I found this exact mower at a pawn shop. It looked brand new and only had 68 hours on a 26 HP Kohler Command Pro engine. They had it priced at 3500 and I talked the shop owner into selling it for 2950. I love the fact that it's built like a tank and the cut quality is almost as good as a Scag Tiger Cub that I lost in a divorce years ago......LOL! Wish that the Spartan had a Kawasaki engine, but I can't complain about the deal I got.
Theres just something about that dark grey paint of the spartan mower... its like storm clouds moving in the grass nows it gonna get cut with a lil wind lol good video
Yes sir....I love mine as well. I had to get the keypad replaced cause a button quit working and my dealer sent me a warranty replacement within 2 days. Great support

I looked at many different brands and even went and tested some. I made my decision based on the quality of the machine and how they built it. They didnt go cheap on anything really. And from what understand the guy that started spartan is the same guy that started bad boy. He was pushed out of bad boy so he started a new company. I couldnt find a better built machine for the price I paid for this one, I tried. To me there is no comparison between it and the other brands that are around the same price. I hope this helped. Great review. For those that are wondering, you can get this mower with a key ignition. My RZ 54” Pro has a key ignition and was the only one available at the dealer. They can get you a key ignition if you request it. Absolute fan of Kawasaki and I will buy nothing else. Before they were bought out by Husqvarna my Yazoo-kee was a Kawasaki engine and after 20 years I sold it to my father and it is still rolling and has not had one problem with the engine. Also this mower is not hydrostatic, which in my opinion is fantastic and one of the reasons why I bought the mower. This mower is built like a tank and rides like a dream. I have an acre lot and it literally takes about 30 minutes to mow my yard. Mine was a 2023 no hours on it and I got it for $6500 total.
I've been going to Davis since Marcus was selling feed out of that same store. He's good people. I bought my RZ-C from him about three years ago, and it's been awesome. Definitely made me a Spartan fan. My only complaint is the keypad -- it gets a little stubborn after a while. Doesn't always connect and start like it should. I'm about ready to replace it with a traditional key mod that Spartan came out with. Good review :)
Yes I've already had to replace my keypad once which was covered under warranty. I agree the keypad is nice and all for the information it gives but it shouldn't be the only way to start it. Standard key start and maybe a small info center would be great. Thanks for watching and commenting
How's the mower doing after having it awhile I just bought mine today having it delivered tomorrow was going to get a 48inch but bought a 42 off your review saved 800 dollars going this way.
I love it man....has been awesome. Couldnt ask for more. And the compact size works very well around the a/c and so on. The smaller size doesnt add any cut time at all. I have ordered a bagger for it and the spring for the seat. Waiting for those to come in. Glad I could save you some money. That was my first ever TH-cam video...dont laugh to hard.....thanks again for the support

They have a few different upgrades for the suspension seat. 1 looks like a 3 rubber dampener system, the shock and a 360 floating plate. I picked up a used rz-hd and am looking to improve the ride comfort and was wondering what you thought of the shock?

I just read this again and realized what you meant ....I thought u were saying bad boy..... not referring to the brand bad boy. Spartan is not a bad boy (the brand) at all!!! Not even close! Anyone who would say that obviously hasnt seen a bad boy in person . Put the 2 mowers side by side and there are alot of differences. The spartan is a much better quality product.
@Eugene Johnston Robert was one of the founding owners of Bad Boy. However when they parted ways, Robert built a factory across the street from Bad Boy and manufactured Spartan completely different, predominantly because of his previous ties with/to Bad Boy. Definitely NOT the same as a Bad Boy!

I was considering the Spartan KGZ-XD, but that is a lot of money for a tricked out mower! May go with the SRT-XD, and possibly the KG-XD.

One of the makers who started Spartan also helped start Bad Boy. So, Spartan is actually a revamped Bad Boy.
