It might be fun to follow up this video with THIRD PARTY GAMES for Wii U, like Batman:Arkham City-Armored Edition, Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director's Cut, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, etc. What do you think?
The Wii U is the most underrated console in the world. It's only a bit worse than the Switch in most ways and is better than the PS4/Xbox One in many ways. It is backward-compatible with the entire library of 1,500 Wii games, has 750 of its own games, giving it 2,200 games in total, with 41 exclusives (Switch only has 35). It has free internet, Netflix, and online play. It has countless controllers. It's cheap to buy for. The new battery pack can make it last 8 hours (nearly twice that of the Switch). It also has better exclusives, such as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, and Super Mario 3D World. It also has a good library of games itself, such as: 007 Legends Alice in Wonderland The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Assassin's Creed 3 Assassin's Creed 4 Batman: Arkham City Batman: Arkham Orings Bayonetta Bayonetta 2 Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Call of Duty Ghosts Edge Guitar Hero Live The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild The Cave LEGO Batman 2 LEGO Batman 3 LEGO Jurassic World LEGO Marvel Super Heroes LEGO Marvel's Avengers LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens LEGO The Hobbit Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Mario Kart 8 Mass Effect 3 Mario VS Donkey Kong New Super Luigi U New Super Mario Brothers U Nintendo Land Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures The Pinball Arcade Pokemon Rumble U Resident Evil: Revelations Super Mario Maker Super Smash Brothers Splinter Cell Blacklist Sonic Lost World Transformers The Walking Dead Watch Dogs Wii Sports Club
Xbox is objectively the worst console of this generation. It's basically just a locked down PC with hardly any good exclusives and a clunky UI. It really went downhill after 360.
You were not around during the late 80s I take it. You should have seen how much Nintendo TV time there was, they had a weird game show based on the NES back then. And if you really like crappy movies check out the super mario bros movie :)
Here a few tip for Wii U collectors: - First print of BotW has kind of a misprint, fixed on the second print. Back of the game show you can use a wii mote to play the game, and this is false. - If I were you I would buy Darksiders Warmastered. One of the last Wii U games, with a lovely "false advertisement" sentence in the back, claiming that the Wii U version runs at 60 fps (and it runs at 30) - If you can find the Russian Special Edition of Darksiders 2, consider yourself lucky. It's a freakin' unicorn. - If you can buy the WindWaker console bundle, buy it. The only wii u special edition console released. - Get yourself a copy of Fatal Frame - Spiderman was removed from the e-shop. Physical price will probably go up. - Fast Racing Neo could be rare, EU only. - Scribblenauts Unmasked was released in the US and Australia, for European collectors (as myself), this is the only not released in Europe that can be played on European consoles. - Germany has a MK8 steelbok, Rayman Legends Steelbook, a Monster Hunter very rare version (with an ugly decal), and a lovely cardboard sleeve with cat mario (3d World) with an actual fluffy belly. - Sonic Lost World normal edition is more rare than the special edition (Deadly Six) - Not an official game, but GAME sold in the UK a box with a download code and some collectibles (poster and pokeballs) for the game Pokemon Rumble U
this is an old comment, but that doesn't make it any less true. I was pretty young when I got my wii U for cristmas in 2014 and never really appreciated it. now, with the eshop closing, I've been going out of my way to get all of the wii U games that I want to play physically before they get extremely expensive
@@SS64DD I’ve actually been doing the same thing to my 3ds. Actually watched a tutorial on how to back up my sd card in case I have to replace the card or console to see if there was gonna be any weird roadblocks. A lot of the games I cherish on Wii U made their way to switch eventually (not all but most) but a lot of the games on 3ds are stuck there, and I really hope they are ported to switch one day. I really think the Wii U was the necessary prototype for the switch to exist, but, having a switch since 2018, there’s a lot about how the switch works vs Wii U that’s frustrating to me. There’s still no communication like at all. Mii verse would have popped on switch, and would make it much easier to find groups and communicate still in your console. No real virtual console, just a weird subscription service with glaring omissions or companies reselling their classic games at a premium. Online is just as bad as Wii U except you have to pay for it now. Alright Nintendo. I just had to get this off my chest. The Wii U was thrown away by the mainstream and wasn’t perfect. But for my big monster hands, I honestly think the gamepad was my favorite and most comfortable controller I ever used. The sticks were great for shooters like black ops 2, but since no one played it, it was like being skilled at something no one cared about lol. And it still has some of the highest rated games of that console generation, despite being canned around 2017. The Wii U walked so the switch could run.
@@TheMelonFarmers123 great comment. I agree. If you liked the size of the gamepad, you should look at the SteamDeck. Very large but extremely comfortable hand held.
@@jarod3371 that’s funny you bring that up I was just looking at steam decks the other day. I’m not really digging what Xbox and ps are doing this gen, much less if you can even find the damn console without it being a part time job. But the steam deck, with its ability to be docked and portable, having a lot of games that are on both ps and Xbox, along with its less mainstream capabilities like emulation and messing with games that may not be “officially” supported but certainly can run, is fascinating. I do find the input layout a bit weird, but I’ve also never held one. Was kind of hoping a friend would get it before me but it doesn’t look like that is a thing. Honestly I think ima hang back until steam deck v2 if that ever comes out. I got my switch just before the version with the bigger and better battery came out, and while it’s not the biggest deal ever, it does sting a little watching my friends who waited and got a better product that they don’t have to be as aware of battery life as I have to be, especially when playing more intense games portably or using internet functionality portably
@@TheMelonFarmers123 Honestly, I am just wildly pissed that nintendo is deleting the 3DS and Wii U Eshops entirely in march of 2023. Like man I hate that shit. I like how Sony and Microsoft are keeping the stores for the old shit up. Just annoying, especially for eshop exclusives or DLC.
Kelsey you rock but smash bros on 3ds runs 60FPS - same as console, while wiiu does have a larger resolution - it doesn't technically run better. Yeah look at the loser commenting on tiny mistakes that dont matter, but this is a point that irked me ever since portable smash bros was announced. Always under a critical lens I kept the news of that game and when Nintendo delivered Sm4sh for 3ds with that amazing framerate it really exceeded expectations of a portable Smash Bros, its a marvel.
Can’t believe I just recently discovered your channel. Amazing content. Love the passion and energy you and your co-hosts show for video games. Keep it up!!
There's actually a hidden option to turn off hard drive idling. Go into Data Management, hold down on the d-pad, +, and -, and the option to disable hard drive sleep will show up. Works wonders and lets you use flash drives as external memory.
I just now got my Wii U (Wind Waker 32gb) w/ Smash, Splatoon, Shovel Knight, 3D World, Mario Maker, Nintendoland, and Tropical Freeze for only 70 bucks!
The best thing about the Wii U is the fact you don’t have to use the tv screen to play. My son will be playing WiiU while I’m playing PS3 at the same time.
@@crizzs Oh. We had this converter that hooked into the car and provided an electrical outlet and usb port. Just plugged in the wii u into the converter, which was plugged into this circular port in the front near the radio, and since the game pad had a screen we didn't need a tv. You just need an electrical outlet and you're good to go. Wouldn't work with older cars though. It's sorta hard to explain.
Thank you guys for showing some love to the WiiU, I made the decision to buy a WiiU when the Switch came out because I never got around to trying it before and I have been insanely impressed by nearly every game on the system, soooo many great games I'm going to be enjoying that library and the Wii Library for years to come!
Oh hey look it’s 4 years later, and I can say I got far more than my moneys worth, especially since the console itself and all the games were dirt cheap when I got them! Didn’t have to drop $60 per game on switch just to play slightly updated versions and it kept me busy while switch prices came down, now have a substantial collection of both for a very reasonable total price. oh and the WiiU also now sells for more than I paid for it
I'm a grown man and I LOVE my Wii U. Got it from my wife and kids 2015 Christmas. I don't have all the games I want for it yet, but I have most of them. My 2 favorites are Zelda BOTW and Super Mario Maker!!
that was its best year, and believe it or not, turned a profit that year! www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/07/wii_u_squeezes_past_10_million_lifetime_sales_as_nintendo_remains_on_target_with_profits
Same here... got ours Christmas 2015 and haven't looked back! However, my son is buying a Switch here pretty soon so excited for the new one to come as well!
I really love your channel. The guests you have on create some good variety in opinions, as well as personality. And, most importantly, this show is 100% sincere. Keep on doing what you're doing, it's great!
Bought my wiiU from a buddy for a great price because his family thought it was lame. I have three kids younger in years and my 4 and 7 year old LOVE their system. Mario kart, super smash, Mario land, paper Mario, Donkey Kong, Super Mario maker. Hands down one of my favorite systems ever and it will be a mainstay in my family for years to come. Now if they would just drop the prices a little more on the rest of the must have titles...I like the quote just because it's a failed system does not make it a bad system. Diamond in the rough.
I played Breath of the Wild for 3 weeks straight every day with my pro controller and it didn't die. I play ANY ps4 game for too long and I have to charge my controller sometimes the same day.
Haabemaaster I have a no name pro controller and I have To charge my controller once a a week. I think it's the nintendo official one that are unstoppable
Gejamugam Latsoomanam Thats not comepletly true. In EU the WiiU came in a ZombiU bundle with the Pro Controller and the 32 gb version. So youre kinda right and wrong at the same time :D
I really love playing Breath of the Wild with main controller just because when aiming with a bow. Being able to aim with the analog sticks and then being able to fine tune via the motion control makes for some supreme accuracy. I believe incorporating this into future games helps close the gap between the mouse (which is believed to be supreme when used in say FPS games when aiming).
Absolutely love the Wii U! This console was in such high demand in my household, I got a 2nd. I had so many games for it that I decided to go for a full collection.
Same! Just bought my Wii U in November last year, so only two months ago. Bought it with the Pro Controller and two games... I have a huge collection of games for other systems, but now I look forward to expanding the Wii U collection, even though some games are hard to find.
@@TucBroder Yah and it is a perfect time to get into it. Nintendo is disabling eshop capabilities in march of 2023. So you have until then to get any eshop titles or DLC. I mean, to me it just sucks. Smash 4 will not be the same for me if I have no access to the download characters. Like damn you nintendo lol.
The Wii U is my all time favorite platform. I bought it when it came out. My prior platform was the NES. It plays games both old school and new games. I love it.
thehaxfactory I'd still buy it for my Wii u instead even if I had a switch. I honestly like the gamepad more than I do the joy cons. And both versions are pretty much identical anyways
I recently bought a wii u for very cheap, with the intent to flip it. My family has literally fallen in love with the system. My wife who never cared for gaming at all, loves Smash bros and Mario 3D world. I don't think she will let me sell the system anymore. This makes the Wii u a very special system.
I have Never played Wii U. But I think now is the perfect time to pick one up. Its good knowing that the Wii U is done. Now I can look at the whole collection of games and Start picking them up.
MetalJesusRocks nice to see that you've finally got the Wii U. If you have the NES classic controller, you can use that on the Wii U, as it has the Wiimote connector. Theres also a Club Nintendo SNES controller for the Wii, which will work too, probably costs about $40 to get nowadays. I could talk about the Wii U all day long, if you haven't got NES Remix, I'd suggest you get it
Like others said, better do it quick. Prices are already getting up there, consoles were pulled from stores so you'll never see them sitting around at bargain prices like the ps3 and xbox 360 were. The Wii U will only get more expensive in the next few years.
not technically done, there's still 3rd party games coming this year, as well as Zelda DLC, so it still has minimal support. Next year is likely its last, with 2019 being discounts to move unsold merchandise.
2 TB limit. You can use a larger HDD than that but the Wii-U will use just 2TBs from it. I got a really good deal on a 3TB drive and it works fine on the WiiU.
I love the Wii U! My favorite games are Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition, Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. "Failure" or not, the Wii U was awesome. I hate these console wars.
Dustin Nunn i dont know how and why the wii u failed because it didn't have third party games. Third party games!!!!! Wooow. P.S i love both my switch and my wii u
I appreciate the conversational approach to this video. I feel like I’m eavesdropping on a discussion between friends as opposed to being told that I’m a noob and I need to listen to the “experts”. I’m learning and adding items to my wish list without being beaten over the head with content. Thanks!
Bruh. Of course BotW is gonna be expensive for Wii U later. Twilight Princess for GameCube is already three times what the Wii version is preowned. Sealed is insane.
BotW on Wii U is the exact same experience as Switch, or poorer arguably. The Gamecube version of TP is better than the Wii in all ways, even having less crashes and faster load times (slightly).
And just to mention for good measure, I have held off getting a Switch because I still fully enjoy the Wii U. I might just put off getting a Switch for even longer simply because I am so completely satisfied with this system. With a lot more games to discover, getting a Switch seems FAR from necessary.
@Mako You get to play DS games on the Wii U with your TV and gamepad if you choose. I've never played DS games before and a whole new world has opened up, especially with the use of the gamepad's stylus. In other words, Wii + DS x 1080p = Wii U. So yes, please get one and enjoy :). If you do feel free to hit me up for some MK8 online or CoD Ghosts, or even Ninja Gaiden or Tekken! It all still works for the most part but who knows for how long.
I have Xbox one x, PS4 pro, switch and pc and I STILL go back to my wii u still in 2019. It’s that game pad man, that damn game pad is so good, As much as I love my switch I was so gutted when I found out the console was the pad and you couldn’t use it as a second screen, that’s the best feature on any console ever
I just picked one up for myself (I wanted the Zelda HD remakes and it was taking forever for a switch release) I have the donkey Kong port, bayonetta, and got Ducktales, Zelda, and hoping to pick up 3D world. Do u have any other recommendations?
I loved this video! I don't have a Switch yet and have been playing my Wii U since 2013 and I absolutely love it! And you guys couldn't be more right about the Pro Controller! It really does last for 80 hours! It's crazy!
Also for third party stuff, no GTA V even tho the Wii U came out just in time to host it and was perfectly capable of doing so! HUGE missed opportunity there!
One game I've got in my collection is Runbow, which was developed with the WiiU in mind because it could support up to 9 players (straight from the developers mouth). There is a Switch port now, but still good for collecting purposes.
This is how society is this days; whenever they have it at their hands they don’t like it, but as time goes by they start praising the item like never before..
I have the original white WiiU that only has 8g of space. It has so many extra ports for external storage even more than I on my computer. I've been using the cheapest thumbsticks for storage for years now & never had a problem. I've even pulled it out while the WiiU was on. I have tons of games on it and not one corrupted file. The risk is minimal. There's with everything. Even physical. In fact I have a physical game that won't play due to a tiny little scratch that you can barely see.
That’s good to know I just ordered a Wii U and it cost me 170$ idk if that’s too high I just hope I get it in good condition. I wanted something to play all the Zelda games on.
No he's right, Nintendo stuff always end up collectible, when I got my Switch I kept all my WiiU stuff. I learned my lesson from trading all my Game Cube and Wii games.
death cube zelda games will not get expensive because they are not limited run games. Also they sell a lot. A game that has potential to get expensive in this list is the captain toad. It didnt sell very well.
Pro tip for Captain Toad Treasure Tracker: 1/3 of the game isn't accessible without the Toad Amiibo. So pick that up because it's an awesome puzzle game but it's short.
Spoiler alert from what I know there are 4 modes 1st as Toad 2nd as Todette 3rd as Toad again and 4th is super Mario 3D world without jumping if you have SM3DW
same. If they only had better games on it instead of a few good ones. Little incentive to buy one back then. I have two, one modded, one not. Love the console.
It's not a game issue.. it's idiots going "oh it's just a new Wii... I already have a Wii" instead of looking at what it really is. I picked up one towards the end of its life and stopped using my xbone completely so sold it.
Finally, someone who actually likes and appreciates the Wii U. Yes the timing was poor (like Saturn, Dreamcast etc), yes the advertising was poor. I love the Wii U.
I have mixed feeling on the Wii U. Beautiful graphics, particularly Zelda which is one of the most gorgeous games I’ve seen. I also love the WiiU Pro controller, which I would say is the best controller for Retro Pie, as there are so many options when going between different consoles on the Raspberry Pi. I also like how it’s backwards compatible and you can download old games through the store. However, really not a fan of the huge screen controller, the interface is a bit irritating and the cd based games don’t last long with kids!
YOU GUYS! This is awesome!!!!! Thank you! I’m going to go out and get this today!!!!!! Also, I LOVE her crocnana shirt 👊🏽 So much good info here. Props 🙏🏽🙌🏽
I like to think that MJ has a box somewhere of broken controllers that he's crushed like empty beer cans in his gigantic hands. "Stupid Dark Souls! Shit, not again!" :)
I just bought my own Wii U and received it yesterday. I'm excited to use it to play all of the older generation Nintendo games I missed while growing up. I just bought Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Mario Kart 8 was pre installed. I intend to purchase the 2D Metroid series, some if the Zelda games, New Super Mario series, and many other miscellaneous games across the generations that I'll find fun to play. Either way, I'm a happy boy.
This was my last straw with nintendo as the wii u version would have been better than the switch version with all the game pad functions - I see that blank screen as a big f*** you from nintendo everytime I play and have no intention of buying a switch!
UnlicensedOkie Me too, just got WW HD, Bayo 1 and 2, Ninja Gaiden 3 and Darksiders 2. I just want Xenoblade X and Captain Toad. I have 11 Wii U games :)
Dark Warrior get Zelda BOTW or Mario kart 8 xD(I am getting a Nintendo switch in 13 days so I am just using a Wii u emulator to play Zelda BOTW and Mario kart 8 in 60fps
One thing to mention is Wii games that use the dance pad controller such as DDR use the gamecube controller port. There are adapters that let you connect it to the Wiimote so you can play them on Wii U, but it's not always 100% responsive. i found this out after I sold my original Wii lol
Not a bad choice, I also got mine really late. Be sure to pick up Xenoblade Chronicles X, it's incredible and the best game I've ever played, and there's no port for it yet. That game alone made the Wii U worth it for me.
@@ant-fan ayyy nice! Finally someone who gives this masterpiece some respect instead of treating it like a filler between XC1 and 2. I spent around the same amount of time on it so far, and I'm only like 65% through the game. Do you think we'll get a port or sequel soon? I need to know how the story continues ._.
@@borealssb1384 I'd obviously rather a sequel than a port, but a port would be hype. I feel like not enough people played the game on Wii U. I haven't quite finished the game yet, but it's one pf my favorites. I honestly preferred X to the main series Xenoblade games (though those are great, too). I just preferred the setting, characters, and story, and I'm biased toward games with custom characters.
This channel has one of the best supporting Casts around. Basically all of The Jesus's guests are pretty rad, knowledgeable and fun. As a Vintage Gamer, I appreciate the diverse perspectives.
Tears of the kingdom really brought me back to playing a lot of Nintendo games and made me finally want to get a Wii U since it's so versatile for a lot of stuff when modded. Though honestly I mainly wanted to play Windwaker in HD which is awesome
It's the most beautiful version of the game but the frame rate is pretty bad for boss fights and certain enemies in the game but didn't ruin the experience
I bought a used Wii-U for 120$ two years ago for Super Smash Bros. and Zelda Breath of the Wild, and was not disappointed. I have expanded my library since and it now a Zelda/Metroid machine for me, and I am totally satisfied with my purchase. There is a certain satisfaction I get, when my roommate that has a Switch, wants to borrow my Wii so he can play WindWaker or Twilight Princess in HD.
Should have mentioned Zombi U. Definitely the best use of the gamepad by any game on the system. I loved it. Also I believe the Wii U supports up to 2, 2TB external harddrives. I can't imagine you'd ever need that much space though lol.
@Doctor Doom That isn't inherently a bad thing. It's meant to be a slow game. The game isn't trying to be CoD zombies mode. It's that way to force the player to be more strategic and careful, it's a survival horror game. It's not for everyone, but that aspect of the game is intentional so you can't take on more than 1 or 2 zombies at once.
I just bought a Wii U yesterday on eBay… can’t wait to play it! I had a Wii… until my brother took it. So instead of getting a Wii again I figured he can keep it and I’ll buy a Wii U! Great video!
@@iamart120 You’re wrong. Look at all the 1st party games that were ported to the Switch. Wii U was a great console with great games to match but the marketing department dropped the ball.
Just got a Wii U today with Twilight Princess, Shantai and New Super Mario Bros Wii. looking forward to collecting for the Wii OG and the U. Super Mario 3D World is actually in the mail now and I'm pretty excited :D
I was convinced to buy a Wii u after watching this video and gotta say I love it! Going to put as many hours into it as I can really wish I got it sooner. So many great games and windwaker HD is beautiful hyrule warriors is incredible playing as ganon dorf. Nintendo never fails to make amazing games
If nintendo named it something comepletely different it would have sold drastically better because I felt like a lot of people just thought it was just a gamepad for the original wii and didn't see a need for a gamepad, but this is by far the best nintendo system that can do everything you can download a bunch of good old games too from the eshop, you can even easily hack it to run gamecube games off an SD card as well to do other stuff
I picked up the wii u for one of my sons christmas pressies the 2nd year of its release and didnt play it much at all. We had like 8 games and a few digital download ones, the big nintendo games and even now we have like only 20 games. However what got e playing it was getting a pro controller. Yeah you need the tablet for some games like even in breath of the wild you need to use the tablet controller to tilt in some of the shrines but i use the pro controller for that game too 95% of the time and its a blast. Over half the games mentioned here (the JRPG like or more off center titles we dont have here) we have and yah theyre a lot of fun. My first console was a NES back in 86 when I was 6 and my oldest son was 6 when I got this so I was kinda hoping to share that excitement and love for nintendo and both my boys do love the crap outa the console and so does my missus and myself. It is such an underrated console and far better than people give credit for, its just a shame the proprietary engine and os were so time consuming and difficult to port to, hence why so many developers fell out of making games for the console. The fact that yes it does indeed play wii games is a massive boon and I'm planning on scouring ebay for hidden gems and youtube and websites for suggestions, also buying a bigger SD card and filling it with the classic older console games on the nintendo store while the system is still being supported. I will break this thing down and repair it if it ever breaks as yeah getting a new one is impossible and 2nd hand is a crapshoot and I know this unit has been cared for and loved so yeah, its a keeper. PC Master Race tho ;)
I suggest you get all the virtual console games that you want as of right now I have a feeling that Nintendo might shut it down pretty soon so if you want to play exclusive games l Earthbound, sin and punishment, and all the exclusives NOW would be a good time to buy them if Nintendo decides to shut it down.
The Wii U has HDMI output, whereas the Wii doesn’t. It looks blurry. This Wii U can connect to modern televisions in HD and play Wii games that look a lot better.
@@timterrell8678 not quite HD, but still a better resolution than if it was run in the Wii. The Wii can only display 480i. The vWii chip upscales Wii games to 720p. It's not 1080p, but it's A LOT better
You should because its a great system , with alot of great games like a ps3, you wont regret it but get it before they all sell out cause they stop producing them this year
Great console, still playing with it to this day. Under my TV is sitting next to the Dreamcast, which was correctly mentioned by metal jesus as a similar console in some ways.
Cutter Elf: I would expect this a while after Mario Odyessey comes out so they don't compete with each other. My guess would be the Mario 3D World port might come out few months before a new Mario Kart: Switch to build new Mario game hype.
It might be fun to follow up this video with THIRD PARTY GAMES for Wii U, like Batman:Arkham City-Armored Edition, Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director's Cut, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, etc. What do you think?
I have had my Wii U for a few years and i never knew it played Wii games. Okami HD here I come.
btw, you can use the wiiu gamepad as a sensor bar for wii games. just put it in the dock. you can even use it as a screen for wii games too!

Retro Workshop Mah dude, Wii U had ONLY 41 exclusives, Switch has ALREADY 35 in it's FIRST year, that's huge.

- If you can find the Russian Special Edition of Darksiders 2, consider yourself lucky. It's a freakin' unicorn.
- If you can buy the WindWaker console bundle, buy it. The only wii u special edition console released.
- Get yourself a copy of Fatal Frame
- Spiderman was removed from the e-shop.
- Sonic Lost World normal edition is more rare than the special edition (Deadly Six)
- Not an official game, but GAME sold in the UK a box with a download code and some collectibles (poster and pokeballs) for the game Pokemon Rumble U
Nice to see the Wii U getting love
Been there since 2013, most underrated console since the Dreamcast.
this is an old comment, but that doesn't make it any less true.
Thanks to Kelsey for helping me with this video. You ROCK! :)
MetalJesusRocks yes,yes she does...
Tell Kelsey she's the coolest and the most attractive woman I've ever seen in my life. I just wanna give her a hug SO BAD!!! Mmmmmm...
MetalJesusRocks i think you should make another version of your top ten/hidden gems games but with system exclusives only. That would be awesome!
CyberHax Inc sammeeee
Sengoku Nadeko where u get it
Sengoku Nadeko were from?
nobody special lies
Lucky...
AWESOME!
The best thing about the Wii U is the fact you don’t have to use the tv screen to play. My son will be playing WiiU while I’m playing PS3 at the same time.
unless you want to play Splatoon.
yea like when I go to mexico I don't have a TV there so I'll just plug in the console and use the gamepad
My dad and I used to drive around taking turns playing it in the car.
@@grimes6357 how?
Sooo many great games
that are on or have better versions on the Switch
@@thesevact there like 90% the same on switch with a few minor changes
You wasted your moneyy 😂😂
Not soo many great game like swicth have😂
Oh hey look it’s 4 years later, and I can say I got far more than my moneys worth, especially since the console itself and all the games were dirt cheap when I got them!
Homebrew and cfw.
I played Breath of the Wild for 3 weeks straight every day with my pro controller and it didn't die. I play ANY ps4 game for too long and I have to charge my controller sometimes the same day.
Haabemaaster I know right!!!
Haabemaaster I have a no name pro controller and I have To charge my controller once a a week. I think it's the nintendo official one that are unstoppable
DS4 comes with the console, pro controller needs xtra $$$$ so leave your fanboyism out
Gejamugam Latsoomanam Thats not comepletly true.
The Wii u was the best decision for me buying wise, it plays everything from NES to Wii U which is just amazing. An awesome console for sure!
This is my 3rd time visiting this video. Still building up my Wii U collection here and there since 2016! Love your reviews :)
Same! Just bought my Wii U in November last year, so only two months ago. Bought it with the Pro Controller and two games... I have a huge collection of games for other systems, but now I look forward to expanding the Wii U collection, even though some games are hard to find.
Me too
@@TucBroder Yah and it is a perfect time to get into it.
I love it.
Zombi U utilised the game pad in such a terrifying way. But it was good fun to watch someone else play!
Breath of the Wild was designed for the Wii U. They held it off to sell the Switches
Dan Del Aguaro both WiiU and Switch variations of ABOTW were released on the same day. Definitely not held off.
thehaxfactory I'd still buy it for my Wii u instead even if I had a switch. I honestly like the gamepad more than I do the joy cons. And both versions are pretty much identical anyways
thehaxfactory I would never play it in handheld mode anyways. If I really want to play on a handheld tho I'd just grab my vita or my 3ds.
thehaxfactory are you talking about scope wise or acclaimed wise? Because there's PLENTY of great games on the vita and 3ds
thehaxfactory and personally my game of the year last year was persona 5 anyway
I recently bought a wii u for very cheap, with the intent to flip it. My family has literally fallen in love with the system. My wife who never cared for gaming at all, loves Smash bros and Mario 3D world. I don't think she will let me sell the system anymore. This makes the Wii u a very special system.
I have Never played Wii U. But I think now is the perfect time to pick one up. Its good knowing that the Wii U is done. Now I can look at the whole collection of games and Start picking them up.
Alec J McD get in quick with the Nintendo games. Prices will only go up. Great system and well worth owning
Prices will definitely go up when Gamester in the US starts liquidating the games... And I bet that will happen this year!
Kelsea and MJ,
I have 1TB hooked up to my WiiU. Just wanted to confirm that it can support at least this much. Thanks for the video!
it can support up to a 2tb external drive
it can support 2 external drives up to 2TB
I have 1,5tb working on mine
I have a sd card reader and a 64 gb sd card plug into my wii u.
2 TB limit. You can use a larger HDD than that but the Wii-U will use just 2TBs from it. I got a really good deal on a 3TB drive and it works fine on the WiiU.
I honestly like this channel so much like im not even getting a wii u and watched the whole video lol

Wii u kicks ass
+Simon Senpai I will support any garbage anyone sells as long as I get paid to say what's better.
Glad to see he finally came around, he was so against a Wii U about 7-8 months ago. It is a great system
The Gamecube version of TP is better than the Wii in all ways, even having less crashes and faster load times (slightly).
i always remember she is standing on a box now LMAO 😂😂😂
Not anymore. They carved a space out of MJ's floor to make it easier for all his guests.

I would rather have her standing on my back, that'll be the best massage I'll ever get!
she can stand on my front step and ring my bell.
then she come in and beat the spike fish for me on donkey kong :(
Still play Wii U daily in late 2019. Awesome awesome system.
In other words,
Wii + DS x 1080p = Wii U.
I just bought it!
I just picked one up for myself (I wanted the Zelda HD remakes and it was taking forever for a switch release) I have the donkey Kong port, bayonetta, and got Ducktales, Zelda, and hoping to pick up 3D world. Do u have any other recommendations?
When they announced the Switch, i bought a Wii U.
I still haven't got a Switch to this day. In fact am digging more and more about my Wii U.
Def worth getting a switch
I loved this video! I don't have a Switch yet and have been playing my Wii U since 2013 and I absolutely love it! And you guys couldn't be more right about the Pro Controller! It really does last for 80 hours! It's crazy!

Would love too see a followup to this for 2020 considering the sheer number of ports that have happened
No Metroid Prime for the Wii U is one of the biggest fails. The gamepad basically is the scanner.
There is but in virtual console called metroid prime Trilogy
Also for third party stuff, no GTA V even tho the Wii U came out just in time to host it and was perfectly capable of doing so! HUGE missed opportunity there!
One game I've got in my collection is Runbow, which was developed with the WiiU in mind because it could support up to 9 players (straight from the developers mouth). There is a Switch port now, but still good for collecting purposes.
This is how society is this days; whenever they have it at their hands they don’t like it, but as time goes by they start praising the item like never before..

@IG: confused_melo To see proof melo is trash #Ginga SA2 is bad
Lot of it is nostalgia driven. People who grew up with a console are bound to like it
I have the original white WiiU that only has 8g of space.
Metal Jesus always great content ty so much and add Kelsey to it freaking pure gold!
wii u is one to collect now before the prices go up
It will be collectable just like dreamcast...
No he's right, Nintendo stuff always end up collectible, when I got my Switch I kept all my WiiU stuff. I learned my lesson from trading all my Game Cube and Wii games.
My local "retro" shop sells gamecube consoles for 45$ cad. Zelda tp is like 40$.. What's so special about it ?
death cube zelda games will not get expensive because they are not limited run games. Also they sell a lot. A game that has potential to get expensive in this list is the captain toad. It didnt sell very well.

same. If they only had better games on it instead of a few good ones. Little incentive to buy one back then. I have two, one modded, one not. Love the console.
It had some amazing games. The failure led to the switch. It was meant to be.
It's not a game issue.. it's idiots going "oh it's just a new Wii... I already have a Wii" instead of looking at what it really is.

Wii U is my favorite console tbh.

Big Wii U fan but I’m a bit pi$$ed at the Switch for being the reason Nintendo stripped out the Zelda BOTW Wii U gamepad functionality!
Yeah I actually like the WiiU more because of the dual screen

One thing to mention is Wii games that use the dance pad controller such as DDR use the gamecube controller port. There are adapters that let you connect it to the Wiimote so you can play them on Wii U, but it's not always 100% responsive. i found this out after I sold my original Wii lol
Tekken Tag 2 was best on WiiU and online was FREEEE!!!! (So was DLC...ah the good old days)
I just bought my Wii u first time ever today.
Not a bad choice, I also got mine really late. Be sure to pick up Xenoblade Chronicles X, it's incredible and the best game I've ever played, and there's no port for it yet. That game alone made the Wii U worth it for me.
Why not cemu ?
Trollutena is absolutely right. Xenoblade Chronicles X is a masterpiece. I sunk over 200 hours into that game without ever getting bored.
@@ant-fan ayyy nice! Finally someone who gives this masterpiece some respect instead of treating it like a filler between XC1 and 2. @@borealssb1384 I'd obviously rather a sequel than a port, but a port would be hype. I feel like not enough people played the game on Wii U. I just preferred the setting, characters, and story, and I'm biased toward games with custom characters.

Just got me a Wii U. Thanks again Metal Jesus, you've done it again. Both Wii's thanks 2 your buying guides.
I just bought a Wii U yesterday on eBay… can’t wait to play it! I had a Wii… until my brother took it. So instead of getting a Wii again I figured he can keep it and I’ll buy a Wii U! Great video!
Make sure you download all that Eshop stuffs before they are all gone.
Proud owner of Wii U. Finish Zelda botw using it. Too bad they drop the map in the screen. Glad they ported most of the amazing game to switch.
Yes it failed (I bought one) but even though I'm a PC guy look at how successful the Switch is and the Switch wouldn't exist without this idea first
switch would exist without the Wii U. You had the Ps Vita, Psp, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS.

You’re wrong.
Most underrated console of all time.
Did you already have games? Curious as to where people get them since the eshop closed.
Try getting a 3ds one day...
Kelsey is just adorable, reminds me of my daughter a few years older.
Just got a Wii U, enjoying it so much! This guide is spot on 👌🏼😎
The Wii U has HDMI output, whereas the Wii doesn’t. It looks blurry. This Wii U can connect to modern televisions in HD and play Wii games that look a lot better.
Wii U doesn’t convert Wii games to HD. Your claims are false according to Nintendo themselves.
Wii games definitely look better on the Wii U I can confirm I got it and my games look way cleaner especially text is way cleaner.
Victor Masih watch this from 0:42 on. It’s proof the Wii looks better. th-cam.com/video/DtIIl28Lnj4/w-d-xo.html
Wii games crash a lot on the Wii U iirc
@@timterrell8678 not quite HD, but still a better resolution than if it was run in the Wii. The Wii can only display 480i. The vWii chip upscales Wii games to 720p. It's not 1080p, but it's A LOT better
I've got a wiiu heading my way in the mail right now. I can't wait.
How much should I pay for Mario kart bundle with 1 game thanks
whats your nnid?
Five years later and I still love my Wii U.
just bought the Wii U and i love it
Alex i Maybe Buy One too
You should because its a great system , with alot of great games like a ps3, you wont regret it but get it before they all sell out cause they stop producing them this year
Xenoblade Chronicles X looks really nice on the Wii U
Xenoblade Chronicles X is a open world game like Breath of the wild and XB2 is like a 3d adventure
Great console, still playing with it to this day. Under my TV is sitting next to the Dreamcast, which was correctly mentioned by metal jesus as a similar console in some ways.
Super Mario 3D World would be a really good idea on the Switch I guess. You could play co-op using each joy-con as a separate controller.
Cutter Elf: I would expect this a while after Mario Odyessey comes out so they don't compete with each other. My guess would be the Mario 3D World port might come out few months before a new Mario Kart: Switch to build new Mario game hype.
