    A r7 i do think is "overkill" for the GPU , especialy because many peoples want to pay less on the CPU so they can get a better GPU, i have a R5 2600X and RX 6700 XT (previosly i had a GTX 1080 with this GPU, soon i'm gonna change the CPU with a R5 5600x to keep the socket) so in my opinion a R5 3 or 5 th gen is a perfect match for 3060 ti, or a R7 second or third gen , u can even try a combo with a r2 second gen (2600X or 2600) if u alredy have it
    I play in Full hd with all setting maxed out and even with Raytraicing , and this combo i own , gives me over 60+ fps , is great enought for me

    • @maxthemillion2924
      @maxthemillion2924 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what you are playing. I build my pc with a 3060ti and the 5600X but upgraded to the 5800X3D cause the 5600X was not performing like expected. Build my pc for 1440p 240hz gaming in DayZ and for DayZ you need a load of cpu performance! Just got from 150fps to 250-300 fps with the 5800X3D! I wouldn’t say the cpu is overkill for that gpu.
      Another sideeffect when you buy a “too strong“ cpu you should always be good for years. Same like my old pc before. A i7 4790k with a gtx960. 10 years later it’s still performing impressive! And upgrading the gpu after years is so much easier than cpu

      @@maxthemillion2924 My eight year old i7-6700k is still doing fine. Last year my old GPU died and I got an 3060Ti for a good price, so I went with it and my old rig is surprising me by actually performing quite well even at 1440p, which also speaks volumes about the 3060Ti. I will definitely stick with it for quite some time, methinks.
      Still, I think it is time to finally get a new system, but I will keep the 3060Ti. It still performs very well and I am definitely not willing to cough up a monthly wage for a new GPU.
      But considering my upgrade frequency measured in years, I have no problems with a bit of overkill when it comes to the CPU. The only problem is, I have _zero_ idea which CPU to get, the only thing I know is I want some 'futureproofness' and DDR5, but apart from that and considering I did not keep myself up to date about new hardware, I definitely feel lost at the moment. :D

      @@OngZikuIt's a situational thing. 85% of the time I would say go AM5.
      If I am building an ITX PC, I don't have the same expectations as I would , if it were an ATX tower. An ATX Tower is like a work horse, I want it to last for generations, maybe a decade. I wouldn't expect that from an ITX build. That's not to say I would dismiss the AM5 route, just saying the AM4 decision could still make sense.
      I also think there will be support for AM4 (like DDR4 availability) for some time to come.

      The answers here are kind of weird. I'll explain it properly.
      When generating frames there are 2 main components that work together. It is CPU and GPU.
      When going for higher resolution GPU has to work more and therefore produces less frames. Same when you put higher settings.
      Generated frames the have to be processed by your CPU.
      Therefore less frames = less work for CPU to do.
      In this short author gives you CPU selection that will not bottlenect the GPU under, pretty much, any circumstance. Which is pretty stupid, considering the fact that barely anobody needs over 500 FPS at 1080p. CPU selection at 1440p is overkill as well, for max settings especially.

    No, you get Zen 4 for its upgrading room. Because while GPU can be swapped pretty easily, CPU,MO,RAM cannot be changed individually most of the time (unless you go with Zen4 which offer continued support to Zen6 and further). A CPU can last you 10 years on average before going obsolete, most change GPU at least 2 times within the 10 years. You don't want to be stuck with a unupgradable CPU by the next time you change GPU.

If you plan to get upgrade or build a new pc every 7 to 8 yr (even 10 year) go with the few highest cpu choice at current time of the upgrade because cpu are not easily upgradable and required window reformatting. And tend to have new socket every 2 to 3 years so bottleneck your gpu is better to be bottle neck your cpu. And also buying cheapest or lower cpu offer. Your cpu will be bottle neck in few years due to how gpu get more powerful every 2 to 3 years. So ya alot easier to just replace gpu then cpu
