as you have tight caves that are easily accessible for the crab but hard to reach for the fish it should work.
I have this crab, it ate about 200 dollars worth of aquarium fish the first two months, the only way I can keep him from eating my fish is to feed him giant shrimps which last for about 3 days
Eugene😂 You narrate so well. Adding bits of humor while still being informative. Gotta subscribe. Gonna check your other vids.
Thank you!
yeah i would worry about the slider attacking the crab
The turtle is very slow so I don't think he could have caught him, but the turtles in the pond now anyway.

Thanks, it'll take some time...but I'll work on it
That turtle is gonna eat him
The turtle is in the pond now
What happened? Why did you put him in the pond now?
@@Princeton58 He kept escaping the tank so I figured its time to give him more space

Nice to know that they coexist well together, mine is about 4" wide now too
Great vid Darius. I like this new top ten format ur bringing back !
Thank you!
Eugene is a helluva crab. He once saved me from a car wreck I was involved in. I owe him my life. 😂
What a crab
That is a really cool crab 🦀 I came across your channel so I stopped by to watch the show
Thanks, he's definitely one of my more unique pets
I would love a update on Eugene. I'm thinking about getting one at some point
Great video, interesting creature to add to an existing aquarium.
Thank you
Nice addition to the tank! I wouldn’t mind adding one with my blue and orange crayfish
Thanks, that would be a cool combo
Great video, also what camera did you film this with? Looks crisp
Thanks, I usa a Sony a7iii
thanks for the vid i love these fellas
Thanks, they definitely are interesting
I have a male and female in the same tank with barbs they're doing well
I have to find a female, so far everyone is selling them at sizes too small to sex
I have one named "M".

Me and my roomates just bought a red claw crab a couple weeks ago his name is Eugene too lmao
Nice, because Mr. Krabs is the GOAT

Do you still have him? 👀
I do and he's much bigger now
Would a 20 gallon long do well for them?
Yes, I would just make sure you have a lid in case it wants to wonder. I never had that issue but perhaps in a smaller tank it could happen
Update on eugene stat
Coming soon
eugene used domain expansion, you now have crippling ketamine addiction
Eugene might be a Eugenia.
Eugene might also be turtle food.
The turtle is in my pond now, but I think even if I left them together the turtle could never catch him
Promise y'all that turtle will not catch him
Yeah that's the big debate, the crab is very fast and likely won't ever be caught...but I put the turtle in the pond anyway
That turtle will kill him
Yep
If the turtle could catch him, but the turtle is in the pond now
Im guessing these would destroy my cherry barbs and khuli loaches...
Kuhli loaches yes, I thin cherry barbs can avoid them
Was it male or female???
Male
Did you just assume that crabs gender? 😅
