Appreciate you answering my question! Just took my Final for one of my classes and passed with a 97 final grade!
You’re welcome! Keep up the good work!
Love your videos bro but one you forgot was a field operator works with the oil pumps although you don’t NEED a PO degree it does come in handy. They typically make about 28 in west Texas
Nice! I appreciate you finding my channel and thank you for sharing with us the pay out there in West Texas
Good stuff as always! I wish you a fast and speedy recovery and that everything goes well!
Side note: I just accepted an operator internship with Chevron in Pascagoula! I watch all your videos and it helps a lot. Thank you!
Nice work! I interned at the same facility back in 2014. This experience will help you any many ways. Congrats brother!
@@winningwithwells Thank you!
Great information bro. I’m at the last step for a Process Operator position at a refinery in Denver, CO. Been through the process since May. Career changing opportunity I’ve followed you the entire time. Thanks for the inspiration. 🙏🏾
Hope you get it. Suncor?
@@iconquer42 I appreciate it 🤝🏾
You’re welcome! I appreciate you and congratulations on making it this far. I believe you will get the call. Let us know how it goes. Good luck!
@@winningwithwells bro what’s your email
Nuclear Power Plants also pay high like the refineries. $37-48 for outside operators. Reactor operators $50/hr. Senior Reactor operators $60/hr.
Nice! Pay attention and make sure to save this comment guys!
I was a utilities plant operator intern and the hired me full time starting in December after I graduate, pay is less is power industry compared to petrochemical and refinery - I work for calpine it’s a cogeneration power plant- I live in Houston
Nice! You’re right about the pay. Congratulations on landing the full time position as well
@@winningwithwells bro I need to communicate with you what’s your email ?
Hey Wells, by any chance could you make a video going more into detail about offshore process operator? I never knew about this and now that you’ve mentioned it, I am very interested. Thank you
Yes I can! I will make one this coming week.

Hey wells i did my Masters in business will i be able to get a job in refinery as a process operator/field operator. As i was doing my research the requirements are only high school diploma required but ptec is preferred plus oil and gas workers are under staffed as well can you please explain.
Yes you can get job as an operator/ technician. The process technology degree is preferred but you have more than enough education. You will build your experience through the company.
Mainly if you pass the pre employment test (similar to asvab for military) and interview well. You should be able to land a job. Not sure what state you are currently living in but most jobs will be located along the gulf coast (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama), also California and the Midwest areas
@@winningwithwellswhere would i be able to prepare for the pre employment test. Do you know any online platforms, to study from. Moreover i am located in Atlanta Georgia. Over here there is one lng terminal plant in alba island in savannah Georgia. And other company is colonial pipeline.
I’m starting classes this semester and should be graduating next Fall since I already have credits under my belt. I wanted to ask what internships did u apply for and when exactly should I start applying to put me in an successful spot. I’m from Houston too 🤘🏽
Nice! I applied for Chevron Internship back in Mississippi when I was in my last semester of college. I suggest you start applying during your last semester in 2023 the internships should start then or 1st quarter 2024. Hopefully this helps!
Brother I’m in New Orleans, graduated with my Ptec degree a year ago and I have yet to land a job.. Any recommendations
I suggest using indeed.com or reach out to your past instructors about any upcoming job opportunities
What are the different schedules for operators. Like I know there dupoint and 2-2-3. Are you able to explain each one and which one is the best of to try to go for?
th-cam.com/video/fnHk4a_V64s/w-d-xo.html
I linked my other video explaining the schedules. In my opinion DuPont is the best one because of the full week off every month. Hopefully this helps!
Do you know if a felon can be a process operator (assuming that the conviction(s) are not the type that would prohibit someone from obtaining a TWIC card and are 7+ years old)?
That’s a good question, I’m not sure. I would suggest going to the company website and emailing the HR department. They would know which specific jobs are available
Some will hire you
im a union boilermaker but i want a job in the power plant ive do jobs for the southern company lots lf times you think there is a way for me to get in i have my associates degree in applied science when i told welding school
of*
There’s a chance you can get in. It will depend a lot on your resume and how well test/interview. Also, at the moment do you know any one that works for Southern Company personally. Or can you meet people that work there. All of this will increase your chances.
what is the easiest and laid back ptac job you can get with a ptac degree?
I’m not sure, it will vary depending on the location and operating systems that particular company has in place
Hey Wells, do you know if there are any schools that offer the Ptech program online? Due to my work schedule in the O&G industry online seems to be the only way to go and I'm not sure anywhere in NM even offers the program.
At the moment, I am not sure where you can get an online ptech degree. I know there are classes available online here in Texas but you have to test in person.
Try looking into near by community colleges and talk with the advisors. You may be able to work out a favorable plan like 20 percent in person 80 percent online. It doesn't hurt to ask. Hopefully this helps.
@@winningwithwells Thanks for that info and I definitely enjoy your videos, they have helped tremendously!
@@anthonyfajardo4578 I currently do stabilizer operations which is an easy transition from production. I didn't go to school for it every job has to train you for their process. Now i accepted a offer to be a process operator at a gas plant. My best advice is just applying for the careers and learn how to do well in the interview.
Are there any online classes?
There maybe depends on the college and their program instructors
Where here in houston i can get the ptech ?
There are plenty of community college here that offer the ptech program:
- Houston Community College
- Lee College
- Alvin Community College
- College of The Mainland
- San Jac Community College
- Lone Star College
You amazing bro thank you ima follow your foot steps, you give me a path to follow🙏🙏🙏
